Dragon Ball Roshi

Chapter 68: Chapter 68: Rapid Improvement

In the vast darkness of space, a spaceship sped through the void at incredible speed.

Inside the gravity chamber:

30G.

The immense pressure of 30 times normal gravity pulled fiercely at Taro's body, weighing down his limbs, internal organs, and every fiber of his being. He struggled to walk across the chamber floor. Each step landed with a resounding boom.

"Our first destination is a lifeless planet with approximately 194 times normal gravity. The journey will take about a month. I must adapt to at least 150 times gravity within this time!"

Unlike Son Goku, Taro didn't have the Saiyan trait of recovering stronger from near-death experiences. Though his enhanced physique provided exceptional resilience and ki, it couldn't match the Saiyan advantage of exponential growth after healing.

When Goku traveled to Namek, he had achieved massive power boosts in mere days, thanks to that trait and the healing properties of senzu beans.

"I didn't expect 30 times gravity to be this overwhelming… Even though my wish granted me a "God-tree-like" physique, pushing my power level to nearly 2,000, I remember Goku had a power level of 5,000 to 8,000 after training with King Kai. He was far stronger when heading to Namek than I am now, even without factoring in recovery boosts…"

"Gravity training… it's not something just anyone can endure."

At that moment, Taro hardly resembled a martial arts master. He seemed more like a beginner, relearning the basics—building endurance, toughening his body, and strengthening his foundation.

He began with push-ups, performing sets of 100 repeatedly, continuing until the muscles in his arms, chest, and abdomen became completely numb.

Next, he moved to frog jumps, leaping forward under the crushing weight of 30G, lap after grueling lap, until his body gave out and he collapsed to the floor. Only after a brief rest would he move on to other exercises.

Hanging sit-ups. One-arm pull-ups.

Taro trained relentlessly, pushing his body to its limits, oblivious to the passage of time.

Gradually, the gravity chamber's intensity increased: 30G… 40G… 50G… 70G…

---

More than a month passed.

Bare-chested and wearing only shorts, Taro lay sprawled on the chamber floor under 150 times gravity. After four hours of deep sleep, his eyes snapped open.

With a resounding slap on the floor, he flipped lightly into a standing position.

"150 times gravity… I've adapted to it completely." he murmured, gazing at his hands.

Taro frowned slightly as he sensed the ki within his body. "My power has grown again… Why does my strength increase a little every time I push myself to exhaustion and rest? Is it related to my "God-tree" Physique?"

Just then, a thin display screen descended from the chamber's ceiling, projecting the Scientist's image.

"We're nearing the destination you specified…" Fabeli said, staring at Taro as if he were a monster in human form. A normal person surviving 150 times gravity? Impossible.

While picking up his tattered clothing scattered across the floor, Taro replied: "Got it. Prepare for landing."

As he exited the gravity chamber and restored its normal conditions, a profound lightness overcame his body. It felt as though he were soaring.

His entire being was brimming with power.

As Taro walked down the spaceship corridor, he absentmindedly threw punches into the air. Within a single second, nearly a hundred punches blurred into a faint shadow imperceptible to the naked eye.

He paused in thought.

By his estimation, his current power level was around 50,000. However, he recalled that after Goku's gravity training at 100 times Earth's gravity, his power had reached 90,000. Despite Taro completing 150 times gravity training, his results were nearly half of that.

He had a theory as to why.

It likely stemmed from his second wish. The body that allowed him to survive in space might also have made him more adaptable to high-gravity environments, thus diminishing the results of such training.

"Still… if I were to face Dart now, I wouldn't even need Instant Transmission. Using just a two-fold Muken, I could defeat him easily. But compared to Frieza… I'm still far behind. Even with the 32-fold Mangekyou technique, I wouldn't come close…"

Taro entered the spaceship's control room, where seven small birds immediately flew over to him, chirping noisily and fluttering around him.

"Heh… Missed me, little ones?"

---

The spaceship descended slowly toward its destination: a lifeless planet with nearly 200 times Earth's gravity. The surface was barren and pockmarked, an ugly, desolate landscape. Activating its anti-gravity field, the spaceship emitted a faint hiss as it touched down.

"This is your spacesuit." Fabeli, carrying a large box and approaching Taro cautiously.

Taro glanced at him but made no move to take the box. Instead, he asked: "Are you afraid of me?"

Fabeli gave a nervous laugh, setting the box down. "H-heh… What makes you say that? Do you even know how to put this thing on?"

Taro shook his head. "I won't need it."

"Are you crazy?!" He stared at him, incredulous. "Do you even know what kind of environment this planet has? Forget the 194 times gravity—that's obviously what you're here for—but what about oxygen? This planet doesn't have an atmosphere! The surface is a vacuum! Stop joking and put it on already!"

He genuinely thought Taro was joking. Sure, the man was ridiculously strong—someone who could train under 150 times gravity was clearly abnormal—but no one, no matter how abnormal, could survive in a vacuum… right?

The seven little birds were still chirping and flying around Taro, fluttering excitedly.

"Stop it, little ones. Stay here," Taro gently shooed them away, not paying any attention to the Rat.

The scientist opened his mouth to speak but stopped when Taro vanished in front of him. He quickly moved to the spaceship's window, only to see Taro already standing on the surface of the dark, desolate planet outside.

He was alive?!

He could survive in space?!

"Unbelievable... just what kind of monster is this?" He muttered to himself, remembering the terrifying people in the video who had caused him nightmares. Those people seemed to belong to some powerful organization... Could this man really be on their level? Was his relentless training meant to confront them?

Taro, however, was unaware of the Rat's thoughts. He had already begun his training on the barren planet.

The gravity room, though useful, was still a confined space, and Taro felt limited. Now, standing on this vast, lifeless world, the entire planet became his training ground.

In the following days, a small human began his conquest of the massive planet.

At first, walking was laborious, but gradually Taro managed to use his flight technique to escape the planet's 194 times gravity.

Occasionally, the planet would shake violently, with waves of bright energy surging through the air, causing massive craters on the surface. Since the planet had no life, Taro trained without restraint, using every method at his disposal.

Once, an asteroid headed for the planet, but before it could get close, a massive shockwave erupted from the surface and shattered it into pieces, dispersing it across the void of space.

The spaceship maintained its anti-gravity field, staying in place.

In the early days, the scientist had considered secretly launching the ship and escaping. But as soon as he attempted to fly into space, Taro appeared beside him in the control room, smiling faintly, and patted his shoulder.

He had no choice but to return to the planet.

Over the past two months, he had come to understand the true extent of Taro's terrifying strength. Gradually, he had ceased trying to defy Taro in any way. He once considered secretly creating weapons, but the thought of Taro's unimaginable power—his speed that defied capture, and the terrifying force that could shatter a planet with a single strike—dissuaded him.

Soon, two months passed.

Taro, barefoot, stood on the surface, gazing at the vast, endless black space above.

He raised his hand, activating his 15-fold Muken. A powerful energy wave shot out from his palm, creating a massive, deep crater in the ground. He picked up a piece of shattered rock and threw it with all his might. Without the air resistance, it traveled at an incredible speed, faster than anything he had seen on Earth.

But what was even more incredible was Taro's speed. Before the stone could even travel a hundred meters, Taro caught it with one hand and crushed it, dispersing the fragments onto the ground at nearly 200 times the speed of Earth.

'Base power… around 100,000 now… I haven't improved much for a while. Time to move on.'

Taro gave the barren planet one last glance before vanishing from the surface.

A few minutes later, a spaceship took off from the planet. After months of training, it disappeared back into the dark void of space. The next destination was a planet with 300 times Earth's gravity— a massive planet on the edge of a distant star system.
