Chapter 295: The Ruined World (First update, please subscribe)
Rumble!
At the bottom of the Volcanic Cluster Domain, the scorching lava echoed like the tide.
Austin, like a giant swimming fish, dived deep into the magma layer.
With excellent eyesight, he saw the lava area ahead, where brilliant glows circulated, like a giant vortex twisting in the void.
It seemed as if the space beneath the magma was in turmoil at that point.
"This is it!"
This was the source of the upheaval in Austin's heart during his slumber.
What could it be?
Austin flapped his wings, arriving before the void vortex, contemplating in his heart.
The appearance of the Fire Elemental Lord and numerous Fire Elementals in the Prime Material Plane was likely related to this void vortex within the lava.
He had explored the entire Volcanic Cluster Domain and only found this anomaly at this location.
"The Power of Space is surging, could the other side be a Fire Elemental Plane?"
Austin pondered involuntarily.
Perhaps a Fire Elemental Plane created this loophole connecting to the Prime Material Plane, allowing the Elemental Lord and numerous elemental creatures to breach into this world.
But still, something seemed amiss.
Austin didn't dwell on it. He stared dazedly at the void vortex.
If indeed the other side is an Elemental Plane, does it mean there are many Half-Legendary creatures like Fire Elemental Lords there?
Might he be able to lure them into the Prime Material Plane, where their strength would be significantly weakened, making them easy prey for him?
In an instant, hundreds or thousands of plans flashed through Austin's mind.
Go take a look.
Austin felt a bit eager.
If he could indeed lure eight or ten Half-Legendary Fire Elemental Lords and then hunt them in the Prime Material Plane, his path to becoming Legendary might not be far off.
Think and act!
Thus, Austin flapped his wings and darted toward the void vortex.
As his body touched the spatial vortex, Austin distinctly felt a repelling force, as if it was preventing him from entering.
"Can't enter?"
A sinking feeling crept into Austin's heart. No wonder the Fire Elemental Lord and those numerous fire creatures hadn't left the Prime Material Plane; their retreat was cut off.
Just let it go.
However, just as Austin was about to give up and leave, a thin force within him suddenly flickered and vanished.
"What was that?"
The trace of thin power appeared and disappeared too quickly; Austin only felt a vague familiarity, but the next moment, the void vortex suddenly burst with powerful attraction, swallowing his entire body instantly.
Not good!
His vision suddenly went dark. The light around him vanished rapidly, giving the sensation of being spun rapidly inside a washing machine.
Austin struggled to resist, feeling a powerful force tearing at his body, as if trying to rip him apart.
If not for his dragon body having been tempered and becoming incredibly strong, he might have been severely injured at the first moment.
Fortunately, this change came and went quickly, in just a breath; all the anomalies disappeared. Austin, like a stone, spun down from the sky, crashing onto the ground.
Boom!
Like a heavy iron statue swirling down from the sky, cracking the ground open and raising a cloud of dust and smoke.
He hastily scrambled up, warily scanning his surroundings.
No danger.
However, as the world shifted, the previous magma lake had disappeared, as if he had entered another world.
A world that is dying.
The dim sky shrouded the land, giving an extremely oppressive feeling. The land's soil was dried up, the corpses of plants and trees lay scattered, devoid of any signs of life.
Bleak, gray, as if the whole world was heading for its final end.
This was the impression the world gave Austin the instant he surveyed his surroundings.
And indeed, the entire spatial world was only about four or five kilometers in circumference.
At the edges of the space, the whole world was crumbling and dissipating in the chaotic currents outside, turning to ash, with even the space crumbling within the gray fissures.
This spatial world is dying!
Moreover, it's nearing its final moment of demise.
"It's not an Elemental Plane, what a trouble."
Looking around, Austin's heart sank.
Even though he hadn't seen an Elemental Plane, he knew it would never be like this.
"The Fire Elemental Lord and those Fire Elementals must have escaped from here. Does this mean it's a spatial world of some Great Divine Power User traversing the Multi-universe?"
Austin pondered heavily.
Then, how to get back?
The void vortex that brought him here had disappeared; the entire spatial world seemed established within chaos, continually dissipating under chaos erosion.
The retreat was gone. Must he and this spatial world be eroded by chaos and dissipate into nothingness together?
For a moment, faint regret sprouted in Austin's heart.
He should have realized earlier.
If the void vortex led to an Elemental Plane, why would the Fire Elemental Lord and its race leave and relocate to the Prime Material Plane?
To them, the Prime Material Plane was like foul, stinky water to fish.
Some irresistible power must have driven them to abandon their homeland and live in polluted water.
While the Fire Elementals fled the place, he rushed in.
However, the trace of regret only flickered briefly.
Wasting time regretting past actions was not Austin's style.
Since I've come, let it be. Exploring might unveil a grand opportunity for ascendance.
Thinking of this, Austin's mood improved.
He stepped forward, walking slowly onward.
In this dilapidated, near-destroyed spatial world, in the center, obscured by a forest of gigantic, demon-like dry trees clawing at the sky, seemed to lie a structure.
It, too, was the most noticeable part of the spatial world, perhaps containing some answers.
Cautiously moving through the dry forest,
No surprises.
Soon, he arrived at a former garden.
The former.
From the dead, withered corpses of flowers, plants, and trees, one could vaguely see the garden's past glory.
But, ultimately it had perished.
There was no vitality, only withered, yellow-leafed plants remaining.
Much like this spatial world nearing its final demise, the plants shriveled, like sunset's elderly.
Just as he was about to leave, suddenly,
Whoosh!
An arrow of water shot out, striking Austin's tough scales with a metallic clang.
This water arrow packed the punch of some small-sized bullets.
But in front of Austin's scales, it couldn't even leave a white mark.
"Water Elemental? Since when!"
He turned abruptly, his expression immediately growing serious.
Unbeknownst to him, a midnight-blue Water Elemental stood behind a withered old tree, its mouth wide open—it was the one that had just fired the water arrow.
A Bronze Level Water Elemental alone couldn't make Austin serious.
But one by one, Water Elementals began appearing from between the surrounding forests.
At the same time, a vast Elemental Power surged through the decayed Celestial Secret Force Field, with a torrent of powerful Water Attribute Power sweeping across the sky.
Water Elemental Lord!
