Dragon King Palace: Urban Affluent Son-in-Law

Chapter 744: A Drink With You!

Over twenty minutes later, Situ Yan had finished making a few of her specialty dishes.

They were all quick and tasty cold dishes: cold cucumber salad, drunken peanuts, egg with ham, and a plate of cold century eggs.

"Want to have some wine?" Situ Yan asked with a smile, in good spirits.

"We're working tonight, what are you drinking for?" Jiang Feng frowned.

Not letting women drink was his iron rule, and the last time Situ Yan got drunk was still vivid in his memory—wasn't that lesson enough?

When this woman started acting drunk, she threw all appearances out the window.

"Have a drink, take a nap in the afternoon, and you'll be sober by evening."

Situ Yan shrugged it off, very much determined to drink since Jiang Feng told her not to.

So, she returned to the kitchen and brought back a bottle of white wine, along with two small porcelain bowls, smiling as she said, "It's rare for you to join me on a mission, consider this a Farewell Wine!"

"Nonsense, put the wine back, no drinking!" Jiang Feng said firmly, standing up to take the wine away.

But Situ Yan dodged immediately, glaring at Jiang Feng: "Hey, this is my home; I call the shots. Don't ruin the fun!"

Then, she put down the bowls and poured a small amount of wine into each.

"It's not very strong, just a little sip for the spirit~"

She didn't really want to make Jiang Feng angry, so her tone turned a bit playful and pleading towards the end.

Jiang Feng, hearing her say this, didn't want to forcibly dampen her mood.

Besides, she promised she'd only drink this little bit, so it shouldn't be a problem.

"Come on, let's toast, hoping for a smooth operation tonight, and hoping Niu Tao can help you find the killer soon."

Situ Yan raised her bowl with a smile, clinking it with Jiang Feng's as she spoke.

She particularly enjoyed this feeling of drinking with Jiang Feng, though it wasn't a candlelit dinner, it felt quite bold, fitting her personality.

Jiang Feng, with no other choice, raised his bowl, clinked it with hers, and took a sip.

Situ Yan also tilted her head back for a small sip, her fair cheeks instantly blushing red.

"You're not good with alcohol, don't force yourself. Eat something," Jiang Feng said, stopping her hand.

"Who says I can't drink?" Situ Yan gave Jiang Feng a sidelong glance.

Her snowy white hand was held by Jiang Feng, truly as soft and smooth as silk.

At this moment, her neck was like a white swan, her teeth perfect and gleaming, her elegant eyebrows curved beautifully, her smile charming, eyes enchanting—showcasing her stunning beauty to the fullest.

Jiang Feng, for some reason, suddenly recalled a phrase: "Red silky hands, bright yellow wine, spring all over the city looking at the palace wall willow!"

At that moment, Jiang Feng directed his gaze downward, focusing inward, saying no more, and just sat back to eat.

Unexpectedly, this time Situ Yan didn't sit across from him but instead sat by his side, shoulder to shoulder.

Situ Yan seemed quite at ease, setting down her small porcelain bowl and picking up her chopsticks to eat.

The faint musk-like scent coming from her made Jiang Feng turn his head, feeling a bit awkward and embarrassed.

He had come to her house with no such intentions, yet things seemed to have taken a different turn...

The next moment, even more surprising to Jiang Feng was Situ Yan, putting a piece of food into her mouth, slowly stretching her enticing lips as she straightened her legs.

Her pale, long legs were close against Jiang Feng's, almost touching, beneath the flawless skin, even the fine blue veins were visible.

Her petite, fair feet dangled in her sandals, with most of the sole exposed at the front, her supple and delicate ankles, and naturally pink toes, appeared even more stunning.

Jiang Feng suddenly felt like sitting on pins and needles, intentionally averting his eyes, lowering his head to concentrate on the food.

To his surprise, a slice of century egg was brought to his lips, and with a frown, he saw it was Situ Yan offering it.

She held her chopsticks with slender, jade-like fingers, seriously saying, "Open up."

Jiang Feng hesitated, about to use his own chopsticks to take the century egg, but Situ Yan insisted, placing it directly into his mouth.

Then, the warm, fragrant white hand retracted, and Situ Yan tasted the chopsticks with satisfaction.

"If you want to look, just look. No guts for the game," she said, somewhat teasingly.

Immediately, Jiang Feng put down his chopsticks, realizing this meal was bound to be a struggle...

In fact, how often had Situ Yan not been infuriated when she was with Jiang Feng?

This jerk couldn't even accept her when she practically threw herself at him!

How many nights had she spent lying awake just thinking about him?

Clearly, in his heart, he cared about her a lot; like this time, he volunteered to accompany her undercover.

Yet he just had to pretend, acting like a gentleman, unshakeable, unmoved.

She already said, even if he did something wrong to her, she wouldn't hold him responsible, nor let Nangong Qingcheng know. What was he still restraining for?

In this matter, he simply didn't act like a man!

"What did I look at? Just eating," Jiang Feng replied to her deliberate teasing, feigning ignorance, and continued eating.

Situ Yan snorted coldly, immediately fuming again, gulping down a sip of wine, and silently crunching peanuts.

The crunchiness seemed as if she wanted to chew Jiang Feng along with the peanuts.

Throughout the meal, they remained in a stifling and awkward atmosphere.

Most of the small dishes were finished, and the wine in their bowls was gone too.

Situ Yan's face turned even rosier, her eyes flashing with sparkles looking at Jiang Feng could almost drip water.

"I want more, pour me some,"

Situ Yan, already tipsy, giggled, pushing the bowl again for Jiang Feng to pour more wine.

Jiang Feng rebuked, "No more, you're already tipsy. Go to sleep, I'll clean up here..."

However, before he finished, he sighed wryly.

Because, in a fit, Situ Yan, hadn't heard a word he said, already lay sprawled across the sofa armrest.

This girl, still the same unreliable nature, sleeping just like that!

With no other choice, Jiang Feng had to scoop her up by her rounded shoulders, carrying her to her bed.

Afterwards, Jiang Feng came back out.

He tidied up the stuff on the coffee table, took a shower, and then returned to the sofa.

Glancing at the time, just two in the afternoon, he felt uneasy leaving, so he decided to nap on the living room sofa, to regain some energy.
