Chapter 242: Expand the Dungeon!
Leonhardt closed his eyes, taking a deep breath to savour the lingering scent of Zafira, her wings fluttering in the air as he remained in the dark alone.
"It's time." The dungeon System expanded, revealing the entire land area from the basin to the village where he currently resided.
First, he ensured that he captured the underground, a two-story complex filled with monsters, minerals, and the unique flora of the Embervale kingdom.
"Well I can expand the Papilion business easily... are there any other plants or fruits?"
He tried to keep their infrastructure and national products flowing into the human lands, thanks to the fruits cultivated by goblins, orcs and the help of Zafira. Now, not just the fruit used to sweeten the elven wine, but also fruits that could make cheap cider and sweet treats full of vitamins that most poor villagers couldn't afford.
[Are you finally going to start?]
(Of course, he is, our Leo wouldn't waste this chance.)
Ifrit and Dravanna's energy slowly recovered each day that passed.
However, they still couldn't use their ability to manifest a spiritual form and remained in his soul chamber, watching the world through Leonhardt's eyes.
"I don't want to destroy everything, those two kids are here..." He focused on the small village, a simple place with rows of buildings made from wooden logs and mud, and thought about the couple who ran the skewer stall.
Despite being a monster, the logical mind inside him also understood the need for various skilled people when building up a country; the unique herbs and spices used could be cultivated in his dungeon once he got the right seeds. Then, if lucky, Leonhardt believed that his dungeon would improve them.
Tap!
Leonhardt opened the dungeon System, with his current DP at 192,500 and rising, the amount shared among Zafira, Gobomir, and Olgana was roughly half that.
He flicked through the dungeon pages until landing on a specific spot—monsters.
"Let's see what I have to work with..."
[Ember Goblin 150 DP]
[Ebonfire Goblin 200 DP]
[Shadow Wolf 300 DP]
The cost of monsters changed depending on their link and bond to certain races and their strength.
Thanks to the growth of Gobomir and Gobbolas, the cost should be roughly 300 DP for the original combat type of goblin.
He gained a massive fifty percent discount due to his bond with them. However, the goblins Leonhardt created to help with more mental tasks and magic should cost the same, but gained a one-hundred per cent discount.
"Phew..."
[You have Summoned 100 Ember Goblins]
[You have Summoned 50 Ebonfire Goblins]
[You have summoned 20 Shadow wolves]
A total of 31,000 DP disappeared, leaving him roughly at 161,500 DP, which should be enough for him to summon something special... But he chose to spend it elsewhere, traps and walls reinforcing the underground layers while crafting a small cave hidden in the forest to the west of this little village.
Not only that...
"Phew, now all the land from here to the human city are mine, all monsters slain and actions taken will contribute to the growth of our kingdom. Good."
Leonhardt pressed several tabs, looking at the auction house and wondering if he should buy some monster cores to enhance the strength of Olga and Nyxara.
How should I help Olga grow stronger?
The Ravenfist orcs were strong, had a powerful body and the ability to unleash dark lighting magic through their marking, though its main benefit allowed them to gather mana to deal a decisive blow with their marked arm.
"Olga is different though... her marking is special."
He peeked through the curtain at the sleeping women, one curled into a ball, the other now clean but still convusling after their night of pleasure.
A window flickered the moment he turned to Olga, and his breath slowed as if locked in thought about what to do next.

Although Olga wasn't the strongest of the women around him, the level of growth and potential she could gain with the level gap brought a different idea to Leonhardt. With his parallel thoughts, he could constantly assess and consider new angles.
"Let's boost her magic, both dark and lightning elements."
[Oh? So you're going to make Olga a combat troop, unlike Lina? That poor Cleric...]
We both know Lina will insist on the same...
(Leon... do you need help training this girl? Her aptitude for dark magic and shadows is quite impressive. If you don't mind, when I have recovered, would you let me speak to her?)
Dravanna's voice sounded different from her usual self, a sense of excitement and delight, and thus, he couldn't bring himself to deny her. The huge raven tattoo on Olga's body also moved as if alive, or aware... If there were something hidden that could serve him well and protect her, then he wouldn't turn it down.
"Of course, it seems Olga's marking is unique from the other Ravenfists."
(Thank you for your trust.)
Leonhardt stepped back into the room, a mix of scents from the two women, sweet and slightly musky due to Nyxara's faint sweat. As if to touch the beautiful women sleeping peacefully, Leonhardt reached out his hand towards their soft skin, but before he could make contact... he hesitated.
"How are Asuka and Sylvie...?"
[The pair have entered the human city posing as adventurers. Right now, there is a strong resistance to newcomers, but thankfully, thier licenses were issued in the Gladius Capital city, avoiding this issue.]
"Good."
He tapped the cheek of Olga; somehow, her face always made him want to tease her.
(How do you plan to help her grow stronger?)
Although he could probably send her to battle now and let her grow slowly, there was part of him that realised that Leonhardt's dungeon didn't have time.
Once he took the first step, the human kingdoms would snap back like a mother defending her cubs. If he took one wrong step or lacked a little preparation, then all hell would break loose.
Should I help her level personally?
A curious thought.
[It might be the most efficient, but what if you spend too much time on that and miss something?]
Ifrit... isn't that what you are here for? My cute little support fairy.
[Don't take my help for granted, I can make mistakes too!]
Well, I trust you, so don't worry.
We are in this together.
Although he gained a D-Rank as a dungeon master, Leonhardt felt he needed to grow much faster, to face the monsters in the demon world and heroes of the human realm; his strength might not be enough.
Defeating Zafira was likely his most significant obstacle.
Even without the succubi's interference, she could probably handle a dozen heroes at once using her true power.
"I'll try to help her level up through battles."
With a final look into the room, he slipped out without notice.
***
Early morning village life wasn't glamorous like Leonhardt's life. He watched the butchers, bakers, and dozens of workers all preparing for the day as the instant first light appeared over the hills.
He wore a thick cloak to conceal himself, watching and observing with a curious gaze.
"Good morning!" A man shouted; his back ached from lifting heavy objects. He worked with two other men, carrying boxes filled with fruit, grains and other produce.
"Let me help."
Leonhardt's voice rang out across the street, startling both men.
There wasn't a hidden reason to do this, but their whispered words interested him, as did rumours about his kingdom, the army, and how they were forced from their homes due to famine or other issues in the Gladius Kingdom.
Their words were bitter, and the emotions in them made Leonhardt's mind foggy, but his curiosity drove him forward.
"I heard the hero will be returning to the capital tomorrow."
Oh?
Leonhardt joined in, his muscular arms easily tossing the weighted crate onto the cart. "I thought he came to negotiate with the enemy?" He added, speaking with an accent that was closer to human.
"Ah, well apparanetly the monster who rules Luka City treated him badly." A middle-aged man said as he lifted a box filled with freshly picked grapes and placed it onto the wagon.
"Yeah, I heard too, he was insulted and had to leave."
"Eh, but I don't think the monsters would do that on purpose right?" Leonhardt wondered what the normal human's opinion was.
"True, since the mysterious monsters took control of the basin, prices dropped when trading with their merchants and even the local bandits stopped attacking wagons."
He nodded in response, listening closely as they continued discussing the situation.
"But I'm worried about my family now..." The younger man whispered.
"Because of the possible war?" The oldest male who greeted Leonhardt initially joined the conversation as they began tying down the various boxes.
"Aye, if the monsters grow tired of our foolish Lords attitude... won't that come here first?"
"Hmm... will the monsters do that?" The old man leaned in, his grey beard and bald head visible. "I heard that all the villagers and people who remained in the new kingdom cannot complain, in fact their lives improved greatly. Low tax, regular feasts and cheap salt!"
"Cheap salt!?" A woman exclaimed... "that's our biggest expense!"
Leonhardt faded away, his body sitting on the roof while enjoying a handful of fresh red grapes and oranges as the conversation continued.
It seems I won the hearts of the humans... how interesting.
