Broly stood frozen. His massive frame trembled as his eyes clouded over with confusion and rage.
With no target in sight, he didn't know how to release the violent storm boiling inside him. His chest rose and fell like a wild beast, each breath blasting from his nostrils in short, ragged bursts.
Years of buried hatred, hatred for Son Goku, had finally erupted when he laid eyes on Son Gohan.
Mistaking Gohan for the man who haunted his every nightmare, Broly had unleashed his full fury. Everything he had, every scar, every scream, was poured into his assault on the one who resembled Kakarot.
And now… they were gone.
Vanished without a trace.
Only one thought remained in his mind: Find them.
He scanned every inch of the battlefield, searching, desperate not to overlook even the faintest clue.
"KAKARROOOOT!!!" He roared, voice shaking the very air.
His howl tore through the sky like thunder.
Rumble! Rumble!
Raw, uncontained energy exploded from his body, slamming into the ground where Gohan had fallen only moments earlier. The earth fractured under the pressure, sand and rock blasted skyward in violent waves of destruction. Light flared across the wasteland, erasing the last traces of the battle.
Broly couldn't understand it. Gohan's sudden disappearance made no sense. And in his fury, all he could do was destroy everything in sight.
Far above, Babidi and Majin Buu hovered in the sky, watching the chaos unfold.
"Look over there, Majin Buu," Babidi said, pointing at the raging warrior below. "That's Broly."
He spoke with an almost giddy pride, like a collector showing off his most dangerous prize.
Majin Buu squinted, his eyes narrowing into playful crescents. "He on our team?" he asked, tilting his head.
Babidi grinned eagerly. "Of course he is! Without him, I wouldn't have revived you so easily!"
But just as he finished speaking,
"Then why's he flying at us?" Buu asked, pointing behind them.
Babidi froze and a massive shadow loomed, Broly was hurtling straight toward them.
"Damn it! He's lost control again!" Babidi cursed, voice rising in panic. He immediately began to chant, pouring all his magical power into a control spell to rein Broly back in.
But Broly didn't even flinch.
He just kept coming. Babidi's heart dropped. His magic wasn't working.
"Buu! Help me!" He screamed, his voice cracking as Broly closed in like an avalanche of rage.
But Majin Buu only blinked. He floated off to the side, watching the scene unfold with mild interest… as if curious to see how Babidi would be crushed.
The truth was, Buu had long resented Babidi. The threats of being sealed again, the constant orders, none of it sat well with him. He never truly recognized Babidi as his master.
Now, with the tables turned, Buu simply looked away and he even pretended to tremble in fear. Babidi stared in disbelief. The same Majin Buu who was once feared as the demon of legend, now shrinking back like a coward?
It didn't make sense. Nothing made sense. And then, just as Broly was about to end him, a thick cloud of smoke burst into the air, blinding everything in its path.
Out of the smoke came a monstrous shadow. A new terror had entered the battlefield.
Hirudegarn.
The phantom demon emerged in full form, its colossal body towering like a nightmare given shape.
With a wild, sweeping motion, Hirudegarn swung his massive arm.
CRASH!
Broly's out-of-control form was smashed into the ground like a meteor while Babidi, pale as a ghost, could only gape. But slowly, as the dust settled and he realized he was still alive, color returned to his face.
He began to breathe again.
And with that breath, his trembling stopped.
He turned and flashed a sinister grin at the giant looming behind him.
"Well done, Hirudegarn. My perfect little toy!"
Hirudegarn responded by raising one colossal foot, ready to crush the unconscious Broly beneath it.
"Wait! Hirudegarn!" Babidi shouted, halting him at the last second.
He narrowed his eyes at Broly's fallen form and quickly began chanting a dark incantation. Within moments, the berserk energy surging from Broly abruptly calmed, and he reverted to his base state.
Back in his normal form, Broly looked like a completely different person. The savage expression from earlier had vanished, replaced by a hollow, exhausted face. He panted heavily, barely staying upright.
Clenching his teeth, Broly glared up at Hirudegarn with unfiltered hatred.
And it wasn't just the giant that drew his rage, he turned his scowl on Babidi and even Majin Buu, eyes burning with resentment.
Babidi sighed inwardly.
(Tch… he's getting harder and harder to control. It took me seven full years to subjugate him, and now it's starting to slip… Still, as long as he's useful, I can work with it.)
With that, Babidi turned and gave Majin Buu an annoyed glance.
"Hey! Buu! Why didn't you help me earlier?" He snapped.
But Majin Buu's demeanor had completely changed. Gone was the cowardly act from before. Now, he glared wide-eyed at Broly, his body tense and brimming with displeasure.
Clearly, Buu hadn't taken kindly to Broly's hostile stare.
Babidi blinked. That reaction caught him off guard.
(Was Buu just pretending earlier…?)
The thought briefly crossed his mind. But as he looked again at Buu's puffy, childlike face, he brushed the idea aside.
(Forget it. I'm probably just overthinking things.)
He shifted his gaze to the monstrous trio before him, Broly, Buu, and Hirudegarn, and a wave of twisted satisfaction washed over him. He had assembled three of the most fearsome beings in the universe.
And that gave birth to an even more ambitious idea.
He wouldn't stop here. He would find and control even more powerful warriors, evil or not. With a force like this, he wouldn't just conquer Earth, he'd dominate the entire Multiverse.
"Hahaha! Coming to Earth was the best decision I ever made!" Babidi howled gleefully.
"Not only did I revive Majin Buu, but I gained control of Hirudegarn too! So first, we'll wipe out Earth… and then, step by step, my plan to conquer the entire Multiverse begins!"
…
Atop the Lookout, Videl stood tensely in front of Mr. Popo, sensing the anxiety weighing on him.
"Mr. Popo… did something happen? Did you sense something?"
Mr. Popo's face was pale and drenched in sweat. "Miss Videl… the situation is very serious."
"I can no longer sense the energy of Gohan or Trunks."
"Disappeared?" Videl's voice cracked. "What do you mean?"
Mr. Popo slowly nodded, his expression grim. As much as he didn't want to believe it, he couldn't deny what he felt, both Gohan and Trunks' energy signatures had vanished completely.
Videl's hands flew to her mouth in shock. Everything had changed so fast.
Just hours ago, they were alive… fighting… full of energy. And now, they were just… gone?
"Gohan…" Videl's voice trembled as tears welled up in her eyes. Even though they hadn't known each other long, Gohan's kindness and strength had left a deep, unforgettable impression on her heart.
Rumble… Rumble!
Suddenly, the Lookout began to shake.
The tremors weren't random, they were pulsing from below, deep inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.
Hope sparked in Mr. Popo's eyes.
The despair that had weighed him down was suddenly lifted by a single thought.
"Could it be… Vegeta?!"
