Chapter 314: Seele's Thankful Kiss
"Ren!"
Natasha and Seele were both surprised and delighted when they saw him approaching.
"Hiss!" Seele tried to get up but pulled her wound, gasping in pain.
Ren gently raised his hand and placed it on her tender arm. At first, Seele didn't understand, but after a golden light flashed for a moment, she felt the pain disappear.
"Eh?" Natasha, beside her, saw clearly that Seele's arm had completely recovered at a visible speed. How? The power of a Pathstrider?
Ren thought for a moment, then released a trace of his power of salvation that permeated the entire room. All the injured and sick people recovered one by one.
"My injury is healed!"
"Really! Mine too!"
After a moment of excitement, the group repeatedly thanked Ren and wisely left.
"Thank… thank you," Seele turned her face away, somewhat unaccustomed to saying that word.
Natasha smiled slightly. "Did Ren come specifically to find Seele?"
On this question, Ren chose to be a person of high emotional intelligence. "I was originally going to see Seele first, then come here, but I didn't expect to sense that you were all here."
"So that's it. Did you return to Belobog today?"
"Yes, I brought Cocolia to see Bronya."
Seele furrowed her beautiful brows. "That bastard Cocolia…"
"Cough cough…" Ren awkwardly cleared his throat. "Um, Cocolia is my girlfriend now."
He certainly wouldn't stop Seele from cursing Cocolia, but he hoped she could do it behind his back.
"..."
Seele and Natasha immediately widened their eyes. Seele even cried out, "Huh?!"
"This… this…" she stammered for a long time.
Natasha timely changed the subject. "Mother and daughter reuniting is indeed a cause for celebration. So, Ren, do you have anything else planned?"
Ren took over the topic. "I don't have too many plans, just going to have some fun here."
"By the way, what happened that even Seele got injured?"
Upon hearing this, Seele made a bitter face. "Nothing much. We found a new geode vein and encountered a collapse while saving a few people."
Injuries from saving people during a mining accident. That makes sense.
"By the way, I heard from Bronya that you were looking for me. Is there something?" Ren asked.
"Uh… this… that…" This question made Seele hesitate.
Seeing this, Natasha knew Seele was shy, so she smiled. "I'll go out and see if there are any other patients." She then walked out, closing the door behind her.
Only the two of them were left.
"Cough cough." Seele cleared her throat, her expression turning serious. "Ren, thank you for everything you've done for Belobog. Without you, we would probably live in the damned Underworld our entire lives."
"In fact, when I was very young, I went to the Overworld." Seele's crystalline eyes seemed to be recalling something. "At a restaurant, I saw them throwing exquisite food, which we would never see, into the trash."
"From then on, I hated the Overworld so much. Why could they be so wasteful, while we struggled to survive in a rat's nest?"
"The children of the Underworld might never see blue skies in their entire lives, or eat the food they throw away…"
Taking a deep breath, Seele looked up, her eyes shining with gratitude. "Thank you, Ren. Your arrival means our future is no longer a dead end, and our people can also see the sunlight."
"Truly… thank you very much!" Seele bowed deeply to Ren. It was the first time she had bowed in gratitude since her memories became clear.
Sensing her sincerity, Ren said with a serious expression, "I accept your thanks." However, he suddenly changed the topic. "But, is that all you have for your thanks?"
"What do you mean?" Seele didn't understand.
Ren grinned. "As the saying goes, 'to apologize, you must show your sincerity.' So, to express thanks, shouldn't you at least give a kiss?"
"Huh? What are you talking about?!" Seele's long legs took a step back, her arms crossed over her chest, and her pretty face turned crimson. "Wh-… what 'show sincerity'? I've never heard of that!"
"Hahaha, I'm just teasing you." He knew she would react like this, and it was quite cute. He seemed to be growing more fond of teasing pretty girls now, especially after he had severely disciplined Seimei with a belt.
"..."
Seele's large, blue-violet eyes stared silently at Ren's face for a long while. She bit her lip, then quickly stepped forward and pecked him on his right cheek.
Then she rushed out of the room, shouting before closing the door, "Does that count as thanks? Honestly…" Bang!
"Seele, why is your face so red?" Natasha at the doorway had a half-smile on her face. Seele was breathing heavily, her face flushed.
"N-... nothing! It was too stuffy in the room. I'm going to the mine now!" She braved Natasha's teasing gaze and fled. She was not someone who was good at being shy!
"This child…" Natasha watched her retreating back and shook her head slightly. Just then, Ren also walked out.
Natasha turned around, hands on her hips. "Ren, you didn't bully Seele, did you? She just ran away."
"Well, not really bullying. In fact, I was kissed."
"Ah?" Natasha blinked rapidly, wondering if she had misheard.
Ren himself felt that what he said was quite shameless. Out of concern for Seele, Natasha still boldly asked, "Mr. Ren, you said you confirmed your relationship with Cocolia?"
"That's right," Ren answered with composure.
