"Senior is wise, this junior has yet to understand the mystery of Heaven," Bai Long tried to butter things up but it was of no leaf, pun intended.

He hurried toward the Calamity Ice Lotus, and as he neared, he sensed the icy law beginning to chill his very soul.

"Eeshh... So cold. It feels like my soul is slowly being frozen. This must be the Law of Ice that Calamity Ice Lotus comprehended after it received Calamity enlightenment," Bai Long shivered, feeling goosebumps all over his body. He could feel his blood slowing down and his Qi getting weaker.

"Senior?!" he shouted, but no reply came from the mirror.

"It seems this mirror can only work within the mist or maybe the mirror is weakened..." Bai Long muttered to himself.

After that, he reached a point where he saw a bright glow of blue light, slowly illuminating the white mist.

It was a strange sight. There were three divine beasts.

A divine rat clad in a celestial robe with profound runes floating around him, with the aura of a sage.

A divine monkey with three heads, one head with a serene look, and the other two with a menacing look. They were playing chess, and it was clear that they were discussing something of great importance. Their conversation was filled with laughter and seriousness.

And finally, a mystical Reindeer with jade-like skin and swan-like grace.

Looking at it, it's clear that the Shifu rat shall test the intelligence. But it remained unknown who would test the strength and Dao Heart.

"Haha, that Bai Huan really hit a stone in search of silver," Bai Long couldn't help but laugh at Bai Huan who decided to take a long route to avoid these three beasts.

"No, No... I know this is a common trope. While I am being stopped by beasts and their attention is on me, Bai Huan can technically steal the lotus and run away. Also, these beasts are merely guarding the cave, who knows how many holes does it has..." Bai Long instantly stopped smiling and turned serious.

With a sinister smile, he walked forward.

Three beasts were instantly attracted by his presence. The Reindeer lifted its head and looked at him, its eyes glowing with an icy blue light. The three-headed monkey stopped playing and focused its attention on him.

Bai Long could feel their gazes piercing through him, as if they were trying to read his soul. He stood there, unmoving, his heart pounding in his chest.

He didn't want to make any sudden moves that might provoke them.

"The Might of Heaven, the grace of the divine, What's brought you to this neck of the peak?" The rat asked without opening its mouth. The voice magically appeared on Bai Long's head.

It felt like the rat was speaking to him telepathically.

"This humble Daoist is here for the Calamity Ice Lotus, seniors. I am in search of a cure for my father. He is severely injured and needs the healing properties of the lotus to survive. I come from a very poor family, and my family is always bullied by others..." Bai Long spoke respectfully, bowing his head, making lies as if he were merely plucking fruit.

"The cure you seek is the lotus. Yet, I must test you, for only those who are worthy shall claim it," the monkey replied, its three heads nodding in unison.

"Test!? Senior, I am not here to take the lotus by force, but if I must, I shall accept the test. Please let me know what I must do," Bai Long said with a smile on his face.

"Hah! Hah! You humans always make such a fool of yourselves, trying to make others pity you. It's disgusting," the Reindeer spoke in a cold and detached voice. Its eyes never left Bai Long's face.

The eyes of reindeer, pure as a lake and deep as an ocean could see through truth and lies.

Bai Long could see the disdain in the Reindeer's eyes. He knew that he couldn't fool it with his words. The Reindeer was not like other beasts. It was more intelligent, more aware of the world. Perhaps, it could see through his lies.

Bai Long had taken a psychology class from someone and knew how to make perfect lies by keeping his heart cold as ice, and maintaining an upright body language.

Who said liars dare not look in the eyes!?

"Look at this one, so arrogant and greedy. It's impossible to catch all stars with one hand." The Senior rat stroked his long beard.

"I shall intimately gauge the depths of your intellect; three questions shall I present, and your responses shall illuminate the path ahead. Thus, let us proceed..."

"Question 1: During the era of spiritual harmony, the Jade Emperor had taken a bath in the Yellow River and managed to obtain enlightenment, what enlightenment was it!?"

Just as he was about to say, Nirvana enlightenment the voice from the mirror echoed.

"Since then the words; even if you jump into the Yellow River, you can't wash yourself clean, echoed through nine realms." The Mirror added.

"Hmm, the tales of heaven and echo of past... How wonderful." The Senior rat nodded his tiny head.

"Now for the second question; Yin Hua, Fu Ying, and Cai Mu are three sisters of fate, who are always troubled by who is far more useful and most needed one, what might be the correct answer..." The senior rat asked.

'Three Sisters of fate!? Wasn't it from Hindu mythology; Laxmi Sarswati and Parvati!?'

'If I am not wrong, the three sisters of fate are also in Greek mythology..."

He was about to say that all three are of equal importance in world balance but, the voice came from the mirror.

"Woaa-" Bai Long opened his eyes only to see Senior Rat and Reindeer looking confused.

"His soul!? It's gone..." Rat spoke.

Reindeer was little sacred, the three-headed monkey was far stronger than him, and now his soul is gone leaving behind only the mortal dust.

Could it be that this guy is the reincarnation of someone stronger!?

If so, how could the monkey even forcefully enter inside his sea of consciousness!?

It doesn't make any sense and Reindeer didn't want any sense.

Bai Long went inside and looked at the shimmering, dazzling, Calamity Ice lotus. The petals were like frozen in time and space untouched by impurity.
