Dragon Ball One Power Level Per Second

Chapter 47: Gravity Machine

The awkward atmosphere lingered for a long time.

Realizing he had inadvertently touched a sore spot for Bulma, Dr. Brief simply retreated to the side and fell silent.

Ultimately, it was Lin Chuan who shifted the conversation. After understanding that this was the gravity training room Bulma had created, he spoke up:

"So, this is the gravity training room you've made?"

"Of course, why else would I call you here? It's specifically for your needs that Dad and I spend some of our free time after researching the spaceship to work on this," Bulma said with her arms crossed and a proud look on her face, her eyes seemingly begging for praise.

Perhaps with time, Bulma had naturally let go of her past grievances. Of course, Lin Chuan couldn't see what she truly felt inside.

Seeing this, Dr. Brief visibly relaxed. He truly feared Bulma yelling at him. He knew his daughter's temper well and acknowledged that he could hardly control it. He had often discussed with his wife that if Bulma's temper were gentler, perhaps they would have had grandchildren by now.

Were there many pursuing Bulma? Certainly. Enough to circle West City. But it was due to Yamcha that Bulma had been delayed until now.

Dr. and Mrs. Brief found Lin Chuan increasingly agreeable because his arrival at least meant the end of Yamcha's entanglement. Their daughter could interact with other men, and Bulma also stopped constantly talking about Yamcha during these ten days.

Instead, she was wholly dedicated to her research; the name she mentioned most was Lin Chuan's.

"Your intelligence indeed exceeded my expectations. Not only did you succeed in your research in just a few days, but you also created a physical product."

"I just wonder how effective this gravity training room you've made is? Or, to put it another way, how many times can Earth's gravity achieve?" Lin Chuan asked.

Bulma's pride was evident in hearing the praise, but Lin Chuan's question brought her back to seriousness.

"Right now, we've only made some minor breakthroughs in gravity research. Given the limited materials, this version 1.0 of the gravity training room still needs your testing to determine how many times Earth's gravity it can achieve," Bulma explained.

Understanding her point, Lin Chuan realized it was merely a prototype and the achievable gravity multiplier might be low.

"So, that's why you called me over to assist! Since that's the case, let me test it myself." Lin Chuan nodded and walked decisively towards the door of the gravity chamber.

Bulma and Dr. Brief didn't dally because of how direct Lin Chuan was. After a brief introduction and explanation, Lin Chuan understood the interior structure and operation well.

Then, he closed the door of the gravity training room.

"Lin Chuan, remember, if there's an emergency, you must tell me immediately, and I'll cut off the power supply from outside," Bulma instructed. "Also, because the interior space is completely isolated from the outside, there might be an issue with oxygen supply, and you may experience difficulty breathing…"

"Oh, right! I almost forgot you made a wish last time to survive in any harsh environment, especially in the vacuum of space. Although I'm not sure how powerful this ability is, being able to survive in space means a lack of oxygen shouldn't be a big problem for you in the short term."

As Bulma's voice echoed in the cramped space, Lin Chuan looked up at the speaker in the corner.

"Don't worry, although the ability granted by Earth's Dragon isn't extremely miraculous and only allows survival in not-so-extreme environments, the Dragon did indeed make it possible for me to survive in space, so lack of oxygen won't affect me," Lin Chuan responded.

After speaking, he stepped up to the central control console.

Without hesitation, he pressed the activation button.

As the gravity started, even doubling Earth's gravity darkened the bright space and increased the environmental pressure immensely.

Lin Chuan could distinctly feel his body becoming much heavier and the pressure on his body multiplying.

"Now, I'm going to increase the gravity. Keep records, Bulma," he instructed as he looked at the camera and pressed the button to increase the gravity.

Each press raised the gravity level by one fold.

From twice to five times, from five times to ten times, and then beyond ten times...

Despite the twenty-plus years that had passed, Lin Chuan vividly remembered the sensation of ten times the gravity on Planet Vegeta.

Later, on Planet V3114, the gravity was significantly lower, so he adapted quickly.

Although Planet V3114 was no match for Vegeta, its gravity was about two to three times Earth's.

Indeed, ten to twenty times gravities didn't affect him much. Although there was initial pressure, it was quickly absorbed.

 And then unnoticeable.

Of course, long-term training in such a pressurized environment would yield better results than training under Earth's gravity. Yet, such minimal gravity increments would make little difference for Lin Chuan.

With nearly a million in power level, even a hundred times Earth's gravity, was something Lin Chuan could quickly adapt to. At the very least, it would need to be a hundred times gravity to significantly speed up his physical strengthening.

According to the original story, after recovering from severe injuries from the battle with Vegeta, Goku had his power level increase to about 20,000 to 30,000.

On his way to Planet Namek, Goku used gravity training to push his body. He healed with Senzu Beans and repeated the process, exploiting the Saiyan ability to gain strength rapidly from recovery after severe injuries.

In six days, not only did he adapt to a hundred times gravity, but his power also rose to 90,000.

In other words, a power level of around 100,000 could adapt to a hundred times gravity.

If 100,000 in power level were enough, then a million in power would easily handle a hundred times gravity.

Later in the story, Vegeta, with power levels in the millions, trained under 300 times gravity on Earth.

Lin Chuan remembered this well, indicating that a power level of a million could train under 200 to 300 times Earth's gravity effectively.
