Chapter 8: Chapter 8: bodyguard

-2 Years Later-

It's been two years and I am now eleven years old.

In that time many things have taken place.

First off, Dominque officially became my attendant/bodyguard.

Well actually once we both agreed to it she already had the position, but in a society like ours we needed to go through an official procedure for formality sake. But once that was out of the way, everyone knew that Dominque and I were a pair.

Which was nice.

Dominque actually became the first person my own age I was able to get close with. I even managed to corrupt her by showing her anime, manga, videogames, and even movies like Star Wars and Indiana Jones, since they have those in this world.

I regret nothing.

Besides it was nice to have someone to share my hobbies with.

It also allowed Dominque to tell me more about herself.

Like me she is a dhampir. She also has a sacred gear.

And one of her parents is also dead. Her mother died in childbirth.

Because of that she has been raised by her father Charles, and her older half-siblings Veronica and Antoine, both of whom are full-blooded vampires.

Even so they treat their little sister kindly and don't discriminate against her one bit.

However both Antione and Veronica are still sadists through and through.

I've met Antoine several times and whenever we met up he would always tease Dominque with a sickeningly sweet smile on his face.

The mark of a pro sadist.

As for Veronica I found out about her sadism in a different manner.

Her teaching methods.

The first day we started training she told me to feel the flow of her magic power while she offered off different elemental spells at me, all with a smile on her face. She didn't let up, even when I was out of breath and begging her for a reprieve.

She simply said, "Surpass your limits. "

Like it was so easy to do.

And that's not the worst of it.

When I slept in one morning and was late for training, which starts at 6:AM sharp by the way, she froze me in a block of ice for the entire day and had me memorize the name of all the prominent faction leaders in the entire supernatural world.

And I missed one she would only give me bread and water for food. She really did it.

Needless to say after that I was never late for training ever again.

Dominque suffered the same fate as me. Actually I think she had it worse since she went home with Veronica every single night.

Sometimes when I saw her in the morning for training she had this hollow look in her eyes.

Meanwhile Veronica always had this refreshed look on her face.

All my instincts told me to leave it alone, so that's exactly what I did.

To sum it up, Veronica is a demonic instructor from the lowest bits of hell. She also enjoys teasing others, since she kept pressing her breasts against me every chance she got, acting like it was no big deal at all.

Which in turn caused Dominque to press her chest against me, only. .

. she's still as flat as an ironing board.

But since I value my life I've never said that out loud to her face. I'm not an idiot after all.

Anyway, although the training has been hellish I can't argue with the results.

Both Dominque and I have improved in leaps and bounds in every single category. Physical abilities, magical control and destructive power, vampiric abilities, and the coup de grace both Dominque and I managed to unlock our sacred gears.

Dominque sacred gear is Sword Birth. Which allows her to make demonic swords and bladed weapons, just like Rias's asexual knight Kiba.

As for me, my sacred gear is a whole other matter entirely. Namely because it is not only a rare sacred gear, but it's base form is a sub-species.

Just like Siegfried's Twice Critical from the Hero Faction.

I jumped for joy after learning this. No, I literally held Dominque's hands and we jumped for joy.

Now, as to what my sacred gear is, it's Forbidden Balor View. The same sacred gear as Gasper Vladi.

So you're probably wondering, did I steal Gasper's sacred gear?

The answer to that question is no. I did not take his sacred gear.

While Forbidden Balor View is a rare-type of sacred gear, more than one copy of it does exist. No one is sure how many, but throughout history it has been recorded that multiple people possessed the gear at the same time.

And the only reason that Gasper's Balor View evolved into a Longinus in the first place is because it contained a piece of the soul and power of the original evil god Balor. That's what makes his gear so special.

But mine is no pushover either I'll have you know.

Like Is said, my version of Balor View is a subspecies. And it's power is out of this world.

Most possessor's of Balor View have to make eye-contact with their target, and can only freeze things in their direct line of sight. But my version of Balor View allows me to produce a time-stasis field in my immediate vicinity, allowing me to pick and choose what I want to freeze.

Thought it only works on things relatively closer to my own power or weaker than me. Even so, my sacred gear is pretty amazing.

Not to mention the other thing.

I am a vampire with the power to stop time around myself. For any weeb you should know what this means.

One time during training I even shouted "The World" when activating my gear. It was cringe as hell, but boy it did feel good.

Moving on from that my mother started introducing me to more progenitors and officials within our faction.

She's obviously trying to get me prepared for the future.
