Dragon Savior A New Beginning

Chapter 41: Depths of grief: Liberated by dreams (40)

Leaving the kitchen, Starfania began to make her way to the staircase that led her to a shadowy corridor. Suddenly, a flash of a cavern appeared before her as she slowly looked around her surroundings. As Starfania began walking deeper, she noticed the torches were getting dimmer. Then she noticed there was a red liquid scattered across the cavern. Inspecting, she grazed the wall with her hand and brought it closer to her. Her eyes widened when she realized exactly what it was, but a cawing sound caused her to duck. Flying past her to the brighter part of the cavern, settling down on a hook. When following the crow pathway, she saw something she couldn't quite make out.

Before Starfania could get a closer look, she was brought back to reality. Her hand was on the handle of her father's office door. Her eyes were darting to different places, trying to pinpoint what she had just experienced was real or not. Deciding that she was merely going insane, she took a deep breath and prepared for whatever was to come. She turned the handle, the creaking hinges adding a layer of suspense, as she stepped into the room. Starfania was now standing in her father's study where he spends countless hours in. Taking a moment to admire her father's office from the aged books and polished wood. While in the corner stood her father's armor and sword that she always admired, and hoped that one day she could wear it. As she stared at the piece, a scene flashed before her. Instead of the black armor with a red accent, now stood a white armor that had a dragon helmet.

The black sword was now a silver color that held a sapphire gem in the guard that held the weapon together. As she continued to stare at it, a deep voice broke her out from her trance, as he asked, " Who there? "

Taking her eyes off the armor for a moment to look at Cesar, his eyes still looking down at the mountain of paperwork. Her gaze returned to the mysterious armor set just to see it was now back to the original one. Starfania, now lost in her own thoughts, said, " It's me, Dad. "

Cesar nodded, gesturing for Starfania to take a seat. Taking a seat in the oversized chair, she couldn't help but take another glance at the armor set. Wondering if her mind was still playing tricks on her. After writing a few more stuff down, his gaze finally met Starfania. His gaze pierced through the lingering silence, his calm demeanor in the stark contrast to the storm brewing inside Starfania.

Her mouth opened to speak, but no word came out. As her mind raced, trying to organize the whirlwind of thoughts that threatened to escape. Sensing the internal struggle, her father leaned forward slightly, his brows furrowing ever so slightly in concern.

" What is it? What do you desire? " he said, his tone patient yet firm, urging Starfania to break the silence. Swallowing her apprehension, she gathered her courage and met his eyes. Starfania said, " I'm here to let you know that breakfast is served. "

Starfania watched her father's expression closely and noticed a flicker of indifference in his eyes, paired with a dismissive wave of his hand.

" Go back and tell them to start without me, " he said, his tone nonchalant.
