[Day 1]

Asahi took a snack break to recover some energy. Although his Mythic skill was stupidly good, it left him severely hungry and exhausted. Klyscha wasn’t lying about his body and soul failing to keep up with his near Demigod-level mind.

‘Three more hours before school ends. Klyscha, I wanna test weapons.’

The only weapon he had ever picked in his life was a baseball bat. Finding a compatible weapon today would be easier than tomorrow, when all the chaos would unfold.

(What do you have in mind?)

‘Lemme go to the gymnasium first.’

He made a quick detour to the school dojo and found it devoid of any presence. Selecting a wooden katana from the weapon stand, he began to mimic the motions of a swordsman. Although he had never used a katana before, his moves looked surprisingly adept for a rookie. The Mythic Skill had greatly improved his mind-to-muscle connection, allowing him to execute what his mind envisioned with remarkable precision.

He held the wooden katana in a quick draw stance and slashed the air before him. “I’m not feeling it.”

(Dual katanas?)

He took another katana in his other hand and immediately put them back in the stand. “Nope. I don’t like this.”

(How about some unga bunga greatsword?)

Klyscha’s words evoked the image of a gritty armored man swinging a massive sword in battles against demons and various monstrosities. “As cool as that looks,  the Dragon Slayer will kind of suck here.”

The two-handed slab of metal would be almost impossible to use in cramped indoors, where he’d spend most of his time. Then there was also the inconvenience of carrying a sword that massive and heavy.

(My love would look so cool with it…)

‘Stop drooling, Klyscha.’

Klyscha coughed. (Do you have any other weapon type in mind?)

“Make me a wooden variant of every weapon class. I’ll test them before making a decision.”

(It’ll cost about 20 KP for each weapon.)

‘No worries.’

He still had about 22,600 KP on him. Spending 200 Karma wouldn’t impact his pocket. On the other hand, having a right weapon would boost his undead killing and grant him tons of Karma.

Thus began the test to find the ultimate weapon for killing undead.

Tack! Tack! Tack! The sound of hollow wooden dummies being thoroughly abused filled the dojo.

His desired weapon needed to have the attack power to pulverize an undead’s head or a blade sharp enough to behead them.

His second priority for the weapon was the blood factor. The stench of blood was unbearable to him. An undead’s rotten blood would be even more gross. He had to find a weapon that didn’t cover him in blood with every kill. He couldn’t seduce ladies if he always smelled like a butcher.

Above all, the weapon had to carry an aesthetic that resonated with his sense of style. All practicality was useless if he couldn’t feel a connection with the weapon.

After a rigorous testing session, Asahi felt a distinct pull towards three weapons — dual daggers for their ease of use, battle ax for devastating impact in a handy size, and spear for long-range and extremely high skill ceiling.

(I know the weapons you have in mind. Currently, you can only wield one of them with your current strength. I’ll show you.)

[Dagger of Time (Mythic):

A concept dagger based on the Dagger of Time wielded by the youngest son of King Shahmaran, most famously known by his title Prince of Persia.

—Catalyst Conversion (Passive Skill): The dagger absorbs the essence of your mana and converts it into the primordial substance known as Sands of Time. The Sands records the flow of time

—Time Manipulation (Active Skill): The dagger can consume Sands of Time to seamlessly manipulate the Fabric of Time in various ways, such as reverse, stop, or slow the flow of time.

Price — 499,999 KP]

His goddess wife just called him broke in every language. He could bring out the full power of the dagger, yet he lacked the KP to buy it.

Shaking his head, he sighed. “I’ll get it someday. Can you show me the ax and spear on my mind?”

[Leviathan Ax (Legendary): Made by the Huldra Brothers, Brok and Sindri, who also created Thor’s Mjolnir. Infused with the echoing screams of twenty frost trolls, Leviathan Ax is a mystical weapon for giants and beings with comparable strength.

—Frost Edge (Active Skill): Using the power of mystical runes, the weapon can imbue itself with Frost. Activation of mystical runes consumes mana.

—Recall (Active Skill): The wielder can recall the Leviathan ax to their hand as long as they are in the same dimension.

—Blood of Frost Trolls (Passive Skill): Every hit you land on a target strengthens the cold effect of Frost Edge.

Price — 149,999 KP]

“Sheesh, it’s perfect for killing zombies. Though I doubt I can wield it like that depressed daddy.”

He might have three times the strength of an average man, but compared to Kratos he may as well be a toddler.

‘I’ll get there one day.’

(No, my love. You’ll surpass him.)

‘For Klyscha’s booty!’

(Hai!)

Another system notification showed up, revealing the details of his desired spear.

[Gae Bolg (Legendary): The spear handcrafted with the remains of a Divine Beast by the Warrior Scáthach.

—Heartseeker (Passive Skill): The spear bends the law and causality to skewer the target’s heart. A target with overwhelming luck can dodge the attack.

—Thirty Garbs of Underworld (Active Skill): After skewering someone, the wielder can activate this skill to explode the spearhead into thirty garbs.

—Curse of the Dead Gods (Passive Skill): The soul latched onto the core of Gae Bolg burns hotter the more it is used.

Price — 169,999 KP]

“Noice!”

(Noice!)

He chuckled. “It’s definitely overkill for zombies, even if they’re a special type. I’ll save it for the next world.”

(Are you fine with cheap replicas of these weapons to practice your skills?)

‘Walmart versions? Alright, let’s see what you cooked.’

The opportunity to familiarize himself with the weight, balance, and skills associated with each weapon archetype—even in a diminished capacity—was invaluable. It was a chance to lay the groundwork for the day he could wield their legendary counterparts, a day he looked forward to with determination.

A series of System notifications rose and blocked his vision.

[Baruka’s Dagger (Rare): The legacy of the Warlord Baruka, who ruled the ice elves for centuries using his tyrannical might. Grants +10 Dexterity and +5 Strength to the wielder.

—Ice Elf’s Scorn (Passive Skill): Baruka despised every race, as such he scorned their blood. Every droplet of blood the dagger touches would freeze instantaneously.

—Frigid Flash (Active Skill): The dagger launches a frenzy of eleven attacks. The attacks will become sharper and deadlier if the wielder imbues the dagger with their mana.

—Glacial Blade (Active Skill): Consumes mana to cover the edge of the dagger in a layer of frost.

Price — 1499 KP]

[Primeval Axe (Rare): An ax forged from the essence of those taken by Primeval Spirits. Grants +10 Strength and +5 Magic to the wielder.

—Primeval Mode (Active Skill): Imbuing the ax with mana drenches it in the aura of Primeval. In Primeval Mode, the ax launches a coordinated attack with the wielder; the coordinated attack is always of the Darkness element.

—Mark of Primeval (Passive Skill): While in the Primeval Mode, the wielder can freely adjust the weight of the ax between 20% to 200%.

—Entrenched Grasp (Active Skill): While in the Primeval Mode, the wielder can throw the ax to send it into the embrace of Primeval Spirits residing in the outer dimension. If the Primeval Spirits accepts your mana sacrifice, they’ll launch the ax at your target with the force of a giant.

Price — 1499 KP]

[Icy Fang of Frost Troll (Rare): A halberd refined from the fang of a Frost Troll. Grants +10 Strength to the wielder.

—Stasis Shield (Active Skill): Condenses mana at the tip of the halberd to create a multi-layered shield of ice.

—Crimson Rain (Passive Skill): Coating the halberd in fresh blood enhances its attack power and durability by up to 200%.

Price — 1499 KP]

(They aren’t one to one replicas for their abilities.)

‘I can’t complain when they are so cheap… Klyscha, did you just use the price anchoring tactic?’

(Ufufu, I’m a genius at selling products. I’ll suck you dry of every point of Karma and every droplet of milk.)

‘You can try.’

(Ummm, last time was my first. I’ll enter the battlefield with more experience under my belt!)

‘Like I said, feel free to try. I’ll never lose when it comes to sex. Not even to a goddess.’

(I both love and hate your confidence…)

‘Heh. Buy me all three of these weapons.’

He’d practice combat until Shizuka became free from her duty. Taking out his phone, he typed her a message.

/Shizu Nee-san/

- Nee-san, call me when you wanna go home. I’ll come with you. -

He usually returned home on his own. Today, however, he wanted to give her a big surprise. He’d make the night her most memorable since the world would cease to exist in the same state from tomorrow.

He pocketed the phone and took a deep breath. “Let’s do this.”
