chapter 124
[Party] Honeybread: Isn’t this fine?
[Party] Honeybread: You don’t need to tell me anything beyond what’s necessary for the transaction.
[Party] Honeybread: For reference, I don’t care whether you’re a guy or a girl.
[Party] Honeybread: Just... seriously, I just want you to play the game with me.
Since there was no reply, I tried pushing a little. What was he thinking, being so quiet? I was really curious about what was going through Gang Jaegyung’s head.
[Party] Gonyanyanya2: It’s just… I don’t really want to get that obsessed with the game...
Yeah, I figured that’s what he’d say. That kind of preamble people give when they’re about to turn you down.
[Party] Honeybread: Isn’t your part-time job hard? It’s better to make money while gaming;
[Party] Gonyanyanya2: Even so, I don’t think that’s right... It doesn’t feel wholesome or something...
[Party] Honeybread: That’s all just prejudice. The prejudice that gaming isn’t wholesome.
[Party] Gonyanyanya2: Still… I’m sorryㅠㅠ
Well. It’s not like I really expected him to say yes. I sent a reply packed with disappointment. It was enough just to show that I was being sincere with Gonyanyanya.
[Party] Honeybread: If your part-time job ever gets too rough, tell me. I might still take you in then.
[Party] Gonyanyanya2: Thanks for worrying about me.
[Party] Honeybread: nvm all good
[Party] Honeybread: Hurry and push your main quest so you’re not late to your shift.
After that, Gang Jaegyung started moving his character and began clearing the main quest. Could’ve been pretending, but in any case, after finishing everything you could do at Base 51, he said he’d head back to base and logged off.
Since he logged off of Gonyanyanya, I figured maybe he’d come back on as Retaking a Class, so I picked up my phone and opened the chat with Gang Jaegyung.
[Me]
mh 15:59
Before I could even decide whether to wait for a reply, the read receipt disappeared.
[Gang Jaegyung]
I’m at work
Just on a breakㅎㅎ
Why? You miss me or something? 15:59
Even though he’d just been playing with me on his other account, he was now bullshitting about being on break from work to build an alibi.
Anyway, I guess that means he’s not logging on as Retaking a Class until after the stream.
[Me]
k got it, good luck 15:59
I put the phone down.
After that, the screen kept blinking with new messages, but I ignored it and roamed around the field. I’d check later, whatever.
Title: Who tf is gnyanyanyanya2…?
Author: [Folded] Rubbery Sweet Potato Sticks
First time seeing them, but they carried in the 44v raid.
44-level Jo-class, wearing full-enhanced Assassin gear.

After that, I wondered if Gang Jaegyung might ghost the Gonyanyanya2 account entirely—but that was only half right. For the next three days, he kept logging on as Gonyanyanya and playing diligently.
What he did during those three days was try to change Gonyanyanya’s image. From my perspective, knowing everything, it was just plain funny.
[Party] Gonyanyanya2: By the way, what’s the outfit you’re wearing, Honeybread? It looks way nicer than mine...
[Party] Gonyanyanya2: Ah, I don’t mean the outfit you gave me isn’t prettyㅜㅠ
[Party] Gonyanyanya2: Oh… is that the Supreme Commander outfit? So you have to earn that rank to wear it?
[Party] Gonyanyanya2: Are look items sold by the broker?
[Party] Gonyanyanya2: Whoa, this one’s really cute. Looks sorta like yours... but it’s expensiveㅜ
[Party] Gonyanyanya2: How do I link the item?
[Party] Gonyanyanya2:
[Party] Gonyanyanya2: Why are you trading?
[Party] Gonyanyanya2: No no, you don’t have to give ➤ NоvеⅠight ➤ (Read more on our source) it to me! Please sell it again—I didn’t bring it up just to get itㅜㅜ!!
[Party] Gonyanyanya2: We said I wouldn’t take anything anymore, remember? Please keep the promise...
[Party] Gonyanyanya2: It’s not cheap, and if you keep doing this it makes me uncomfortableㅜㅠ...
[Party] Gonyanyanya2: Fine, really, I’ll just take this one last thing… but I swear I won’t take anything else, so don’t buy me stuff anymore.
And Gang Jaegyung repeated this kind of act several more times, ultimately extracting about 400,000 won worth of gear. Sure, I pretty much forced it on him, but he also stopped resisting as much and just quietly accepted the items. He was trying to shift Gonyanyanya’s image from “Jo-class pro newbie” to “scammer who takes expensive gear and vanishes.”
The fact that he’d built up this image of a “polite, frugal, soft-spoken” newbie and now was trying this angle—it was hilarious. Maybe he was desperate. Or maybe, despite being stubborn to the point of refusing even cheap gifts, he actually valued our relationship that much. That thought made me feel a little smug.
He also went out of his way to show he was a different person from Retaking a Class. Unlike during the Base 51 raid, he used different skills—Retaking a Class always optimized for max efficiency, but Gonyanyanya2 would push healing even if it meant self-sacrifice. He made choices that Retaking a Class never would have made.
After syncing with me and draining gear for four days, he started logging in less. On days he did show up, I couldn’t reach him, so he suggested using voice chat apps to keep in touch—but always had excuses ready and never actually exchanged contact info. Sometimes I was online, and he’d still log in solo, play briefly, and log off again.
If I didn’t know Gonyanyanya was Gang Jaegyung, I would’ve already told him to screw off. But since I knew, the whole situation was just… hilarious.
Oh, one more funny thing: out of the 20+ look items I gifted him, Gang Jaegyung only ever wore two. Just two. When I realized that, I almost burst out laughing.
Even so, he made sure to leave himself an escape route—none of the gifted look items had been equipped. Once equipped, they can’t be traded again, but he kept them untouched in storage. So if I ever snapped and demanded my gifts back, he could immediately return them. Truly a calculating bastard.
