Don't Mess with That Dragon

Chapter 209: Occupation

"Roar!!!"

Beside the endlessly writhing Corpse Mountain Giant Tumor, towering over a thousand meters high like a flesh and bone factory, a colossal giant beast with half its body rotted and its ghastly white ribs protruding from its waist let out a roar.

Immediately, one by one, the decayed undead zombies turned their heads uniformly towards the charging cavalry legion, their rotted eye sockets with worm-eaten eyeballs rolling, and fat maggots dropping from the eyes.

The terrifying eyes fixed upon the oncoming Dragon Nest Cavalry Legion, under the gaze of thousands upon thousands of rotted eyeballs, sent shivers down the spine.

If it were warriors from other Beastman Tribes within the Kawa Great Forest, they would have long since fled in fear under such circumstances, but the Dragon Nest Tribe's Cavalry Legion, akin to fanatical followers of Austin, showed no drop in morale.

"Just some mere undead frames, everyone, follow me to fight!"

The centaur, naturally half a body taller than ordinary beastmen or creatures, under the rapid group charge, resembled a high-speed, racing large truck. The sparse outer undead zombies were crushed to dust before they could even react to the terrifying impact.

"Shoot arrows!"

With a loud order from Chiron, the centaurs behind him, while running at full speed, firmly gripped their bows and arrows, shooting skyward. The volley of arrows swiftly covered the sea of undead zombies below.

Whoosh whoosh whoosh...

Under the large arrow rain, one zombie after another was either pierced through the body or had their heads punctured. In such expansive firing, almost every arrow struck the undead, though unless precisely hitting the head, these arrow storms did not inflict much harm on the undead.

Of course, the purpose of the centaur legion's archery was not to annihilate the enemy but to draw the hatred of a wider range, luring more undead zombies away from the vicinity.

With the fall of the first wave of arrows, the centaur legion split into two columns, making a sharp turn, galloping left and right while continually nocking arrows and shooting toward the dense zombies.

The range of the cavalry's attacks thus widened, drawing significant attention from large groups of undead.

Rumble!

Although peculiar, upon seeing these living creatures, the undead zombies instinctively charged towards the Dragon Nest cavalry.

From a high vantage point, the dense sea of undead zombies suddenly surged like a mountain flood, with the black tide sweeping forward, seemingly poised to engulf all the centaur cavalry.

At this moment,

"Retreat!"

With a sharp whistle, the cavalry turned and dashed back in the direction they came.

"Great, just like this!"

Chiron, looking at the myriad of distracted undead behind, felt exhilarated, constantly galloping forward.

The undead gathered beside the Corpse Mountain Giant Tumor, colossal like a flesh factory, had exceeded tens of thousands. In the face of such immense numbers, five hundred Dragon Nest cavalry were like a fist-sized stone thrown into a river, the ripples they stirred extremely limited.

But fortunately, they had bows and arrows. By relying on the bow's powerful range and splitting the cavalry for scouring runs, they maximized the draw of attention from the vast undead sea, successfully luring them away.

"Great, keep it up! Don't go too fast, keep them trailing!"

The Dragon Nest beastmen cavalry led the way, followed closely behind by the overwhelming tide of undead like waves.

As numerous undead creatures chased, the area around the Corpse Mountain Giant Tumor gradually thinned out.

Meanwhile, neither the Corpse Mountain Giant Tumor nor the Pyramid below showed any reaction.

It was only when the Dragon Nest Legion started charging that the Corpse Mountain slowly twisted, the rotting eyeballs on its massive tumor surface scanning what were to it merely ant-like centaur warriors.

Watching the centaur legion's departure, the undead halted their pursuit, standing quietly at the original spot.

...

Meanwhile, on the other side, within a secretive mountain valley, a large number of elite beastman armies gathered.

The entire valley was filled with an intimidating aura of military preparedness, with not a single sound to be heard.

Lying on the ground were many decayed corpses, zombies that had roamed here earlier, cleaned out before any signal could be sent.

"Your Highness, Chiron and the others have succeeded!"

Soon, several figures sprang from the other side of the mountains, kneeling upon entering and reporting.

"Just wait a little longer..."

Austin's calm voice echoed through the air, his gaze already fixed in the direction of the massive Corpse Mountain Giant Tumor partially hidden under the shadow of the mountains not far off.

The pace of regular undead was slower than that of goblins, and even more powerful undead could not move too quickly.

With the speed of the centaurs, as long as Chiron wasn't overly greedy and rash, there should be no loss.

Now it was time to wait until Chiron led the centaur cavalry to lure the undead army far enough away before making a move!

Within the valley, the atmosphere was noticeably tense.

After half an hour, calculating that they had lured the target far enough, Austin's eyes flashed with determination as he solemnly ordered:

"Transmit the order, attack!"

With the command, the army hiding in the valley sprang into action, over four thousand elite beastmen launching their charge like beasts out of a floodgate, rushing across the mountain and valley.

Perhaps due to the terrain, few zombie creatures lurked in this jagged valley, with well-equipped and well-trained Dragon Nest beastmen thrusting their sharp long spears into the zombies' heads with ease.

Groups of Dragon Nest beastmen, like killing machines, swept through unstoppably, easily eradicating all undead zombies in front of them.

Even though additional zombies surged in from all sides, it only took the Dragon Nest beastmen a bit of time to easily wipe them out against the invincible spear wall.

The Dragon Nest Legion, like the cavalry, emphasized speed—swift as a flash!

In no time, the mighty, almost meat grinder-like Dragon Nest Legion captured the target peak near the Corpse Mountain Giant Tumor and established an impregnable defense.

At this moment, Austin stood upon the mountain top.
