Douluo: Becoming a God by Relying on my Enemies

Chapter 54: Chapter 54: If You Don’t Exude Power, How Can You Match This Martial Spirit?

Zhao Wuji cast a disdainful glance at Ye Zhiqiu.

"What kind of trash dares to make a move on me? It's like an old man asking for arsenic."

Without sparing Ye Zhiqiu another thought, Zhao Wuji turned and walked back upstairs. However, as he ascended, he paused to say to Yun Feng, "You're part of Shrek Academy. Don't forget your identity."

Yun Feng looked up with a faint smile and replied, "Got it, Teacher Zhao Wuji!"

Zhao Wuji stared at him for a moment but ultimately swallowed whatever words he had been planning to say and continued upstairs.

Meanwhile, with the help of his Canghui Academy students, Ye Zhiqiu struggled to his feet. He spat out a mouthful of blood, his chest heaving as if a mountain weighed on him. Panic flashed through his eyes as he realized the gap in their strength.

How could this be? Ye Zhiqiu thought. Even without using his martial spirit, he could injure me with just a slap? The difference in power must be at least fifteen levels, maybe more.

The realization sent chills down his spine. He glanced toward Zhao Wuji and then at Ma Hongjun with resentment. His gaze met Yun Feng's briefly, and when Yun Feng nodded slightly, Ye Zhiqiu's expression softened. Still, he gathered his students and left in a defeated silence.

The lone female student cast Yun Feng a lingering look before departing.

Oscar's beard wasn't much of a disguise, Tang San's appearance was average, and Ma Hongjun had already disqualified himself with his earlier behavior. Naturally, Yun Feng—both in strength and appearance—was the most striking among them.

But Yun Feng didn't notice. It wasn't that he was particularly innocent—he simply had high standards. Having seen countless beauties, he had little interest in anyone who didn't meet his lofty expectations.

The night passed uneventfully.

At dawn, Zhao Wuji's booming voice roused everyone from their slumber.

Yun Feng, who had long cultivated a disciplined routine, was unaffected. But others, particularly the sleep-loving Oscar, groaned in protest, struggling to wake up. During breakfast, most of them still appeared half-asleep.

As the sun rose in the east, its golden light gradually brightened the sky, pushing away the last traces of darkness. Yun Feng, accustomed to this daily sight, still found himself moved by the moment. The sunrise, a symbol of new beginnings, never failed to stir his heart.

Leaving the town behind, the group quickened their pace. The Star Dou Forest was now close, and everyone was eager to press forward.

Among them, Oscar was the most excited, anticipating the enhancements his third spirit ring would bring. Yun Feng, too, was curious about his fourth spirit ring, though he approached it with far more composure.

After all, Yun Feng thought, my spirit rings' effects are dictated by the innate power of my martial spirit.

His martial spirit was entirely unique, granting both amplification and special abilities. Ordinary martial spirits couldn't compare.

And why not? he mused. My martial spirit is none other than Zhu Jiuyin, the Chaos Dragon. If it didn't exude prestige, would it even deserve the name?

The Star Dou Forest lay to the south of the Heaven Dou Empire, spanning the borders of two empires. Due to the abundance of spirit beasts in the area, the national boundary here was often contested.

Though the forest predominantly fell within the Star Luo Empire's territory, the Heaven Dou Empire had never conceded this claim. Border conflicts frequently erupted, as they did in any contested region.

As one of the three great wild spirit beast habitats, the Star Dou Forest was a dream destination for Spirit Masters, each visit marking a step closer to their advancement.

No one could say how long the forest had existed, but its towering trees and dense canopy spoke of its ancient history.

Even from a distance, Yun Feng could feel the forest's cool, fragrant air washing over him, carrying the scent of lush vegetation. It was invigorating, a sharp contrast to the stifling atmosphere of human settlements.

Taking a deep breath, Yun Feng felt every pore on his body relax, the refreshing sensation impossible to describe.

Using his spirit power to enhance his vision, he saw an endless expanse of green ahead—a vast, breathtaking sea of trees.

Finally, they reached the edge of the Star Dou Forest. The towering trees, each over twenty meters tall, marked only the forest's outskirts. The dense foliage cast deep shadows, obscuring any clear view of what lay within.

As they approached, the air became even cooler, tinged with the damp, earthy scent of the forest. It was both soothing and invigorating.

"Stop," Zhao Wuji ordered.

Everyone halted, their bodies warmed from the long journey. Oscar and Ning Rongrong, as auxiliary Spirit Masters, were particularly fatigued despite their decent physical conditioning.

Oscar, chanting his familiar incantation, handed each person a sausage. Over the past few days, thanks to Yun Feng's earlier encouragement, everyone had grown accustomed to his food. At most, they pretended not to hear the incantation.

The sausage transformed into a surge of warmth and energy as it entered their bodies, restoring their stamina and lifting their spirits.

Zhao Wuji surveyed the group with a serious expression.

"Listen carefully. The Star Dou Forest is not like the government-managed spirit beast reserves. The beasts here are far more dangerous, and you could face attacks from thousand-year or even ten-thousand-year beasts at any moment.

"Once we enter, none of you are to stray more than twenty meters from me.

"Ning Rongrong, Oscar, you two will stay closest to me.

"Without my command, no one is to attack a spirit beast. Is that clear?"

"Yes, sir!"

Oscar chanted again, producing a fresh batch of sausages and cured sausages.

Handing them out, he explained, "These sausages remain effective for twelve hours. The regular sausage restores energy and hunger, while the cured sausage is for detoxification."

Everyone carefully stored their portions, understanding that Oscar was preparing for emergencies when he might not have time to distribute them.

As his spirit power depleted, Oscar's face grew pale, though his beard helped conceal it somewhat. Still, the group's readiness

reassured him, and they pressed forward toward the mysteries of the Star Dou Forest.
