Don’t Play Games at Evil Spirit High

Ch. 2

Chapter 2: Something Bad

Lu Feng quietly followed Liuli to a secluded corner of the school.

“What is it, Liuli? I have class soon.”

Lu Feng looked at her with confusion.

Liuli remained silent for a while, as if making some great decision.

Then, all of a sudden, she turned her back to Lu Feng and took off her shirt.

Lu Feng froze, then his face immediately flushed red.

He quickly turned his back, panicking as he stammered,

“Hey, w-what are you doing? I-I’m not that kind of guy! Besides… humans and ghosts can’t possibly have an ending!”

“I… I didn’t mean that… Lu Feng, just turn around and look…”

Liuli’s voice was faint, like the buzz of a mosquito, trembling slightly as though she was forcing down her shyness.

Lu Feng stiffly turned around, his gaze darting nervously toward Liuli’s bare back.

But in the next moment, he froze.

“What… is that?”

On Liuli’s translucent back were many intricate, eerie black patterns.

They looked like characters, yet Lu Feng had never seen them before.

“I don’t know either… these markings seemed to suddenly appear on my back last night…”

Liuli shook her head and put her clothes back on.

“And… lately, I’ve felt uneasy, as if something bad is about to happen…”

Her clear eyes looked at Lu Feng, faint fear flashing within them.

“So, I want to ask you one thing.”

“Ask me?”

Lu Feng couldn’t understand.

What could he possibly do to help Liuli?

“What is it?”

“Tomorrow… please don’t come to school.”

“Tomorrow?”

Lu Feng frowned.

Wasn’t that the day of the school’s fiftieth anniversary? Why would Liuli specifically mention that?

“Why not?”

“Because… if you come to school, something bad will happen… probably…”

“Something bad? What kind of thing?”

“…I don’t know.”

“Then how do you know something bad will happen?”

“…”

Liuli stayed silent.

It seemed even she couldn’t answer Lu Feng’s question.

This made him even more suspicious.

What was wrong with her today? Why was she talking so strangely?

Could she be sick?

Wait… could ghosts even get sick?

And if they did, who would treat them? A ghost doctor?

Just as Lu Feng’s thoughts began drifting wildly, Liuli spoke again,

“Even though I can’t explain why… no matter what, please don’t come to school tomorrow…”

Her pleading eyes looked pitifully at him.

“Please…”

That look nearly broke Lu Feng’s mental defenses—

He suddenly remembered how every time Yu Mo begged him to lend her his homework, she wore the exact same expression as Liuli’s.

And for Lu Feng, that kind of expression was just too lethal.

Even so, he had no intention of agreeing to such a bizarre request.

First of all, Liuli couldn’t even explain why he shouldn’t come to school tomorrow.

That alone was suspicious.

Second, there was only one month left until the college entrance exams.

Every single day was precious for a student preparing for it.

Just as Lu Feng was about to say more, the class bell rang right on cue.

“We’ll talk about this at lunch. I need to get back to class.”

Lu Feng immediately said goodbye to Liuli and ran back to the classroom.

The next class was with that strict and rigid chemistry teacher.

He had no intention of being late and forced to stand in the hallway.

Liuli was left behind, standing dazedly in place, silently watching Lu Feng’s departing figure.

After the third period ended, Lu Feng rushed to the library—he suddenly remembered that he had forgotten his workbook there yesterday.

Entering the library, Lu Feng greeted the familiar librarian and quickly walked to his usual spot.

Luckily, the workbook was still in the drawer under the desk.

It hadn’t been lost.

Lu Feng let out a small sigh of relief.

Just as he was about to leave, a book suddenly slipped off a shelf, landing right in front of him.

Lu Feng picked it up and, out of habit, flipped it open.

There wasn’t much content inside—mostly pictures.

It looked like an illustration book.

Unfortunately, the art style wasn’t really to his taste.

After casually glancing at a few pages, Lu Feng was about to close it when his hand suddenly stopped, his eyes caught by one particular illustration.

This illustration was titled, *“Don’t Go to School.”*

The picture showed a crying child pointing toward the school, bawling loudly.

Inside the school stood an ugly monster, baring its fangs and claws as if it could charge out at any moment to swallow the child whole.

Although the picture looked ridiculous, Lu Feng couldn’t help but shiver.

Liuli’s words from the morning seemed to echo perfectly with the image before him.

The strange coincidence made his skin crawl.

But the break was about to end, and he didn’t have time to dwell on it.

He returned the book to its place and hurried back to class.

Close to noon, the lunch bell finally rang to the cheers of the hungry students, who rushed toward the cafeteria like a pack of wolves.

But Lu Feng didn’t follow his classmates.

Instead, he stayed alone in the classroom—he was waiting for Liuli.

However, no matter how long he waited, the female ghost never appeared.

Lu Feng couldn’t help but sigh.

She must have liked standing people up when she was alive too.

So, he decided to get something to eat.

But at this hour, if he went to the cafeteria now, all the good food would already be gone.

*Sigh, I guess I’ll just have to make do with bread…*

Suddenly, the smell of food wafted through the air.

It smelled like his favorite—braised pork ribs with potatoes.

The scent made Lu Feng even hungrier.

He didn’t expect the cafeteria’s food to be so good today—what a loss for him.

Reluctantly, Lu Feng stood up, ready to head to the snack shop for bread.

At that moment, someone walked into the classroom with light steps, carrying a packed meal box.

The delicious aroma came from it.

“Here, for you!”

Yu Mo shoved the lunchbox into Lu Feng’s hands and casually wiped her greasy fingers on his clothes.

“Yu Mo? You…”

Lu Feng looked at her in surprise, but Yu Mo puffed out her well-developed chest and gave a proud smile.

“I saw you sulking all morning and not even going to eat at lunch, so this young lady kindly got food for you.”

Just as Lu Feng understood Yu Mo, she also understood him.

She always noticed his odd behavior right away.

Lu Feng shook his head with a helpless smile and habitually patted her head.

“Then thank you, Miss.”

“Ahh! Don’t touch my head with your greasy hands!”

Opening the lunchbox, Lu Feng found all his favorite dishes inside.

His mood immediately lifted.

But just as he picked up his chopsticks, a white wriggling creature crawled out of the rice.

Then, more and more of the same creatures emerged, covering the entire meal.

Lu Feng’s face changed instantly.

Beside him, Yu Mo turned pale with fright, letting out a scream.

“H-how could this be! How could the cafeteria food have…”

Indeed, Lu Feng couldn’t understand either.

How could so many maggots suddenly appear in perfectly fine food?

“It’s okay, it must just be a coincidence…”

He quickly comforted Yu Mo, who was covering her mouth in nausea, then rushed to throw the maggot-infested lunchbox into the trash can by the classroom door.

But as soon as he did, Lu Feng felt something was wrong.

Fighting back his disgust, he glanced into the trash can.

What he saw made his expression shift from revulsion to shock.

The white maggots writhed continuously, but their movements seemed to follow a pattern.

In the end, their disgusting bodies formed several twisted words—

**Don’t come to school tomorrow!**

Lu Feng walked with a dark expression toward the usual place where he met Liuli.

The female ghost disliked crowds and usually stayed in the school’s secluded corners.

There was no doubt—what had just happened was definitely her doing.

What other explanation could there possibly be?

Just to stop him from coming to school tomorrow, she had gone so far as to do something so cruel.

How could she?

Did being a ghost mean you no longer had to follow moral rules?

The more Lu Feng thought about it, the angrier he became.

He decided to find that ghost girl and have a serious talk.

But just as he stormed ahead, he suddenly heard a scream from above.

Instinctively, he looked up—just in time to see a shadow falling straight toward his head.

At that critical moment, a strange force shoved Lu Feng aside, forcing him to take a step back.

*Crash!!!*

The next second, a flowerpot smashed onto the exact spot where he had been standing, shattering into pieces.
