Chapter 15: The Snake Woman and the Blue Man
In a vast hall, an imposing figure stood out: a giant red ogre dressed in an immaculate purple suit.
On his head rested a round purple hat adorned with a symbol in the center and prominent horns on either side.
Endless piles of documents covered his massive desk, while the constant echo of stamps reverberated against walls adorned with intricate mystical symbols.
Suddenly, the air grew heavy, as if the very fabric of reality had been stretched.
A violet glow began pulsating at the center of the corridor ahead, creating spiraling waves of energy that danced like a miniature storm. Beams of light cut through the space, accompanied by a sharp hum that filled the room.
Enma Daioh lifted his eyes from his enormous record book. His stern expression softened momentarily, giving way to a look of irritation and resignation.
He sighed deeply, murmuring in his deep voice:
"Is it Uranai again? What does she want this time?"
Before the portal fully closed, a soft scent of incense spread through the hall, heralding the familiar arrival of Grandma Uranai.
Enma Daioh adjusted his tie, preparing himself for yet another negotiation or unexpected request. As he composed himself mentally, he noticed a curious figure emerging behind Uranai.
The young man, Kaelor, observed his surroundings with fascination, thinking to himself:
"This place is much larger than I imagined... I feel like I'm in the tale of Jack and the Beanstalk..."
Uranai coughed discreetly, as if preparing for a debate, and began with an authoritative tone:
"I'm here to request permission for this young man to train with King Kai."
Enma Daioh leaned forward, crossing his arms over the desk as he evaluated the situation with a keen gaze.
After a few seconds of reflection, he finally relented. Fulfilling the old witch's demands would earn him a valuable favor, one he knew he could cash in later.
Nodding, he declared:
"I grant permission for the young man to train with King Kai. But, Uranai, I expect you to remember this favor."
With an impassive look, Uranai turned to Kaelor and spoke with light seriousness:
"I hope you won't regret this. King Kai's training is unlike anything you've ever faced."
Kaelor, with a firm expression, replied without hesitation:
"I'm ready for any challenge."
Grandma Uranai smiled and gestured for Kaelor to follow her. She led him through a crowd of ogres to a place known as the "Snake Way."
Kaelor, impressed by the vastness of the location, couldn't hide his admiration.
However, a sense of intimidation crept over him at the same time.
"Will I have to run the entire path like Goku did?" he thought, his eyes fixed on the horizon.
Uranai, noticing his doubt, smiled and calmly explained:
"The Snake Way is about 1 million kilometers long. For comparison, the distance between Earth and the Moon is about 384,000 kilometers."
Kaelor, surprised, murmured to himself:
"1 million kilometers? Is it really that long? How long will it take me to walk all of that?"
Without wasting any time, Kaelor composed himself and shouted with determination:
"I'd better start running, then! I want to get there as soon as possible!"
He heard Uranai shouting something behind him but didn't bother to respond. Without further delay, he began his journey, feeling a mix of anxiety and excitement.
Uranai, realizing her shouts were futile, gave up the effort. She had been trying to offer him a shortcut, but since Kaelor didn't listen, she decided to return to Earth.
The Snake Way stretched across the skies, an ethereal bridge flanked by endless golden clouds. Below lay a void promising nothing but hell for those who fell. Kaelor, curious yet cautious, knew that fate was off the table—for now.
Advancing carefully, he kept his focus on the path. After some time, an unexpected obstacle appeared: a castle, majestic and imposing, floating above the clouds.
"What a magnificent house," murmured Kaelor.
Curious, he decided to investigate. However, upon approaching the entrance, he realized it was all an illusion. It was actually a giant snake, and before he could retreat, he was sucked into the creature.
Inside the snake's belly, Kaelor was greeted by a blue-skinned woman with long, straight hair, wearing a qipao. With an enigmatic smile, she welcomed him.
"Welcome, young traveler. Please, follow me."
Kaelor narrowed his eyes but maintained his composure. Pretending to be innocent, he followed the woman down a winding corridor, paying close attention to every detail.
At the end of the path, he encountered another figure: a stunning yet treacherous woman.
"This is the Serpent Princess, the mistress of this castle," the guide said before disappearing.
The princess was adorned with large purple earrings, a white fur scarf, and a purple qipao resembling snake scales. She wore white gloves and high-heeled shoes, radiating a dangerous charm.
"Come, young warrior. Sit down. I am the Serpent Princess, at your service," she said with a seductive smile.
Kaelor pretended to fall for her ploy and took a seat. The princess, satisfied with his reaction, licked her lips.
"I usually choose strong warriors, but I'll make an exception. It's been so long since I've savored a human soul..."
In the next moment, with a ferocious expression, she attacked. But Kaelor was ready. He dodged swiftly and shouted:
"Dodon Ray!"
A golden ray shot from his index finger, piercing the princess. Seizing the moment, he ran in search of an exit.
Entering a room, he found various fruits on a table, including a golden one that caught his attention. Without hesitation, he took them all and stored them in his bag.
"This should keep me fed until the end of the path," he murmured.
Rushing ahead, Kaelor reached a grand hall and spotted a pair of double doors. However, before he could reach them, the princess reappeared, enraged.
"You won't escape so easily!" she yelled.
Kaelor frowned but didn't waste time.
"Eat my Fireball!"
A sphere of fire illuminated the hall, exploding with force. Without pausing, he shouted:
"Kamehameha!"
A blue energy beam shot from his hands, neutralizing the princess once again. Without looking back, Kaelor dashed through the doors, finally reaching the exit.
Now floating in the sky, he smiled and taunted, waving his hands in mockery:
"Eat dust, stupid snake!"
From within the serpent, a roar echoed.
"Damn brat!" the princess shouted as smoke billowed from her mouth.
Kaelor continued along the Snake Way, occasionally pausing to eat the fruits he had collected.
Finally, as he neared the end, he decided to try the golden fruit. The moment he bit into it, a surge of power coursed through his body.
"Wow, this is incredible! It's like drinking the Sacred Water again!" he exclaimed in surprise.
He reflected for a moment.
"Why didn't the snake woman eat this fruit?" he thought. But then he shrugged, chalking it up to her incompetence.
At last, Kaelor spotted the end of the Snake Way. Above him, a small planet floated in the sky. He took a running leap and flew toward his new destination.
With a smile on his face, Kaelor prepared to meet King Kai.
As he approached the tiny planet, Kaelor was suddenly pulled down by a powerful gravitational force, slamming him into the ground. Surprised, he thought:
"When I was on Planet Vegeta, I didn't feel anything like this gravity!"
Catching his breath, he slowly stood up and looked around.
The planet was tiny but peculiar.
At its center was a small house with an exotic car parked in the garage—a Chevrolet Bel Air 1957, impeccably preserved.
"What an incredible car!" murmured Kaelor, admiring the shiny paint.
His attention soon turned to a peculiar-looking blue man. He had antennae on his head, wore a black robe with a symbol on the chest, sunglasses in a teashade style, and carried a relaxed expression.
Looking at the outfit and sunglasses, Kaelor smiled.
"This look reminds me of Master Roshi... Do all martial arts masters have an obsession with sunglasses?"
Summoning his courage, Kaelor approached with a sincere smile and said:
"It's a pleasure to meet you, King Kai. I'm Kaelor, and I've come here to seek your guidance."
The blue man broke into a wide grin and replied:
"Very well, young man. I'm willing to teach you. But first, I must know if you're worthy! Prove your skill by telling the best pun you know. If it's good, maybe I'll make you the greatest comedian in the universe!"
Kaelor stifled a laugh and confidently replied:
"What do you call fake spaghetti? An impasta!"
King Kai stifled his own laughter, but Kaelor noticed the effect and quickly added:
"I'm on a seafood diet. I see food... and I eat it!"
That was too much for King Kai, who burst into laughter, clutching his belly.
"Very well, very well! You've passed the test! Let's start your comedian training!" said King Kai, still laughing.
Kaelor, however, interrupted seriously:
"Actually, I came to learn martial arts from you."
King Kai's expression instantly turned to irritation.
"Why didn't you say so earlier?!"
Kaelor scratched his head and responded somewhat sheepishly:
"Well... I like puns too, so I thought it'd be a good way to start our relationship."
King Kai was speechless for a few seconds, trying to process the absurd logic of the response. Finally, he sighed, shaking his head.
"You are, without a doubt, one of the strangest disciples to ever show up here. But fine... Let's begin your real training."
