DxD: Multiversal Therapist

Chapter 250: Her Sacrifice II

Shaltear and Albedo glared at one another once. The succubus tried to stare past the cryptically yet typical visage of Shaltear.

'Is she brainwashed like the rest? I-Is she not?' Albedo wondered inwardly while biting her lips. What had started like a bleak hope had now become a blazing flame.

Shaltear had just used a barrier spell in her mind, it was such a small mana fluctuation that it was not detected by Demiurge or the Pleiades. The purpose of the barrier was (at least for what she believed) to protect her mind from outsider influence.

'Is she protecting me from Osiris' tricks?'.

Albedo didn't know for certain, but she hoped Shaltear had managed to step a footing from which her plan could move forward.

"Very well, if the information you hold is useful or not, the master will judge that~" Shaltear mumbled, and after remaining static for a second, a form headed towards the concealed dimension of the moonlight mist. The portal formed in the form of a strange white mist that filled Albedo with apprehension.

She knew once she was inside, there would be no step back. But Albedo stilled herself and was escorted inside by the Pleiades while Demiurge and Albedo walked forward. What called most of Albedo's attention was Demiurge's attitude.

He looked as if he respected Shaltear as a being above himself. Something that the Demiurge she knows would never do. All of those small details, Albedo stored them in her mind.

On the other side of the portal, there was a massive world where moons and a gigantic sun hung in the skies, emitting great brilliance but somehow... not invasive or scorching. The ground was like clear water in which the reflections of everything were visible, but it wasn't water; it could be stepped on.

Rather than immediately inspecting her surroundings, Albedo was met by another surprise.

"Why have you left master's side, Shaltear?–" Solution had spoken with a dry tone and stopped mid-way when she saw Albedo standing next to Demiurge. Both of them shared a glance before Shaltear waved her umbrella, obtaining their attention, "She has valuable information for master. I only tried to personally fetch her to make sure she doesn't get exterminated~".

For reasons unbeknownst to her, Albedo saw Solution grit her teeth and glare at Shaltear threateningly, "Shaltear, I was the one who planned–"

"Do you have anything to say? You should know now is not the place Solution" Shaltear held Solution's chin, her vampire eyes glared past her very soul and her core and eventually, Solution remained quiet but still reluctant.

'Could it be... he doesn't hold complete control over them?' Seeing the attitude of both Shaltear and Solution, Albedo wondered to what extent Osiris was controlling their minds, since it felt as if there was bad blood between them.

She saw Solution walk away without saying another word, and when she turned around, Demiurge and the Pleiades were already gone, heading back outside through a mist portal. She was left alone with Saltear, who remained silent the whole way and only beckoned her to follow while playing with her umbrella.

In a secluded spot where Albedo was being escorted to, there was a huge magical tent. Inside this tent, Albedo saw him, and her eyes flared up.

"Osiris".

The tent was filled with hundreds of people lying down on slime mats. Ray was in the process of doing his therapy, holding a middle-aged man with wolf ears on his lap and massaging his temples. That man looked like he was on cloud nine with that simple action.

Shaltear, patted his right shoulder.

"My dearest Master, I need your attention for a bit~"

Ray turned his head and saw Albedo standing there with a smile that didn't quite reach his eye. And he noticed she was shivering a bit in nervousness. Rather than address her, he kept massaging the young man's temples and looked at Shaltear one time.

"I'll take a break in an hour. Can you wait for me?".

Shaltear embraced her master's back with a cute giggle. She didn't lose her chance to sniff his neck, but she knew it wasn't the right time to get some blood, especially when she had already gotten her fair dose in the morning... she'd have to wait until the evening.

"Of course, master. But as I have received your orders, I'll be heading to the other side now. Would you do me the honours?~"

Ray nodded, and a gate manifested. Albedo recognised it... It was the very same gate that started everything, her nightmare.

The transdimensional gate.

"You may have more chances of finding your kind in a place called 'Transilvania'... once you have stepped your footing in my world, you can begin researching what I told you. You're also free to ask me anytime when you wish to come back, okay? Also, remember to not use that skill unless it is necessary, Shaltear".

"I understand, master~" Shaltear, unable to help herself, wanted to go for a farewell kiss, but she was stopped.

"W-Wait, S-Shaltear..." Albedo stretched her faltering hand. How could she not know... Shaltear was about to abandon that world. 'Will she be back? Would she be able to support my plan? What is happening? What did Osiris order her?!'

The vampires looked at her nervous, quivering mess and giggled, then approached. She gave Albedo a 'hug' and whispered something near her ears, "There are multiple deities watching you at all times, Albedo. Don't cause trouble or you won't even know how you died".

"…" Rather than reassure her, her words only made the succubus even more nervous.

"I am not going to be away permanently... you have things to do at your end, I have mine. Wait until master has time to meet you".

...

Shaltear disappeared inside the transdimensional gate. Albedo looked at Ray's starry eyes one time. She wanted to say something, but the next thing she knew was that a white mist was covering her, and she reappeared outside the tent.

Albedo was left ot her leisure. Even Demiurge and the Pleiades had already gone to do their bidding.

The plan was to hang around for two hours and wait for her 'appointment'. Albedo walked around and inspected without 'causing trouble' as it had been previously said.

She looked for Solution and couldn't find her. She looked for Demiurge and the Pleiades and couldn't find them. Albedo saw the world around her. It had technically become a society of all races living together, cheering each other, and although they didn't want to, expecting their moment to head towards their own home, finally leaving this place that had become something akin to the heavens.

She didn't understand, 'Why? Why are there so many people...? What is the meaning of this?'

There were different regions. Places where people socialised and had fun, places filled with slime containing people inside. There was even what looked like a beach in the distance.

But there were also depressive and nightmare-induced places filled with people who waited in pitiful conditions, injured, profaned... those who were awake were consoled by those who had already recovered.

Putting two and two together, Albedo bit her lips and realised…

"The slaves… he…"

"Our dear god's benevolence is beyond your consciousness".

Albedo turned around and found an angel standing proudly, looking at the surroundings. This angel had ten wings that were massive compared to her small ones. He looked at her with curiosity, more accurately, her wings and horns.

"You are a nephilim..."

Albedo frowned and made some distance between them, "I don't know what you are talking about... I have never heard of something like a 'Nephilim'. You, however, are an angel, right?".

"A Starlight Angel, in all my lord's glory. My name is Zariel" He stretched his hand.

"Albedo" She didn't shake his hand but rather turned with a side eye to look at the crowds of people. "What are Osiris' insidious plans with these people? Does he intend to perform some ritual?" She ridiculed.

Zariel nearly smirked at her arrogance, "Nothing insidious as you describe. My God is merely a benevolent being and wishes to save all race–"

"Benevolent? Humph! DON'T MAKE ME LAUGH!"

Zariel gasped. Everyone in the vicinity looked at Albedo as the kids hid behind the Adults while the adults got on guard. The Starlight Angels all perked up and started encircling her, but out of nowhere, their eyes opened widely, they nodded and then retreated.

"You lie! If he was such a benevolent being, he wouldn't have destroyed my home! Osiris... he's... HE IS!–"

She bit her lips, aware that she was unable to say what she wanted to say... and that she came to this world with an objective in mind. Albedo realised she had just raised her first flaw. With tears in her eyes, she flew away... she didn't know where towards, but she didn't want to be there.

Zariel's wings flapped as he prepared to chase. However, he was holding his light spear.

"My lord, the peace of this world shouldn't be disturbed–".

'Let her go, Zariel... don't chase'.

The Starlight Angel glared at the departing figure of the succubus reluctantly and eventually nodded, he couldn't go against his lord's orders even if he wanted to, "As you wish, my lord... we will prepare for our next raid after a break".

'Good job. Thanks for understanding'.

Albedo flew far away into the empty world of mirrors... it was beautiful and magical, but it couldn't soothe the anger in her heart. Plans, schemes... the desire for vengeance, all of them were nothing but faraway desires that couldn't hope to quench the endless wrath in her heart.

Far in the distance, there was an ocean, the water so clear that it was no different from the very mirror world. In there, a beautiful goddess with light blue skin and long ears was playing with kids in the water... she looked up and saw the silhouette of a flying beauty, disconsolated.

In another region, thousands and thousands of slime capsules contained bodies that were in the process and healing.

Eventually, she found somewhere 'secluded' somewhere so far away that not even the reflection of the reflections could be seen. And even there, she realised she wasn't alone.

She landed and saw a silhouette standing right in front of her with that sazzy smile of hers that could bring forth wrath from even the most peaceful Buddha.

"N-Nightmare?" Albedo mumbled, looked up and down at the woman whom she hadn't personally fought, but whom she still wanted to personally tear apart.

"It's good to see you, but… what are you doing here? Frankly, you look more lost than the kids in the centre region, it is kind of cute~" Kurumi giggled and circled around Albedo, prompting the succubus to do the same. Her halberd materialised, but it didn't face Kurumi.

"The people here... do they know the kind of monster you are?" Albedo hissed like a snake, but Kurumi only giggled and shrugged her shoulders.

"You talk like you're not one. Also, you haven't answered my question. Wandering around here like you're lost, has no one put a leash on you yet?" She tilted her head cutely, "That's strange, or maybe not. To thoroughly ignore you... that's what Haku was expecting master to do".

"Huh?" Albedo mumbled confused, "W-What do you mean?"

"You will understand soon enough, little pet~" Kurumi giggled maniacally, caressing her collar that only now Albedo realised was there, and that prompted her to recall how Shaltear also had one, although it looked different.

When Albedo looked at Kurumi to ask her something, the girl was no longer there, and she was now in the ultimate solitude of the mirror world.

For what she believed to be days, Albedo did nothing but kneel on the ground, looking at her reflection and coming to the conclusion that Osiris was not going to come look for her, so she turned around and flew back to where she came.

Only, this time she was met with a bit more of a chaotic visage.

...

"UGH!"

"H-Help!"

"Katsuyu-chan, we need another clone!"

People screaming, thousands of new bodies lying on the ground... some bloodied, some missing limbs.

'H-Huh?' Now Albedo was even more confused.

The starlight angels were still carrying bodies out of the white mist and into the mirror world, each in a worse condition than the rest. What had been thousands of capsules were now dozens of thousands. All of that in just a mere days.

She saw hundreds of copies of Solution performing different tasks, then there were hundreds of copies of another slime whom they called 'Katsuyu' also performing a plethora of tasks. There were helpers among those who had already recovered... but there was just not enough people.

The succubus landed in front of a young boy with bunny ears who had been carried and put on a small bed where he awaited to be put into Katsuyu's slime. He had half of his body burned to a crisp and expressed signs of deep torture. Seeing that kid in that state, Albedo didn't feel a thing... but she realised soon enough what sort of stress the people in this world went through every time there was a 'raid'.

Having had enough time to think of her situation, Albedo sighed and walked regally without being stopped or perturbed. The Starlight Angels looked at her go and cross the white mist back into the outside world, and they didn't do anything.

She arrived in the dungeon of what looked like a huge castle. There were explosions upstairs, but she didn't pay them any mind. She walked to the cages where the slaves were kept. Hundreds of them kept like tuna in the most horrid of states... without saying a single word, she carried two on her shoulders and two on her arms... carrying four in total.

"..." The starlight angels looked at her confused as she walked back into the moonlight mist, then dropped those bodies and came back to get more. She did this at least four times until she grew irritated and looked at the crowds of people in the moonlight mist who had already recovered but were doing nothing except for looking.

"WHAT ARE YOU ALL LOOKING AT!? ALL OF YOU WERE LIKE THIS AT SOME POINT, WEREN'T YOU? SO NOW THAT YOU HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO HELP, WHY ARE YOU STANDING THERE DOING NOTHING?! PATHETIC!"

!!!

"S-Sorry!" Her words motivated at least a few dozen men into rushing to the portals to carry their fellow slaves out of danger. The woman was right, if it was them... they would want to be taken out of that hell as soon as possible.

Far in the distance, from the artificial sea, Galadriel looked at everything with a smile while playing with some mermaid and triton children.

'Did you think this was going to happen, my dearest? To think she, of all people, would motivate them. Is this why you allow her freedom?'.

'I didn't... this is her own free will. I merely wanted to know what she would do with her freedom'.

'Do you plan to make her into your pet? I believe she would make quite a pleasurable vessel for you?~'.

'Pleasurable vessel... who taught you how to talk so naughtily, Galadriel? Rather than sponsoring pets for your husband, shouldn't you be a dutiful wife and entertain your husband in the evening?~'.

Galadriel blushed massively to the point that the kids wondered if she was okay. She pulled the cheeks of one boy for no reason in particular as he protested.

'Maybe I am just an aggrieved and busy wife who waits for her husband to make a move on her. But because my husband is always busy or playing with his pets, he has no time for me. However, my husband is happy playing with his pets, so... all I can do as a good wife is encourage him to get more, right?~'.

She pulled the cheeks of the boy harder, the boy began wondering if he had done anything wrong. There was dead silence in which Galadriel's heart palpitated strongly until finally, she got an answer.

'Galadriel, you better be ready tonight...'

The Midnight Elf quivered with expectations and licked her lips, finally letting go of the poor boy, who quickly sank back into the sea.

'No, my dearest... it is you who should be ready–'.

'N-No, I mean it... Ophis is going to join us, so you better be ready because I am not'.

Galadriel's countenance fell, sweat dropped, and her heart fell into disarray... because she knew deep in her soul. They were both in deep shit.

She looked at herself, her blue skin and thought about something to make her long-awaited evening even spicier. Her skin began to change, her blue skin became pristine white, her hair gained a blonde colour and reached the floor.

The kids, rather pure in behaviour, looked at her and blushed profusely with pumping hearts.

"It has been so long since I took this form, I wonder if my dearest will like it~".
