Dragon Roar Master at Hogwarts

Chapter 52: Snape’s Veritaserum Test in the Ward

In the school doctor's room of Hogwarts, the ward that should have been quiet and empty is now very noisy because of the crowds of people.

When Harry opened his eyes, the first thing he saw was Hermione and Dudley beside the bed. When Harry woke up, the two smiled happily.

"I...this is..." Harry looked a little confused, but suddenly his expression changed and he shouted, "Wait, stop Quirrell, Snape didn't do it. It's Quirrell! He wants to steal the Philosopher's Stone!"

"Don't get excited yet, Potter." It was Professor McGonagall who spoke, looking at Harry with an extremely serious face: "Professor Quirrell can no longer hurt anyone, but the Philosopher's Stone... ..."

Harry then discovered that Hermione and Dudley were not the only ones in the ward.Ron was lying on the bed next door, seemingly fine, and behind Professor McGonagall, Professor Flitwick and Professor Sprout were talking quietly about something, looking very nervous.

Dudley smiled bitterly, poured Harry a glass of water, and comforted Harry: "You should have a good rest first, and we'll talk about anything later."

But Dudley was actually feeling bitter in his heart. He originally thought that after he intervened, knowing the plot in advance, he could thwart the villain's conspiracy in advance.Unexpectedly, the situation became worse. Voldemort successfully obtained the Sorcerer's Stone. There is simply no worse ending than this.

The biggest question in Dudley's mind was, where had Dumbledore gone, and why hadn't he appeared even after such a big thing happened? You know, even in the original work, Dumbledore came back in time to save Harry at the last moment.

"Bang!" The door to the ward was rudely opened, and Snape hurriedly walked into the ward, followed closely by Dumbledore, both of whom looked very gloomy.

"Professor!" Dudley wanted to ask where Dumbledore had gone and why he had relaxed his defense of the Philosopher's Stone. But Dumbledore ignored Dudley and just raised his hand to signal him to stop talking.

"Severus, I still don't agree with what you are doing." Dumbledore's words were completely devoid of his usual kindness and kindness. Dudley could feel the pressure emanating from him, "In the most dangerous and tense situation, At this time, we should unite and think about solutions instead of doubting our peers first."

"Albus, have you confirmed it? Is there anything in the mirror..." Professor McGonagall asked Dumbledore worriedly, but in response to her, Dumbledore shook his head solemnly.

"Albus Dumbledore! Are you still saying such things at this time?" Snape looked very excited and shouted at Dumbledore: "You believed in Quirrell so much before, but But it resulted in this result! I have always had great respect, loyalty, and trust in you. But now it seems that I have to consider using my own way to solve the problem."

"What problem should be solved?" McGonagall seemed dissatisfied with Snape's attitude of yelling at Dumbledore, "And why do you ask us to all gather in this ward? If the Sorcerer's Stone is lost, we should take action immediately , rather than disturbing the injured students’ rest here.”

"What I am doing now is looking for the Philosopher's Stone." Snape said in a low and sinister voice, while his deep eyes roamed over the people in the ward: "To be precise, I want to catch the person who stole the Philosopher's Stone." The murderer is here!"

Professor McGonagall looked at Snape with disbelief: "Are you doubting us? Severus, here are all colleagues who have been with us for many years, as well as innocent students. Do you think we will do it for this illusory gold?" And longevity..."

"Of course you won't, Minerva." Snape said through gritted teeth, then paused, as if he had made up his mind, and pulled up his sleeve, exposing his left arm.

"But it's obvious that 'he' needs this magic stone, and judging from the reappearance of this symbol, it seems that he has succeeded, or is infinitely close to succeeding!"

Although Dudley and the others couldn't see what Snape was exposing, McGonagall took a few steps back as if he'd seen a ghost and turned pale.Professors Flitwick and Sprout's eyes were wide with horror on their faces.

"Albus, could it be that that person..."

"Unfortunately, it seems that what we were most worried about has happened." Dumbledore responded to McGonagall's question gently.

"But things may not be as bad as you think. The use of the Philosopher's Stone has extremely complicated and long steps, and it also requires a variety of rare materials. I have just set up a barrier with Professor Snape to seal off the school... ..."

"The premise is that we can catch him and his followers!" Snape interrupted Dumbledore rudely. "We can't seal the school forever and prevent students from leaving. So this is what I will do next. The reason for doing this, you... No, we are the ones most likely to get the magic stone in the school, I have to consider whether there are any subordinates of that person among us!"

You are wrong, another of Voldemort's subordinates is Peter Pettigrew!Dudley wanted to tell everyone the truth, but gave up.He knew that in the eyes of others, Peter Pettigrew was the hero killed by Sirius. If he said it rashly, according to Snape, he might become the most suspicious object.

"Severus, I still stand by my point of view. No one here has any reason to follow Voldemort. Your suspicion is groundless." Dumbledore said slowly.

But Snape did not respond to him. Instead, he quickly placed several cups on the table, filled them with water, and then took out a small emerald green bottle from his arms.

"Perhaps none of you will be Death Eaters...but only if you are not disguised by someone else." Snape said in a hoarse voice, "The archetypal manifestation spell is the easiest way to identify, but I found that it didn't seem to be effective enough against prepared dark wizards...at least I didn't get much effect on Quirrell."

"Fortunately, for some reason, I had long been thinking about a more accurate way to break the Polyjuice Potion... There is no doubt that Veritaserum is a more direct and effective method, the only drawback is that it requires Prepare a month in advance.”

At this point, Snape glanced at Dudley. Dudley knew that this Veritaserum was actually prepared for Quirrell, but it was no longer necessary.

Snape dropped a drop of Veritaserum into the cup, then raised the cup and drank it in one gulp, and said slowly: "My name is Severus Snape, you see, you all follow my example. Do."

Dumbledore sighed and drank the water mixed with Veritaserum in the cup for the second time: "I am Dumbledore himself, please be satisfied, Severus."

Snape ignored him and turned to look at the others, so starting with Professor McGonagall, everyone took turns drinking the water dripping with Veritaserum and introducing themselves.Snape poured glass after glass of water with one hand solemnly, and then poured veritaserum into them, while holding the wand tightly with his other hand.

"...I am Harry Potter." After Harry also successfully passed the test, Dudley was the only one who had not passed the Veritaserum test.

"Your turn, Dudley Dursley." Snape handed over a full glass of water.

Dudley took a deep breath, then closed his eyes and drank it all in one gulp. The liquid in the cup had no special taste and was just like ordinary water.

"My name is da...da...da..."

Dudley was about to say his name, but suddenly he felt breathless. The simple word was stuck in his throat and he couldn't say it.

Everyone present looked at Dudley in confusion, but Snape's expression changed and he raised his wand and pointed it at Dudley: "Speak louder! Who is your name? Is it Dudley Dursley?"

"My...my name is Rollin, I'm not Dudley Dursley!"
