Douluo Dalu 2: Heavenly Eyed Douluo

"Elder Mu, how long have we been there? I feel hungry." Wang Dong'er asked, scratching her cheek.

Elder Mu laughed, rubbing his beard. "You girls have been in deep meditation for approximately 48 days. Go fix yourselves up, and eat. After that, you can fuse the soul bones you got as a reward."

The girls were stunned. They've been in deep meditation for over a month!? No wonder they were so hungry.

"Elder Mu. What about Yuhao?"

"Ah. He's still in deep meditation, but don't worry. His condition is stable, and his progress is astounding. By my estimation, he would be out in a couple of weeks or so." Elder Mu assured them.

"A couple of weeks?" Wu Feng muttered to herself, narrowing her eyes. Ning Tian glanced at her, knowing what she was thinking.

The girls shared a look and nodded. They politely cusped their hands to the elders before walking out of the underworld.

In Huo Yuhao's room, his spiritual sea.

A gigantic golden ball hovered over the golden sea, undulations of spiritual power emanated from its spherical form. This golden ball was none other a spiritual core!

A Soul Core is a metaphysical condensed energy crystallization of soul power, spiritual power or bloodline piwer; indicating the advancement of one's source of energy, martial soul comprehension, cultivation foundation, etc.

The possessor's potential is permanently amplified on the path of that source and the affinity is increased by several folds. Moreover, a soul core functions as a storage collecting unit, allowing the possessor to lessen the rate of loss: recovery of its source.

A soul core is synonym for a high level Soul Master. In general, the solidification would only succeed when one reaches the realm of seven Soul Rings. As the core of one's source, it would get rid of the old to bring in the new and it would allow the Soul Master's combat strength to increase substantially.

The limit of standard soul cores a mortal cultivator under the human Rank 100 can condense are three standard soul cores; and they are typically condensed in the head's spiritual sea, the chest's heart and the abdomen's dantian. However, most cultivators condense their first soul core at the their chest for future efficient cultivation.

Any failure at forming a soul core at these three locations could minimally stall one's cultivation or permanent damage at that location: vegetable mind, heart rupture or negative cultivation deviation.

In Huo Yuhao's case, he had unexpectedly condensed a Spiritual Core while in deep meditation!

A remarkable achievement, when typically the first soul core can be easily condensed once reaching an average Titled Douluo level, or if they were a monstrous genius, they would condensed one when being a Soul Sage.

But Huo Yuhao differed from this cultivation path; instead of a regular Soul Core condensed out of Soul Power, his was made up from Spiritual Power and while being a Soul Ancestor! This was unprecedented in all of history.

However, it does makes sense.

Huo Yuhao, as the incarnation of Indra Ōtsutsuki, possesses incredible amount of soul power and spiritual power but was sealed or sabotaged at a young age. But it was different now!

Absorbing the one million year old Skydream Iceworm into the first intelligent soul ring, mastering his Sharingan and jutsus, fusing with the Ice Jade Empress Scorpion, absorbing a remnant of the Ice God, awakening his Sharingan to the legendary and infamous Mangekyou Sharingan stage, and absorbing the Life Gold which then lead to the awakening of his Eye of Eternity!

All of these factors combined made his cultivation quickly rise, but remained firm. And any instability and impurity was quickly solved by either the Life Gold or the Heavenly Soul Tempering Technique.

His soul power, at rank 45, was so pure and dense that it equalled a pinnacle ranked Soul Emperor. While his physique, which wasn't anything extraordinary at first but is simply tougher than the average due to practicing the Eight Gates, had changed drastically because the Ice God's Bone was transforming his body into the Ice God's Physique—although it wasn't complete, Huo Yuhao's body could still be classified as a Incomplete Ice God Physique, besides giving him extreme affinity towards Ice and Snow, it also granted him extraordinary strength.

But they still pale in comparison to his Spiritual Power, for with the appearance of his Spiritual Core, he has now reached Spirit Domain Realm! Or so many would thought...

"We have to stop him." Skydream gravely muttered.

After not feeling Mu En's gaze on Huo Yuhao for a whole day, he and the others decided to finally address the elephant in the room/spiritual sea.

Electrolux solemnly nodded. "If this continues, I'm afraid something dire would happen to Yuhao's soul."

"What would happen exactly?" Ice Empress asked with narrowed eyes. She and Snow Empress, only had some understanding of the soul and spiritual power so they don't really understand what was going on.

Indra was the one to reply with a grimace, "Yuhao's deep meditation caused an exponential increase of his Spiritual Power, which is great, but it's too fast for his spiritual sea to fully stabilize and adapt to the growth. The spiritual sea is like a container. If it expands too quickly without proper reinforcement, it could shatter under the strain. Normally this would be easy to resolve..."

"But Yuhao's in a deep meditation, he can't control the movement of his spiritual power. As a result, his "instinct" decided on the next course of action—" Skydream said, gritting his teeth. "Compression!"

"Yuhao always wanted his cultivation to be perfect. His subconscious is trying to refine and compress his spiritual power so his spiritual sea could evolve into the next state, unfortunately, that action had resulted in creating a Spiritual Core!"

"His spiritual power is progressing so fast that his body isn't keeping up! As a result, this might go two ways: his body implodes under the immense pressure of the rapidly forming Spiritual Core or his soul leaves his body!"

"His soul leaves his body? Well, that doesn't sound bad. Heck, wouldn't that solve the problem?" Ice Empress said.

Electrolux shook his head. "It's not certain that his soul would escape his body. Moreover, did you forget what we are? We've become spirits, tied to Yuhao's soul. The moment his soul comes out of his body, our auras would surge out and attracting every soul master and soul beast in a ten thousand mile radius."

Skydream nervously smiled, "We could reason with the old man, but there's a few troublesome fellows out there that would stop at nothing in order to capture me. And one specifically can challenge a Limit Douluo without any problem, much less a severely injured one."

"You mean—"

"Rank 1st in the Top Ten Great Beasts of the Continent, the Strongest Soul Beast — 800,000 years old Golden-Eyed Black Dragon King, Beast God Di Tian!" Skydream muttered, his eyes wide as unpleasant memories flashed across his eyes.

He could still clearly remembered how utterly helpless and humiliated he felt when being presented before Di Tian back then; how he nonchalantly declared his fate as a cultivation tool for himself and his subordinates.

The mere thought of encountering the Beast God again made his spiritual form tremble slightly.

Skydream's voice dropped to a whisper, "We can forget about hiding in a folded space or deep underground, that guy has expert mastery over space manipulation — there's no hiding from that bastard, unless we head towards another continent!"

"Then what are we suppose to do?! How do we help the boy?" Snow Empress demanded, her icy demeanor cracking slightly.

She hates humans, but Huo Yuhao saved her. She was many things but not ungrateful.

Skydream took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down. "We need to strengthen his body! Body and soul, they must be equal or one falls."

"Huo Yuhao managed to get his soul power and spiritual power aligned thanks to the Heavenly Soul Tempering Technique, but he forgot to add in his body."

"How do we strengthen his body?" Ice Empress asked.

"You're asking me?! Do I look like I've lifted weights in my life? I'm a weak worm! You're both the strongest ladies in all of Extreme North, you're both more highly qualified than me—ah, ah! Not the ears!" Skydream retorted, getting both his ears twisted by said ladies.

"Hmph!"

Indra shook his head and said, "I can't help. The body strengthening techniques that I know of can't help Yuhao with his situation. They're training exercises, meaning that he has to be moving and it's a slow process."

Electrolux rubbed his chin, deep in thought.

"...There is a way to strengthen his body. It's an extremely effective and common body strengthening technique."

Their eyes sparkled with hope.

"What is it?!"

Electrolux glanced at them. "I need the help of Ice Empress, Snow Empress and Indra to forge Yuhao's body anew..."

"Hm?"

Elder Mu's eyes opened as he sensed the surge of two distinct Ultimate attributes emanating from Huo Yuhao's room.

"Two Ultimate Elemental forces? What's going on..." He slowly closed his eyes.

Unseen by anyone, even most Titled Douluos, a ghostly entity separated from Mu En's body—this was his Soul! This was called a Spiritual Avatar, it is a phenomenon in which a person's soul can separate from their physical body and act independently. The further the Spiritual Avatar moves from the original body, the more spiritual power it drains. This is normally achieved by a Limit Douluo.

Mu En normally uses his Spiritual Avatar to interact with people and objects, which is how he managed to get a Ice Jade Scorpion from the Extreme North as well as surveying Star Luo City.

Mu En's Spiritual Avatar flew towards Huo Yuhao's room in a split second and as he popped his head inside to investigate, his old eyes widened in shock.

"Extreme Ice? T-That's Extreme Fire! They're enveloping Huo Yuhao's body.... can it be? Body Forging through the use of extreme ice and extreme fire?!"

Sitting cross-legged on the flat rock under a tree, Huo Yuhao's naked form could be seen with the entire left side of his body covered in snow and ice crystals while the other side was enveloped entirely with ominous black flames.

How did this happened?! This place was simply for meditation and searching for oneself, why did Huo Yuhao start body strengthening!?

It was then Mu En noticed the powerful undulations of Spiritual Power coming from Huo Yuhao's head.

'Don't tell me....his spiritual power has grown so strong that his body wouldn't be able to hold onto his soul?'
