"Everyone, big news!" Lubbock shouted as he ran into Night Raid's hideout.

Akame and the others, who were engaged in their own activities, looked up at Lubbock's entrance.

Following Najenda's arrangements, they were currently on vacation.

However, Lubbock wasn't included in this break.

As the only one who could still gather intelligence within the capital, he had a more important task.

Besides, for Lubbock, reading in his bookstore was the best kind of vacation.

It had been a while since Akame and the others had seen him.

Now, observing his frantic expression, they tensed up.

"Lubbock, what happened to make you so flustered?" Akame asked urgently, quickly approaching him.

Looking at the gathered members, Lubbock exclaimed, his voice filled with a mix of grief and indignation, "Being the Emperor is just too enviable!"

"Huh?" Confusion filled Night Raid's hideout.

...

...

"So that's what happened…" Najenda frowned, studying the intelligence report, her gaze sharp.

The other members of Night Raid silently watched her, awaiting her decision.

After a moment of contemplation, Najenda made a difficult choice. "There's nothing we can do. We can only rely on Chelsea's own abilities now." Her voice was filled with resignation.

Night Raid nodded silently; there was no need for further discussion.

The situation was clear. They had no chance of storming the Imperial Palace and rescuing Chelsea.

They could only watch as she walked into the lion's den.

A heavy silence descended upon them.

"Hold on!" Leone clapped her hands, breaking the somber mood.

She smiled brightly and continued, "Don't think of it as such a bad thing. We all know the current Emperor isn't the original."

"Judging by his actions, isn't he a true hero?"

"Perhaps Chelsea has fallen for him."

"If it were me, I certainly wouldn't resist."

A chuckle rippled through the room. They knew Leone was trying to comfort them, and it did ease their worries slightly.

As assassins, Night Raid had long since made peace with the concept of death.

And Chelsea wasn't facing a life-or-death situation yet.

In a way, she was enjoying a life of luxury within the palace.

"She's in the palace now; we can only hope for the best," Najenda said, gazing toward the Imperial Palace.

…

Within the palace, Mika was observing Night Raid's reactions through a familiar stationed at their base.

He had deliberately leaked the news of Chelsea becoming his consort.

A smirk touched his lips as he watched their expressions.

"How amusing. My little scheme worked perfectly."

With Mellie's abilities, no spy could operate undetected under their noses.

Those without value had been eliminated, and the remaining spies were under their control.

Through these spies, Mika could leak any information he desired.

As Mika chuckled, familiar footsteps approached.

Looking up, he saw Mellie and Airmid entering his chambers.

"Well, Airmid, have you thought it through?"

Airmid blushed at his teasing.

After Mika declared he would take both of them as Empresses, Airmid, flustered and overwhelmed, had fled the scene.

Therefore, the decree hadn't been issued yet.

Now, after a few days of reflection, Mika couldn't resist teasing her again.

As expected, she reacted just as he'd anticipated.

"We'll discuss that later. We have important news," Airmid said, quickly composing herself.

Seeing their serious expressions, Mika stopped his teasing and turned his attention to them.

"What news?"

"According to reports from the front lines, General Esdeath has completely conquered the northern tribes, taking full control of their territories," Airmid announced, her voice filled with excitement.

"So soon?" After a brief moment of surprise, Mika understood the reason.

For the Empire, located in the central plains, the reason they never annexed the surrounding tribes was their distance and lack of valuable resources.

The Empire simply didn't consider them worth the effort.

Mika understood their reasoning.

It was a common occurrence throughout history; distance and communication were significant obstacles.

Often, the court couldn't even effectively manage nearby regions, let alone distant territories.

Therefore, despite Esdeath's repeated conquests of these tribes, the Empire had never bothered incorporating their lands.

But this time, Esdeath had acted on Mika's orders.

As for why?

He turned to Mellie. "How are things on your end?"

"Everything is ready. Thanks to Dr. Stylish's research, the designs for both the trains and the telegraph are complete and ready for implementation," Mellie replied proudly.

Mika nodded in satisfaction.

In his view, someone with Dr. Stylish's research talents should be focused on cutting-edge technology. It would be a waste of his abilities otherwise.

"Excellent. Now, we'll connect the northern territories with the capital using trains and telegraphs, solidifying our long-term control."

"In the future, wherever the Empire reaches, these connections will follow."

"Only this way can true, lasting rule be achieved."

...

...

"By the way, how is the Path of the Forge progressing?"

After discussing the northern expedition, Mika turned his attention to the development of the Path of the Forge.

He placed great importance on this initiative.

His reason for becoming Emperor was to establish a strong foundation for the Yahweh Familia in this world, Enhancing countless craftsmen capable of forging Teigu and even surpassing them.

His ultimate goal was to create divine artifacts.

This was his grand plan for this world, though it was a long-term objective.

For now, establishing the Path of the Forge was his priority.

"The church's development is proceeding smoothly," Mellie reported.

"Branches of the Path of the Forge have been established in every county and are expanding further."

"Following our plan, the church is recruiting young boys and girls, teaching them martial arts and forging techniques."

"Those who excel in both are sent to the capital for further training, and after a second selection process, they are granted Falna."

"Those who receive Falna must then embark on journeys to gain experience and increase their base stats, returning only after achieving a great feat and leveling up."

"Currently, the plan is focused on training youths in each county. Further progress will take time."

"Excellent," Mika nodded.

"How about those growth elixirs we designed?" He turned to Airmid.

These elixirs were designed to update Falna without requiring divine blood.

Unlike other worlds, this world would eventually have a large number of people needing such elixirs.

They couldn't be expected to return to headquarters every time they needed an update.

Therefore, Mika and Gabriel had designed these elixirs for future Familia members.

This way, Gabriel only needed to focus on level-up ceremonies.

"They're ready," Airmid replied with a smile. This task had been entrusted to her, and she had completed it flawlessly.

Mika nodded in satisfaction.

As long as the Path of the Forge continued its smooth development, the Empire would have a steady stream of talented individuals from all over the country.

He didn't intend to force those selected into forging. Being chosen meant they were companions, and Mika respected their choices.

His role was to guide them toward appreciating the art of forging. If they chose different paths in the future, he would support them.

After all, the Yahweh Familia was destined to rule this world.

Their need for talented individuals was immense.

"Excellent!" Seeing everything progressing smoothly, Mika turned his attention back to Airmid. "Now that official matters are settled, let's discuss something personal."

"P-Personal?" Airmid's earlier smile vanished, replaced by a blush as she lowered her head.

"W-What personal matters?" She feigned ignorance, unable to face the implications.

Mika chuckled. "Our engagement, of course. Unless… you're unwilling?"

"I'm not unwilling; I just need more time to think about it," she mumbled softly.

Mika frowned; he didn't want to let this opportunity slip away. He approached her and pulled her into a gentle embrace.

"If you need more time, then I'll just have to…"

"No!" Airmid interrupted him, clinging tightly to his clothes.

"I agree!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with emotion.

Seeing her finally agree, Mika's smile widened.

He had waited a long time for this moment.

…

After Airmid's agreement, Mika immediately issued an imperial decree.

And the court erupted in chaos once more.

Unlike the previous announcement of an Imperial Consort, this time the Emperor was taking Empresses—two of them.

Moreover, those two were the Prime Minister and the Grand General.

Such a thing was unprecedented in the Empire's thousand-year history.

Logically, the officials should have opposed such a decision.

However, not only did they not object, but they even praised the Emperor's wisdom. After all, the current head of the civil officials was Mellie.

How could she allow her subordinates to speak out against her?

Mellie knew that in Mika's heart, Airmid held the most important position.

If there were only one Empress, it would be Airmid, not her.

Therefore, how could she allow her subordinates to speak ill of her?

Thus, amidst universal praise, Mika's decree spread throughout the capital and the Empire.

The entire nation was in an uproar.

…

"Isn't this a bit too outrageous?" Najenda stared at the newspaper in disbelief.

Beside her, Lubbock, who had brought the news, was utterly speechless.

"Two empresses? And they're the Grand General and the Prime Minister? Who could accept this?!"

"Perhaps His Majesty is… overly fond of women?" Mine suggested.

"I doubt it," Leone countered, surprisingly analytical. "Judging by their positions, both Empresses are individuals the Emperor trusts deeply. They're likely close friends, perhaps even involved in a love triangle!"

"That's why he's taking both of them as wives."

"Hmm, that makes sense," Bulat agreed.

"But what about Chelsea? She just became an Imperial Consort, and now the Emperor is taking Empresses. Won't she fall out of favor?" Sheele asked, her voice filled with concern.

A heavy silence descended upon the group. Chelsea's situation seemed rather unfortunate.

"Perhaps it's because the Emperor wanted to take Chelsea as his consort that the Grand General and the Prime Minister went to confront him, leading to him marrying both of them?" Najenda speculated, joining in their discussion.

The others nodded; it seemed plausible.

"But regardless, this has nothing to do with us, does it?" Leone said, slumping back into her chair.

"Not necessarily. I was planning to deal with those criminals soon, but since the Emperor is getting married, let's not cause any trouble."

"Consider it a repayment for their cooperation during the previous incident," Najenda said with a smile.
