Chapter 33: Chapter 33: The Cunning Human
The demon commander led his three hundred subordinates toward the location where Taro's aura had last been sensed.
"Judging by the direction where that aura vanished, he should be heading that way…" The demon commander's dark golden eyes scanned the ground meticulously for any trace, slowing his pace to glide cautiously through the air.
Three hundred demon warriors followed behind, either flying through the air unaided or flapping their wings, their sheer numbers blotting out the blood-red sky of the Demon Realm. Under the commander's orders, six hundred demonic eyes searched intently for any sign of the human figure they sought.
"My lord!"
One of the subordinates flew over to report.
"What is it? Have you found the human?" The commander asked quickly.
"No, but we've found Lord Red Ghost and his group. They… they've all been killed." The reporting demon answered honestly, though shock filled his voice.
The demon commander had not informed his troops about the annihilation of Red Blood, Red Bone, and Red Ghost's units. Thus, when the soldiers discovered Red Ghost's massacred group, their astonishment was palpable. While demons often viewed death with detachment, the circumstances here suggested something alarming: was it possible that the mysterious "human" had killed Red Ghost's squad?
A human not only entered the Demon Realm through some unknown means but also slaughtered an entire demon battalion?
"Useless scum! They deserved to die! Such disgrace to our kind!" The demon commander snorted coldly, his eerie golden eyes showing no emotion.
"Was it the human you're looking for that killed them?" another demon asked.
"I find it hard to believe, but it seems that way. A mere human able to slaughter so many of our warriors… So stop wasting time! Find him immediately! Once we do, we'll deliver him to Red Demon Queen for judgment!"
"Deliver him to the Red Demon Queen?" The subordinate was visibly startled.
"Of course! A human hasn't appeared in hundreds of years. Red Demon Queen will undoubtedly be interested!" The demon commander dismissed the soldier and resumed his search.
"Damn it! Where could he have gone?" The commander's frustration simmered. Three full units had been wiped out by this enigmatic intruder. If he failed to capture the human, he wouldn't be able to explain himself to the Red Demon Queen.
"Are you looking for me?"
Suddenly, a calm and composed male voice echoed from above.
"What!"
The demon commander snapped his head upward. Sure enough, there he was—a human with black hair floating in midair, arms crossed, and an expressionless face gazing down at him.
"So it's a human… Boy, do you have a death wish showing yourself in front of me?" The commander licked his purple lips with a sinister tongue, his golden eyes gleaming coldly.
Yet inwardly, he was rattled:
"He approached me this silently? Could this human actually be skilled at concealing his presence? But his aura… it's so weak. Am I overthinking this?"
Taro remained calm, allowing the three hundred demon warriors to surround him completely. They formed a massive sphere in midair, with him trapped at its center.
Facing the commander, Taro spoke evenly.
"I entered this so-called Demon Realm unintentionally. I have no desire to make enemies of you or your kind. I'll ask you directly… do you know of a way to return to the human world?"
The demon commander sneered, his tone dripping with mockery:
"Oh, I know the way. But why should I tell you? A human who dares to kill so many of our warriors expects to return peacefully? Are you insane? Dream on! You must have a death wish!"
His laugh was cold and derisive, as though Taro's question was the most ridiculous thing he had ever heard. Pointing at Taro, he continued to mock him with a condescending grin.
"Sure enough, there's no way to communicate without a fight…"
Taro uncrossed his arms.
At the same time, his aura rose steadily, inch by inch. It was like climbing a mountain, each step taking him higher and higher, until he quickly reached the peak!
A powerful inner energy surged through his body, filling every limb and bone with a continuous flow of strength!
Taro's aura condensed and remained steady. Within just a few breaths, he had adjusted his state to its absolute peak! His expression remained indifferent as he looked at the demon commander, paying no mind to the three hundred lesser demon warriors surrounding him.
"Thu is all you've got? I see Red Blood, Red Bone, and Red Ghost are all useless! They were killed so easily by such a weak human like you!" The demon commander sneered, but in his heart, he remained cautious. This human was strange!
The human's aura seemed almost insignificant to him! But the man… appeared to have unleashed all his power! This was bizarre! Could he really have killed Red Blood's entire team with such weak power?
The more he doubted, the more uneasy and wary he became.
"Attack! Leave him barely alive!"
The demon commander waved his hand, and immediately, the three hundred demon warriors surrounding Taro surged forward in unison!
"Hmph…" Taro's lips curled into a cold smile.
The three hundred demon warriors charged at him, encircling him in an instant. But—
A burst of light emanated from the circle of warriors surrounding Taro!
Wong~~
Boom!
In the blink of an eye, the demon warriors were sent flying, like shattered rocks, scattering in all directions! But they quickly stabilized their bodies midair, glaring at Taro at the center, still in disbelief, unable to comprehend what had just happened.
"Strange, his aura hasn't changed at all. It's still the same weak intensity… How did he suddenly break free from the encirclement?" The demon commander observed from the side, puzzled.
The next second, he saw Taro reveal a cold smile before the human's figure vanished from his sight!
"What!?——"
His eyes widened as a scream echoed nearby. He quickly turned and saw a demon warrior plummeting from the air, blood gushing from his body!
Taro's figure flashed by once again!
"So fast! His aura still hasn't changed! How is this possible!?" The demon commander was struck with fear!
By now, Taro's killing spree showed no sign of stopping! He became an invisible flash, weaving through the three hundred demon warriors in midair, and with each pass, another life was snuffed out!
"Ah!"- "Ah!" "Ah!" "Who is it!" "Ah!" "Run!"
The bodies of unconscious demon warriors fell from the sky, their eyes still filled with disbelief and terror. Some even still had the lingering image of Taro's palm crushing their temple in their final moments.
Purple demon blood rained down like a storm.
It was too fast, this human was killing too quickly!
Was he even human?
"Bastard!" The demon commander roared, and with a sharp movement, he shot toward the position of the recently fallen demon warrior!
Finally, Taro's phantom-like figure came to a halt. He casually tossed aside the body of a recently slain demon warrior. By this point, fewer than a dozen demon warriors remained.
Under the full eruption of the Ninefold Muken, in the blink of an eye, over two hundred demon warriors were slaughtered.
With nearly 2000 in attack power, this was already enough strength to conquer life-bearing planets as a cosmic colonizer. Although Taro's base combat power couldn't reach such a high level, with the enhancement of the Mangekyou Sharingan-modified Muken, he could easily overpower foes much stronger than himself.
"Now, can you finally answer my question?" Taro, his clothes stained with blood, maintained an expressionless face as he looked at the furious demon commander and asked.
He had no intention of showing mercy to these evil monsters.
If he could kill, he would.
"You're seeking death... Do you even know what you're doing!?" The demon commander's dark golden eyes were bloodshot, his body trembling in fury, on the verge of losing control. He wanted to slap this detestable human to death and shouted at Taro. "You're finished! You've angered Red Demon Queen! You—"
Before he could finish his sentence, four or five bolts of lightning and fire intertwined, shooting past him!
A series of screams echoed.
The last remaining demon warriors fell one by one.
"I'll ask again, what is the way to get to the human world?" Taro lowered his hand, coldly staring at the demon commander. In his eyes, the demon was a creature resembling a lizard, but with a distorted face, unclear in detail.
But he could clearly see the shock, disbelief, rage, and humiliation twisting on the demon's face!
"That method is only known by Lord Red Demon! If you think you can get it from me, you're dreaming! Damn human! Die!" The demon commander roared, his face contorted with fury. He spat out, launching a massive white ki blast toward Taro!
Boom!
The pain in his abdomen was suffocating, as if his body had been pierced by a punch! The demon commander's eyeballs nearly popped out as the ki blast shot off into the empty air. Clutching his stomach in agony, he nearly lost control and fell.
"You... damned human..."
The demon commander's face was twisted. Now, he finally understood how Red Blood, Red Bone, and Red Ghost had died! This human was incredibly strange! Although his aura had been weak from the start, the explosive power he unleashed completely exceeded their expectations! He was truly a cunning human!!
"You're finished... Hehehe... Lord Red Demon will kill you..."
The demon's face twisted into a sinister grin, blood dripping from the corners of his mouth, revealing sharp fangs. The sight made Taro's heart skip a beat!
Bright light suddenly exploded from the demon commander's entire body—
"He's going to self-destruct!?" Taro's heart sank in realization."
『Red Demon Queen! It's a human!!』
With a final moment of deathly telepathic awareness, the demon commander exploded in a massive blast that shook the ground! Waves of heat spread outward, rolling through the air in successive layers!
