Chapter 95: Begin!
Fu Yan sighed helplessly after hearing Fu Ya's words.
"Fu Ya, don't be like this!"
"Your attitude is really putting me in a difficult position!"
However, Fu Yan's words had no effect. Fu Ya showed no intention of backing down and instead became even more insistent.
"Hmph! What do you mean 'in a difficult position'?"
"I'm giving you two choices. One, you go with that vixen and never acknowledge me as your daughter again! Two, you choose me, your daughter, over that vixen. Decide for yourself!"
Listening to the two choices Fu Ya gave him, Fu Yan was momentarily at a loss for words and could only let out a long sigh.
Meanwhile, Liu Ergou felt the situation was becoming dire and regretted coming here with Fu Yan.
Fortunately, Fu Ya didn't dwell on the matter. Seeing that Fu Yan remained silent, she just snorted coldly.
"Hmph! I knew that vixen was far more important to you than I am!"
With that, Fu Ya turned and stalked back to her room, leaving Liu Ergou and Fu Yan sitting in the living room, looking at each other in dismay.
After a long moment, Fu Yan finally spoke.
"I'm sorry, Er Gou. My daughter… forget it. It's not worth mentioning."
"But honestly, you're the first person my daughter hasn't taken a disliking to. It's truly miraculous!"
Liu Ergou didn't say anything in response.
Fu Yan continued, "Anyway, Er Gou, let's not talk about my daughter for now. When would you be available to treat my illness?"
"I was wrong last time; I shouldn't have questioned you."
"I went to the hospital for a check-up, and the doctors told me I'm in the final stages. I can only wait to die…"
Saying this, Fu Yan couldn't help but sigh deeply.
Watching Fu Yan's melancholic expression, Liu Ergou was about to speak when Fu Yan, as if remembering something, suddenly slapped his forehead.
"Oh, how careless of me, Er Gou! I almost forgot something so important!"
With that, Fu Yan turned and left the living room, returning a moment later with a bank card in his hand. He approached Liu Ergou and solemnly handed it to him.
"Er Gou, I'm sorry for forgetting such an important detail. This card has 300,000 in it. Please accept it as a token of my sincerity. I can't let you work for free!"
"Don't refuse, just take it. You deserve it!"
Liu Ergou blinked as he stared at the bank card in his hand. I can't believe it. 300,000, just like that? It was practically effortless! I still have the money Third Master Liu gave me. Let's see… Does this mean my net worth has somehow surpassed 500,000? And it's only been a few days. A week at most.
Thinking of this, Liu Ergou grew more and more excited for the future. Although he was ecstatic inside, his face showed no emotion, remaining as calm as ever.
Liu Ergou accepted the bank card and slowly tucked it into his pocket.
"Uncle Fu, you're too kind," Liu Ergou said. "Don't worry. I understand the principle of taking money to solve a problem. I'll start your treatment right away!"
"However, you need to find a quiet place where we absolutely will not be disturbed."
"You know your condition is very serious. If I'm interrupted, I can't guarantee what might happen!"
Upon hearing this, Fu Yan's heart surged with joy. He immediately led Liu Ergou upstairs, saying as they walked, "Er Gou, come to my study. It's the quietest room in the house; no one will disturb us there."
"I usually do my work in there!"
Liu Ergou had no objections. As long as he wasn't disturbed, it was fine. If he were interrupted, Liu Ergou truly couldn't guarantee what would happen.
While Liu Ergou was distracted, Fu Yan had already led him into the study.
The first thing Fu Yan did upon entering was lock the door. Then he sat down on a chair.
"Er Gou, what should I do next?" he asked. "As long as you can cure my illness, I'll cooperate with you no matter what!"
Liu Ergou nodded. "Uncle Fu, don't be nervous. Just listen to me."
"First, take off your shirt and lie facedown on the bed. I'm going to use acupuncture to treat you."
Fu Yan didn't hesitate for a second. He immediately stripped off his shirt, unfolded a cot, and lay down on it. He moved so quickly that Liu Ergou was taken aback.
While Liu Ergou was still stunned, Fu Yan spoke up, "I'm ready, Er Gou. It's all up to you now!"
Fu Yan's words snapped Liu Ergou back to reality. He quickly stood up and approached Fu Yan, then took out the silver needles he carried with him. Still, Liu Ergou felt a bit uneasy and began to give instructions again.
"Uncle Fu, forgive me for repeating myself, but I must stress this again: while I am treating you, I cannot be disturbed, and you must not move."
"Whatever happens, you must endure it and remain perfectly still. If you move, not only will all our progress be lost, but the cancer cells could metastasize!"
"Do you understand, Uncle Fu?" Liu Ergou's tone was dead serious.
His words were so grave that Fu Yan couldn't help but break into a cold sweat.
"Yes, I understand!" Fu Yan promised solemnly. "Rest assured, I won't move no matter what."
Hearing Fu Yan's solemn promise, Liu Ergou stopped hesitating. He took a deep breath, drew a silver needle, and channeled the Qi from his body into it.
In the next second, a silver light flashed. The needle flew from his hand on its own, embedding itself in Fu Yan's back.
Seeing the needle, Liu Ergou nodded with satisfaction. With a slight flick of his fingers, more than a dozen silver needles transformed into streaks of silver light, flying out one after another to embed themselves in Fu Yan's back.
A smile touched Liu Ergou's lips. Although he could perform this feat before, back then he had to rely purely on the strength of his fingertips. Now, however, he wasn't using physical force but the Qi from within his body.
Qi-guided Needling!
This method not only conserved his strength but also greatly enhanced the treatment's effectiveness.
