Chapter 172: Mid Stage Core Formation
Well, giving insights was only one aspect of this Eternal Dao Lotus, so it would be still useful for him in a lot of ways.
He had to find a way to take it. Leaving it wasn't an option. Holding it was equivalent to holding multiple Primordial Origin Treasures in terms of Dao insights.
He closed his eyes. It was hard to look away from it since he knew its worth, but right now he couldn't do anything, so he would not show much interest towards it.
He had to find a way to break this detection array without alerting anyone.
It was almost impossible to do it, as he had to find exact nodes and destroy them at the same time.
Given that this array was a Grade 8 detection array, it was but a foolish dream to do so. The only way he could think of taking the Eternal Dao Lotus away was to pluck it while letting himself get discovered and teleporting away before anyone in the sect could react.
This was quite dangerous. The time required for Tribulation Ascendance to act would be almost instant. He might get killed before he could use a Minor or Major teleportation talisman.
So he had to find the perfect timing when they were not in the sect or distracted in something which would be enough for him to teleport away.
There was a way to accomplish this, so he wasn't overly worried.
Lin Feng went back to the small hall and sat down on the wooden seat. He was close to his breakthrough. It would take just a few hours.
Since he didn't need to overly concentrate on cultivating, he didn't mind getting distracted by someone coming inside.
He started absorbing the yin bead and kept his attention on his core. Slowly, it was getting filled with yang qi strands. His bones were also getting refined together.
He would have stopped his body cultivation to speed up his qi cultivation if he wasn't confident that he would be able to complete both easily before the given time.
Gradually, time passed, and in 2 hours, nothing happened. No one came to take their spirit herbs or plant them.
He was exactly on the cusp of breakthrough. At this stage, he stopped and closed the entrance, barring anyone from entering. He didn't want to get distracted while breaking through. It wouldn't affect him much even if someone came, as his concentration wasn't weak, but why take chances.
Those who came in this time period could just wait outside for a few minutes, or they could leave, their choice.
The progression in core formation was simple. It was to strengthen your core, which inherently allowed it to hold more spirit qi.
The amount of total spirit qi inside his core was already higher in terms of a peak-stage Core Formation cultivator due to it being yang qi, so his core was already strong enough to be termed as peak-stage Core Formation... but in reality, he was still at the early stage.
Lin Feng finally absorbed the last amount of yang qi needed to initiate the breakthrough to the Mid stage, as his core was already filled to the brim. The last strand of qi was enough to stretch the core.
The stretching thinned the core walls, but since the core was already made of qi, it absorbed more to heal itself. All Lin Feng had to ensure was that he filled his core more faster than it used qi to heal itself.
This process would keep stretching the core till it reached the point where it would stabilize due to it reaching the predestined size for the mid stage of Core Formation.
The process went for at least 5 minutes before he finally broke through, and his core itself expanded a little while absorbing the required amount of spirit qi from nature now.
Lin Feng took a small breath and stood up. He clenched his fist. The increase in physical strength due to refining his bones gave a unique feeling. It felt like he could break this whole mountain in half, although this was just a sweet illusion.
Nonetheless, it had been a while since he had a good battle. He just hoped that there would be something in the Inheritance site to fulfill his wish, although the chances were low.
If he was at the Early Stage, then he might have enjoyed some challenge, but at the Late Stage, which he was aiming to achieve, it wouldn't be possible.
He went and opened the entrance. It was still empty, so no one had come. That was good.
Well, given very few disciples had left in the core sect, it wasn't too surprising that not many came to visit.
He went to the seat and started cultivating slowly while also opening the register to see the prices required to plant spirit herbs inside the spirit field.
—Prices per Grade
Grade 1 - 1 spirit stones per 10 days.
Grade 2 - 2 spirit stones per 10 days.
Grade 3 - 5 spirit stones per 10 days.
Grade 4 - 10 spirit stones per 10 days.
Grade 5 - 25 spirit stones per 10 days.
Grade 6 - 60 spirit stones per 10 days.
Grade 7 - 200 spirit stones per 10 days.
Grade 8 - 600 spirit stones per 10 days.
Grade 9 - 2000 spirit stones per 10 days.
It seemed like he had to stroll the whole spirit field to see all the spirit herbs. If there were some rare Grade 7, 8, and 9 herbs, then he didn't mind taking them.
Just as he closed the book, two disciples who were plucking the weeds inside the spirit field came to him.
"Senior, we have removed the weeds." After saying that, they stood up, waiting for him to say something.
Lin Feng nodded, "Tell me what you guys usually do?"
The two disciples looked at each other, and one of them spoke, "We pluck weeds every three days, water the spirit herbs one time with spirit pond water, and register the names."
Lin Feng sighed. It wasn't easy to water all the spirit herbs in this big spirit field, so it might take more than half a day for them to do so, even if they sprinkled the water instead of going for every herb.
