Dragon Savior A New Beginning

Chapter 45: Depths of grief: Liberated by dreams (44)

Starfania said with a smile as she skipped ahead of Daniel, who simply looked up at the sky with a sigh. As they strolled, they passed up a park, its desolate remnants still bearing scars from a fire. Daniel pointed out a spot he cherished as a child, each memory carrying a hint of nostalgia. After spending some time enjoying the scenery and listening to his stories, they wandered into a nearby shop. Feeling mischievous, Starfania spotted a pair of oversized glasses and couldn't resist having some fun. Putting them on and deepening her voice approaching Daniel saying, " Pardon me, sir. Would you be interested in purchasing the largest glasses ever made? "

His face lit up with a smile as he played along. " Absolutely! I think they would look marvelous on me. "

They both burst into uncontrollable laughter, so much so that Daniel doubled over and collapsed onto the floor, laughing harder than ever. Everyone in the shop stopped what they were doing and turned to look at the scene. Giving them strange looks as if they had lost their mind. Soon Daniel's laughter became small chuckles while Starfania noticed the unexpected audience gather around them. Her face became more conscious as she looked down at Daniel, who was now getting off the floor. As they exchanged glances, they realized that the scene that unfolded before them was probably the most ridiculous thing that ever happened. He then let out a small chuckle, rubbing the back of his neck, and said, " How about we go and grab some hot chocolate? "

She whipped her head and quickly grabbed Daniel's hands, trying to get away from the prying eyes.

" That sounds amazing! Let's go now! " she said, feeling a wave of warmth at the boldness of her action. As they left the store still hands in hands, the crisp air filled their lungs. The laughter from their earlier exchange still echoed in Starfania's mind, making the atmosphere feel lighter and more carefree. As they walked through the bustling streets, their conversation drifted effortlessly from topic to topic, each step drawing them closer. The familiar scent of fresh pastries and cocoa greeted them before they stepped inside. Starfania finally looked down to see their hands still intertwined and letting go. She quickly said, " I'm so sorry I didn't realize that I did that. "

He simply looked at her with a smile on his face as he casually played it off and said. " No harm done. I was quite enjoying it. "

Starfania's face was glowing again while Daniel walked forward to open the cafe door for her. Giving him a small smile as a thank you while still trying to cool down her face. Once inside, the lady behind the counter greeted them and welcomed them to Los Rosa's Cafe. Daniel pulled out a Starfania chair in an exaggerated, playful manner. Just as they settled in, their waitress, Samantha, appeared with a friendly grin. Doing her usual greeting towards customers and suggesting Diablo Choco Milk, but both Starfania and Daniel opted out for the Dragon Fire hot chocolate. After waiting for a few moments, Samantha returned promptly, placing the steaming mug in front of them.

As Daniel took a sip, he turned to Starfania and said, " So, tell me a little about yourself. "

Completely surprised, she stammered for a moment, trying to find an interesting response. She managed to gather her thoughts and started talking about her hobbies and interests. Feeling a bit more confidence, she couldn't resist teasing him. " It's hard to believe all the girls at Firestorm High are head over heels for a rom-com guy like you. "

A blush crept up on his cheeks as he laughed. " I'm not sure I believe that, but I'll admit, I do have a soft spot for romantic comedies. "

Their laughter filled the air as they continued the playful banter. Then, with a mischievous grin, Daniel leaned in and said, " Oh, you think you can challenge me? Get ready to see how a rom-com boy really charms. "
