Douluo: Becoming a God by Relying on my Enemies

Chapter 116: Chapter 116: A Mere Spirit Ancestor Daring to Be So Arrogant!

Zhu Zhuqing lifted her head, locking eyes with Yun Feng, her lips parting slightly as she spoke softly.

"It's nothing. I just saw you leave alone and was worried something might happen."

Yun Feng was touched by her words, though he hesitated before replying. Finally, he smiled warmly.

"Thank you, Zhuqing."

His sudden sincerity and affectionate tone made Zhu Zhuqing blush, though she quickly regained her composure.

"There's no need to thank me. If anything, I should be the one thanking you. These past few days, you've shown me the beauty of life and let me experience things I never thought I could."

Her gratitude was genuine, her words heartfelt. Sometimes, true emotions need no embellishment—a blush speaks louder than any speech.

Yun Feng didn't say much more. Instead, he gently tapped Zhu Zhuqing's delicate nose with his finger and said with a smile,

"Let's go."

With that, Yun Feng and Zhu Zhuqing slowly made their way back to the rest area.

Meanwhile, Dugu Yan returned to the VIP lounge, still distracted by thoughts of Yun Feng. She barely registered Yu Tianheng's question.

"Yanzi, where did you go just now?"

Dugu Yan didn't respond immediately, lost in her thoughts. Seeing her silence and noticing the others watching, Yu Tianheng felt his pride take a hit. He raised his voice slightly.

"Yanzi, I'm asking you—what were you doing just now?"

Snapping out of her reverie, Dugu Yan frowned, irritated by his tone.

"What I do is none of your business."

Yu Tianheng was taken aback. Ever since he'd started dating Dugu Yan, she had been reliant on him. Her sudden defiance caught him off guard, and panic crept into his heart. He knew his standing in the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan was heavily bolstered by his relationship with her. Without it, much of his advantage would disappear.

Quickly softening his tone, he tried to salvage the situation.

"Yanzi, I'm sorry. I was just worried about you. I didn't mean to come off harsh."

Despite his apology, Dugu Yan didn't reply. Yu Tianheng's frustration simmered, but he hid it. Sensing the tension, one of the other young men in the lounge spoke up.

"Boss, weren't we just talking about how ridiculous it is that our next opponent is sending only one person? Shouldn't we focus on that?"

Earlier, Director Ao had visited the Emperor Team to inform them of their upcoming opponent—a single Spirit Ancestor from Shrek Academy. Initially dismissive, Yu Tianheng grew intrigued when he learned this Spirit Ancestor was the famed Feng Xian, known for breaking spirit ring limits and never fully unleashing his power in the arena. After some deliberation, the team agreed to the match.

"A mere Spirit Ancestor, daring to act so arrogant—does he not know who we are?" Yu Tianheng sneered.

Just as he finished speaking, a voice echoed from the doorway.

"Perhaps they really don't know who we are."

The team turned to see a man entering the room. His presence commanded immediate respect; even the meditating Shi brothers opened their eyes and stood. All seven team members, including Yu Tianheng, rose to greet him.

"Teacher, welcome!"

The man was a middle-aged teacher who appeared around thirty. His looks were ordinary—simple black hair, plain clothes—but his sharp eyes shone with an intelligence and depth that betrayed his unassuming appearance. He was none other than Qin Ming, the Emperor Team's teacher and a former prodigy of Shrek Academy.

Though his demeanor was modest, the respect he garnered from the team was a testament to his abilities. If Yun Feng had been present, he would have admired the man's resilience, knowing how rare it was for someone to leave Shrek Academy unscathed and thrive.

Qin Ming's expression was unusually grave, drawing the curiosity of his students.

"Teacher, is something wrong?" one of them asked.

His bright black eyes flashed with a hint of intrigue.

"You're in for a tough match. I just got the details about tonight's opponent from the City Lord."

Walking over to the crystal table, he sat down and unfurled a scroll, placing it on the table for the team to see.

"This is the official confirmation from the Great Spirit Arena. Take a look."

The team gathered around, eager to read the scroll. Although they knew their opponent was called Feng Xian and was a Spirit Ancestor, they hadn't taken him seriously.

Yu Tianheng read aloud, his tone skeptical.

"Feng Xian, a member of the Shrek team. Due to his strength surpassing that of his teammates, he established his own team and has been competing solo in group matches. Because of his prowess, he has consistently fought alone."

Pausing, Yu Tianheng scoffed.

"Teacher, they're just Iron Spirit Fighters. Even if this 'Sword Emperor' is strong, does he really deserve to face us?"

"And he's just one person!" Yu Tianheng continued, his voice dripping with disdain.

"Do you really think we'll end up like those second-rate teams in Suotuo City, getting defeated one by one?"

Qin Ming's expression turned peculiar, and he replied coolly,

"Why don't you keep reading?"

Perplexed, Yu Tianheng resumed reading the scroll. His voice was softer now, but it carried clearly across the room.

"One month ago, Feng Xian registered as an Iron Spirit Fighter. In this past month, he has competed in four matches daily, maintaining an undefeated streak of 120 consecutive wins."

His voice faltered as he read further.

"During two-on-two matches, he brought along Spirit Grandmasters with spirit power in the twenties to fight against Spirit Ancestors. Despite this, he never lost."

Yu Tianheng's hands trembled slightly as he read the final line.

"Most critically, Feng Xian has never used his martial spirit or spirit abilities in any match."

The room fell silent. Though Qin Ming's voice was calm, his words carried the weight of a thunderclap.

"Do you understand now? This isn't an ordinary Spirit Ancestor."

The Windchime Bird Spirit Master, Yu Feng, broke the silence, his voice tinged with disbelief.

"Teacher, this has to be a mistake. How could someone achieve

such a record?"

Qin Ming's subtle shake of the head crushed any lingering hope of error.
