Dragged to Another World… and I Took the Goddess with me!

Chapter 118: Dumpster Priestess, Slimy Queen, and Useless Me

Seraphina had blessed both Finn and herself before departing, leaving the chamber behind. Lysithea, meanwhile, had finished whatever horrifying thing she'd been doing with her slime and the corpse of that creature.

Their nightmare of a trek through the slime cavern continued. More humanoid slime monsters emerged, but Lysithea made quick work of them with her insane powers, barely breaking a sweat.

Finn, of course, was entirely useless. And the realization was driving him up the wall. His trip ability didn't work on anything in this cave, and the rearranger power wasn't exactly versatile in a place with no furniture or structures. He was about as helpful as a wet sock in a fire.

To make matters worse, he only had one Slime Melo left—and now that too was gone, stuffed into the pocket that had been sloppily smeared over with slime residue.

'Damn it…'

Not only had he lost the last slime melo, he wasn't even getting paid for this. It was like working twelve hours on an oil rig without a paycheck. He was definitely going to need a sword—or anything that could pass for a weapon—after this. And a new set of clothes. He shivered at the thought of how god-awfully he must smell.

Finn's mind wandered to the "forgotten one" slime's disturbing obsession with birds—the bird-human fetuses, the winged tail, the chest bird. Whatever it was, it clearly had a fixation, maybe longing to escape this slime-soaked hellhole.

And speaking of slime, the place was practically alive with it. It leaked into every nook and cranny, as if the cavern itself had been filled to the brim. One misstep and you'd be wading in puddles the size of Florida lakes.

Finn had asked Lysithea about it, but she didn't respond, brushing off his question entirely. He wasn't going to complain—she'd already saved their skins more than enough.

The deeper they ventured into the slime cavern, the more dangerous it became. What had started as just a handful of slime monsters quickly multiplied, growing at an alarming rate. Lysithea, as usual, made quick work of them.

One of the slime monsters lunged at Finn at a terrifying speed. Before it could reach him, a tendril of slime shot up from the murky floor, wrapping around the creature's waist and yanking it back into the mass of slime.

Lysithea had noticed the creature closing in on Finn and handled it before he could even react. Once again, his life was saved by a woman. Other people might thrive on that sort of attention, but Finn was drowning in it—and he didn't like it. One rescue was tolerable; repeated rescues were not.

He glanced at Lysithea, who moved through the monsters with terrifying ease. Some of her slime lashed out to take down creatures from a distance, while any that got too close were simply obliterated. Finn understood she was the Queen of Slime, but how her power actually worked was beyond him. Was it absolute? Partial? Magical cheat codes? He didn't know—and honestly, he wasn't complaining.

Seraphina stayed on the sidelines, as she always did, though she wasn't completely useless. Her blessings and healing were invaluable… if a bit slow to act.

"At least she can use her powers," Finn scoffed under his breath, a little bitter.

They stood in a decently sized chamber, surrounded by massive oozing walls of slime. The walls leaked liquid slime, but fortunately, most of it glowed faintly, providing some eerie illumination.

Off to the right, just across a shallow pool of slime water, was a strange formation—a wall of slime that acted like a waterfall. Liquid slime trickled down its surface, forming an unholy, sticky cascade.

'Odd…' Finn narrowed his eyes. He hadn't seen anything like it in the cavern before, but at this point, he was learning not to expect normal.

He took a moment to look around the chamber. Seraphina lingered behind, ready if needed, while Lysithea finished off the last few remaining slime monsters with effortless precision.

Finn's gaze wandered over the glowing, grotesque landscape, imagining if anyone were watching this scene unfold. What would they think? That he was in some kind of gross, perverted loser that people would love? Or that he was completely doomed? Probably both.

Just as things began to calm, another all-too-familiar roar ripped through the cavern, shaking the walls violently. Slime poured from cracks and seams in the stone, as if the entire place was bleeding ooze.

This time, the force nearly knocked Finn and Seraphina off their feet. Lysithea, of course, stood perfectly steady, completely unbothered.

It was the same kind of roar they'd heard back in that ancient city—but louder now. Stronger. Angrier. If it kept up like this, the entire cavern would collapse on top of them. Whatever was sealed inside that cocoon was definitely not in a good mood.

The echo of the roar eventually died, and silence swallowed the chamber. Not the peaceful kind—this was the kind of silence that felt like the world was holding its breath.

Finn glanced at the girls. Surprisingly, they were fine. But what caught him off guard was the expression on Lysithea's face. She looked… worried. Genuinely worried. For someone who normally only thought about him in terms of lust and greed, that was unnerving.

He was about to ask her what was wrong when she suddenly moved in front of him, her back facing him.

"What's the matter—?"

"It's commiiing~~~~ please stayyy behind mee~~~"

That was all Finn needed to hear. Mouth shut. Questions gone. And honestly, he wasn't going to complain about having a tall woman shielding him for once—instead of a certain someone who had the habit of hiding behind him, despite being taller, stronger, and way more divine.

Seraphina clung close too, terrified. Her hands pressed against Finn's back, trembling but ready to cast a blessing the instant something struck.

The eerie silence ended with the faint, sickening sound of slime sloshing inside the walls. Something huge was moving. Something that was about to break free…
