Doctor and His Glamorous Sister-in-Law

Xiao Rou watched reluctantly as Liu Ergou left her house, her eyes following his figure until it vanished completely from sight.

Seeing this, Zhang Cuifang let out a long sigh, not daring to say anything more. She subconsciously started to ask Xiao Rou for a glass of water, but the memory of Liu Ergou's recent demeanor made her swallow her words and remain silent.

Liu Ergou was on his way home when a sedan suddenly pulled up in front of him, giving him a start. Just as he was about to ask who it was, the car window rolled down, revealing Lu Shuangyue's face. A look of surprise crossed Liu Ergou's face when he saw her.

"Boss Lu, what are you doing here?" he asked. "How did you find my place? If I recall correctly, I never told you where I lived!"

A smile touched Lu Shuangyue's lips. "It was simple enough. You told me you lived in Fengzhu Village, and that your name is Liu Ergou. I just had to ask around. As it happens, I was already on my way to your house. I didn't expect to run into you on the road!"

As she spoke, Lu Shuangyue patted the passenger seat. "Come on, Divine Doctor Ergou, get in!"

Hearing this, Liu Ergou instinctively shrank back. He covered his chest with his hands and feigned a look of terror. "What are you trying to do?" he asked with a hint of panic. "Don't you get any funny ideas about me!"

Liu Ergou's playful antics earned him an exasperated look from Lu Shuangyue, who rolled her eyes dramatically. "Who'd want to have any designs on you! Get in the car. I'm treating you to a meal so we can discuss my treatment. I've been feeling a bit under the weather the last couple of days."

After her explanation, Liu Ergou finally nodded. He got into the passenger seat and buckled up. Lu Shuangyue stepped on the gas, and the sedan sped away from Fengzhu Village.

On the way to town, Liu Ergou's gaze kept drifting toward Lu Shuangyue. He didn't mean to stare, but her outfit that day was just too eye-catching. Lu Shuangyue was wearing a white blouse, a pair of ultra-short denim shorts, and sneakers. Her hair was draped casually over her shoulders, and combined with her exquisite features, she gave off a youthful yet vibrant aura.

As she drove, Lu Shuangyue felt Liu Ergou's intense gaze and huffed in annoyance. "Hmph, what are you looking at? Haven't you seen a beautiful woman before?"

Liu Ergou replied, "I've seen beautiful women, but none as stunning as you."

The blunt compliment made Lu Shuangyue's cheeks flush. She turned her head away and stopped paying attention to him. Liu Ergou just smiled and said no more, sitting quietly in the passenger seat. The atmosphere in the car grew silent for a moment, but the quiet was short-lived.

Fengzhu Village wasn't too far from the town, and Lu Shuangyue arrived in just over an hour.

Upon reaching the town, the two headed straight for the hotel they had booked. A waiter led Lu Shuangyue and Liu Ergou directly to their reserved private room. The private room Lu Shuangyue had booked was on the top floor, offering an unrestricted view of the entire town. Though it was only a small town, the scenery was quite lovely, if little known.

The two had barely sat down when a waiter promptly brought over the menu. Lu Shuangyue scanned it briefly, casually ordered a few dishes, and then pushed the menu to Liu Ergou, gesturing for him to order. He, however, declined.

"It's alright, Boss Lu. I'm not good at ordering. I'll eat whatever you get."

Hearing this, Lu Shuangyue didn't insist. She ordered a few more dishes and handed the menu back to the waiter. The waiter soon left, leaving just Lu Shuangyue and Liu Ergou in the private room. They chatted idly while enjoying the view.

"This is my first time at this hotel," Liu Ergou remarked. "I think it's pretty nice!"

Without turning her head, Lu Shuangyue scoffed, "You call this nice? It's just a shabby little hotel. It's nothing compared to the ones in the city. If it weren't the best place in town, I never would have brought you here."

Her words effectively killed the conversation. Looking at her, Liu Ergou suddenly found himself at a loss for words.

Just then, however, a clamor of voices erupted from outside the room.

"I'm telling you, Manager, you're being out of line! We just want to sit on the top floor, why won't you let us? You looking down on us brothers or something? If you've got a problem, just say it. No need to be like this. You're really hurting our feelings!"

The manager's apologetic voice followed. "I'm sorry, gentlemen, I'm terribly sorry. The private room upstairs has already been reserved. The person who booked it is the president of Baozhi Hall, President Lu! How about I find you another table? It's a very nice spot as well!"

A burst of laughter followed. "Hahaha! President Lu? We're looking for President Lu! Now get lost!"

A scream rang out, followed by the sound of many footsteps rapidly approaching their room. Hearing the commotion, Liu Ergou couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. Lu Shuangyue's expression, however, turned grim.

Lu Shuangyue was no fool; she knew someone was deliberately causing trouble. It has to be Cai Qiang, she thought. I've been here for a while now, and he's the only person I've offended.

"What's your plan, Boss Lu?" Liu Ergou asked from the side.

Without turning her head, Lu Shuangyue replied, "What else can I do? Teach these guys a lesson, of course. I'll never submit to that sissy Cai Qiang. The mere sight of him makes me sick!"

As she spoke, she made a gagging gesture. Seeing this, Liu Ergou couldn't help but laugh out loud.

"Alright, alright, I get it," Liu Ergou said, standing up and rolling his shoulders.
