Douluo Dalu 2: I got Kidnapped into Holy Spirit Cult

Chapter 47: Chapter 47: Unexpected Encounter

"Hey, where did you send your Brother Tianmeng this time?"

Amidst the vast, azure ocean, a voice filled with pain echoed.

"Splash!"

A figure surfaced from the water, looking around in confusion.

All around him was the icy-blue seawater, stretching endlessly to the horizon. Not far away, several partially melted ice chunks floated, and the unique salty tang of the sea filled the air.

"Tianmeng… Brother, are we still alive?"

This person was none other than Huo Yuhao, who had been randomly teleported by the space tunnel. However, his current condition was far from good.

"Hiss—ah!"

As Huo Yuhao regained consciousness, Tianmeng Iceworm relinquished control over his body.

The moment Huo Yuhao returned to his senses, an intense, piercing pain surged through his entire being. Every part of his body ached, his internal blood vessels showed signs of rupture, and his soul power was in complete disarray.

He felt as though he had been trampled by a giant.

"Yuhao, hang in there for a bit. I'll use my spiritual origin to repair your body in a moment."

Knowing he was at fault, Tianmeng Ice Silkworm's voice weakened considerably.

"It's okay, Brother Tianmeng. I trust you."

"For now, let's focus on getting out of here."

To Tianmeng Ice Silkworm's surprise, Huo Yuhao didn't react with his usual loud complaints. Instead, he took the initiative to comfort him.

Had Yuhao finally matured? Was his psychological resilience improving?

Tianmeng Ice Silkworm pondered this internally.

"Alright! Yuhao, since you trust me, I will definitely help you rise to greatness! We will exact our revenge—yours and mine alike!"

Tianmeng Ice Silkworm's voice grew excited and resolute. With his remaining spiritual origin of over 700,000 years, he was confident he could push Huo Yuhao to new heights. Moreover, Huo Yuhao still had a vacant second martial soul slot.

If Huo Yuhao's psychological strength had truly improved, then his future was bound to be extraordinary.

"Yuhao, let's carve out our own destiny and ascend the path to the pinnacle!"

Though no one could predict whether Huo Yuhao would reach the peak, at this moment, he certainly looked the part—especially with the large bump swelling on his forehead. It had formed when he fell out of the space tunnel and hit a floating piece of ice.

"Alright, Brother Tianmeng. Together, we will take revenge on those who have wronged us!"

As Huo Yuhao mentioned his enemies, his expression remained eerily calm. However, a blood-red glint in his eyes grew ever more intense...

"Finally! We can leave this godforsaken place!"

The Masked Douluo let out a strange, excited shout, tossing aside an unfinished rabbit head with a face full of elation.

He had been surviving on frozen brains for almost a month. He was sick of it. He needed fresh brains!

Jiang Jue stood up from the ground, a sharp glint flashing in his eyes.

From the time they set out until now, nearly a month had passed. They had accomplished everything they needed to in the Extreme North—setting things up, obtaining what was necessary, and making the necessary arrangements.

There was no longer any reason to waste time here.

Right now, there were still more than five months left before Snow Empress would reincarnate and then be sealed within the Godsealing Platform.

Jiang Jue had already taken care of any major external influences. Now, all that remained was to wait for the moment Snow Empress was sealed—and intercept her halfway.

Before coming here, he had already identified and investigated the ninth-rank soul engineer responsible for the sealing: Wang Gengyin, one of the Sun-Moon Empire's consecrated soul engineers. He had only recently advanced to the ninth rank in the past few years.

Jiang Jue also had some theories regarding the Godsealing Platform's creation process. Initially, Wang Gengyin's target may not have been the Snow Empress, but rather a 100,000-year Snow Lotus.

For some reason, he had been scouting the area and making preparations without taking action.

However, what he hadn't anticipated was that the Snow Empress would choose to reincarnate using that very 100,000-year Snow Lotus. This allowed him to stumble upon an opportunity by sheer luck.

One thing still puzzled Jiang Jue, though—how did the Godsealing Platform end up in the hands of the Star Luo Empire?

This ultimately led to the Star Luo Empire selling it to the Mingde Hall, setting a trap that lured Poison Undying and the Body Sect into digging an underground tunnel, storming the Mingde Hall, and causing chaos.

Mingde Hall was truly unlucky. First, it was wrecked by the Body Sect. Later, it was wiped off the map due to the Mingdu explosion.

Perhaps their luck was just terrible.

Shaking his head, Jiang Jue packed up his belongings and left the valley with Zhang Peng and the Masked Douluo.

The Extreme North was far larger than the Star Dou Forest and had a far harsher environment, only suitable for ice-attributed soul beasts to live in.

Due to the extreme weather conditions, even flying from their current location in the middle of the Extreme North to the outer edges would take nearly an entire day.

The frigid winds howled, and snow mists swirled in the air.

In what felt like no time at all, half a day had already passed.

Jiang Jue and his companions had now reached the outer region of the Extreme North.

"Huh? Holy Son, look! There's a campsite over there!"

While flying, the Masked Douluo suddenly exclaimed in surprise.

From above, it was easy to spot three small tents set up on the ice plains below.

"Holy Son, how about we rest there for a bit? We still have to cross the Heavenly Soul Empire afterward, so it's best to stay in peak condition."

The Masked Douluo turned to Jiang Jue with an eager expression.

Jiang Jue was being carried between Zhang Peng and the Masked Douluo, both of whom used their soul power to shield him as they flew.

After a brief moment of contemplation, Jiang Jue nodded in agreement.

The Masked Douluo had a point. They still needed to pass through the Heavenly Soul Empire and into the Sun-Moon Empire. Maintaining their soul power reserves and relieving fatigue would be wise.

"Alright, leave it to me."

Grinning, the Masked Douluo descended toward the campsite.

After being out for so long, he had long figured out whom to follow. In all matters, he would ask for Jiang Jue's opinion first.

If Jiang Jue agreed, Zhang Peng would naturally not object.

He, the Masked Douluo, was a master of situational awareness.

"Elder Zhang, let's go down and take a break as well."

"Yes, Young Master."

Zhang Peng responded, carrying Jiang Jue downward.

When others were around, Zhang Peng addressed Jiang Jue as the "Holy Son." When they were alone, however, he still referred to him as "Young Master."

"Cough, cough!"

"Listen up, people in the tents! You have three minutes to come out, or I won't be so polite!"

As soon as the Masked Douluo landed, he immediately amplified his voice with soul power, sending it echoing across the tents.

The sheer force of his shout caused the snow on the ice plains to tremble.

"What? What's happening?"

"Is it an avalanche?"

"There's someone outside? Wasn't An Lengquan supposed to be on watch?"

"…?"

Inside the three tents, the occupants were startled into chaos. Lights flickered on, and thick tent flaps were swiftly pushed aside as people emerged.

A total of seven soul masters stepped out: an elderly man, two middle-aged men, and four younger individuals.

One of the middle-aged soul masters, still half-asleep and visibly annoyed, glared at the Masked Douluo and shouted,

"Who the hell are you, and what makes you think you're so damn important?!"
