Dragon Ball Odd Future

Chapter 3: Chapter 3 Metamorphosis Rise and Shine Mo-Mochi

As everyone leaves the room and blows out the candles, the ooze hides in a nearby corner and, like a predator watching its prey, slowly waits until it sees the boy drifting in and out of consciousness. It views the sick child as the ideal specimen for its purpose.

*The boy lies in bed, his heartbeat getting slower and slower as his eyes slowly begin to shut. He wonders to himself if this was the end and if he was going to truly die, knowing there was nothing else he could do. He just thinks to himself about his family and his life before this cursed illness ruined everything. As he swells with anger, knowing it all could have been avoided. Anger turns into sadness, as tears fall down the child's eyes, as he accepts whatever is going to happen next, and his body slowly goes to sleep for what may be the final time.*

As swiftly as possible, the ooze leaves its hiding spot and makes its way to the boy's bedside. It scales the bed and enters the boy's body to begin slowly but surely spreading and consuming the child while his body falls into a deep slumber.1

As it slowly consumes the child's entire body, something strange happens: this creature isn't consuming the child; it's changing him as the entity itself seems to disappear, fading into the child's skin, leaving nothing of itself behind but changing the child's black hair into a light pink.

His heartbeat becomes stable as the kid begins to breathe properly while still sound asleep. The youngster had no idea that this would permanently alter his life, either positively or negatively. It is up to him to decide.

A new story was about to be told

Mo-Mochi wakes up, looking around his room as the light shines on his face. He sits up in his bed to stretch as he notices that his body feels lighter.

Mo-Mochi says to himself, "Huh, I feel pretty okay today; my body isn't feeling sluggish, nor do I feel like I'm going to throw up."

The boy then leaps out of his bed with ease and walks to his room's mirror to get a better look at himself. Walking over to the mirror, he shouts in shock at what he sees next.

Mo-Mochi: "WHA, WHAT HAPPENED TO MY HAIR?"

His parents storm through the door as he yells.

The father is the first one to appear, as he shouts with concern, "What's going on, Mochi? Are you doing okay?!?"

While his mother, who slowly moves her head into the room, says, "Is everything okay, my mo-mo?"

A little taken aback that their kid is even out of bed, the two turn to examine him closely and see that his black hair has disappeared, as if he had colored it.

The mother quickly moves to her son to see what's happened to his hair as she goes to feel it and give it a bit of a pull. The boy's hair felt strangely soft, more so than it usually would, as they held it, picking a loose strand. Her son's hair was naturally pink.

The mother then turns to her husband and says, "Honey, I think we should take our child to a doctor; this isn't natural."

In response, the father says, "Not at all. In addition, our boy appears healthy, which is good, but how does that just happen? Mochi, put on your clothes. We're going to take you over to West City to get a checkup."

Mo-Mochi nods his head and says, "Yes sir, I'll go get myself ready."

Mo-Mochi runs back into his room to get ready.

As he does, a young, tired-looking Mello walks into the hallways, yawning toward her parents.

After rubbing her eyes, she looks at her parents and says, "Mommy, Daddy, why was everyone yelling?"

The mother picks up the girl and says to her, "It's alright, darling, we're just going to be taking your brother to the hospital in West City."

She looks at her mom a bit starry-eyed and says, "Wow, West City?" You guys have never taken us there before.

The mother smiles and says, "Well, since things are now a bit more peaceful, you're old enough to visit the big city." Let's go get you dressed and ready, kay?

Mellow then nods and says, "Okay, Mommy."

After the family gets ready, the father throws down the capsule as the family car appears on the ground for the family to go inside of.

Everyone gets in, buckles their seatbelts, and makes sure that they are properly in the vehicle.

The father then looks at the kids in the back seat and says, "Alright, everyone is properly buckled in."

Mo-Mochi nods while Mellow is just playing around with the seatbelt strap, pulling it to see how long it can go.

The Father then gives a light smile and says, "Alright then, everyone, West City, here we come."

As the vehicle swiftly traverses the vast expanse of the wilderness, an array of breathtaking scenes unfolds before the passengers' eyes. Majestic creatures, both big and small, scuttle across the road, emerging from the forest and into the open plains.1

As schools of fish jump out of the water and glistening water gushes down the rocks, the sound of tumbling waterfalls fills the air. Astonishingly, prehistoric creatures can be spotted in the distance, running and soaring through the air, their mighty presence evoking awe and wonder in all who witness them.

Mo-Mochi just sits there. Wondering what precisely could have caused his body to change. How did he go from almost dying to basically feeling all better? He even tries to check himself during the car ride, and nothing feels wrong. He is feeling brand-new. Mo-Mochi just takes a deep breath and smiles. He may not know why, but who cares? He's healthy and is ready to continue living his life, starting with going on that grand journey. He's so greatly desired.
