Doctor and His Glamorous Sister-in-Law

Chapter 56 Trouble

Fu Ya, who had been pulled back, still looked puzzled when she saw Liu Ergou.

"What's wrong? Er Gou, why won't you let me see that snake? I've never seen a live one in my life. Let go, I want to take a look!"

As she spoke, Fu Ya tried to break free from Liu Ergou to get a closer look at the snake. This left Liu Ergou feeling utterly helpless.

"Fu Ya, if you keep this up, I'll have to take you back. Didn't we agree before we came? When we're in the mountains, you have to listen to me about everything!"

Hearing this, Fu Ya finally settled down, which also allowed Liu Ergou to breathe a sigh of relief.

If she gets bitten by a snake, I can treat it, but it would be a real hassle. I should avoid any potential problems.

With that, Liu Ergou led Fu Ya around the safer parts of the mountain, intentionally avoiding any dangerous areas. At first, Fu Ya didn't notice anything unusual, but as time went on, she began to sense that something was off.

"Er Gou, why do I get the feeling you're just leading me around the base of the mountain?" Fu Ya said, stopping in her tracks.

Realizing he'd been caught, Liu Ergou didn't panic and feigned calmness. "What are you talking about? Fu Ya, I think you're overthinking it!"

Fu Ya was immediately displeased. "Er Gou, I might not have been in the mountains before, but I'm not a fool. We've been walking for an entire hour! How could we still be at the foot of the mountain? Look at me! I'm sweating so much!"

As she spoke, Fu Ya boldly unzipped her leather jacket, revealing a black, lace-trimmed bandeau underneath. Liu Ergou had sharp eyes. He instantly saw that her bandeau was soaked through, with several glistening beads of sweat clinging to the fabric. The sight made him swallow hard. The desire he had suppressed flared up again.

In both looks and figure, Fu Ya surpassed most of the people in Fengzhu Village; only a handful could even begin to compare. Of course, Wang Yanli was not among them.

Before Liu Ergou could say a word, Fu Ya grabbed his hand and pulled it to her chest. "Er Gou, help me wipe this off," she said. "It's all sweaty and sticky, it feels awful!"

How could I possibly pass up an invitation like this?

He immediately followed Fu Ya's request, slipping his hand inside and giving a firm wipe. He expected her to pull away, but to his surprise, she didn't. Instead, she blushed and let out a soft gasp, even arching her back a few times.

Her bold act actually made Liu Ergou a little embarrassed. He quickly withdrew his hand.

"Ahem, Fu Ya, you really are sweating a lot. Since there's no one else on the mountain, you should just leave your jacket open for a while to cool off."

"I'll take you to the summit now. It's windy up there, and the view is great!"

With that, Liu Ergou turned and walked ahead without looking back.

Watching his retreating figure, Fu Ya couldn't help but giggle softly before hurrying to catch up and follow him up the mountain.

This time, Liu Ergou didn't lead her in circles. He headed straight for the summit, and they reached the top in less than half an hour.

Standing at the summit, Fu Ya stood on tiptoe to look into the distance and couldn't help but sigh in admiration. "Wow, is this the summit? The view really is different!"

Liu Ergou, however, wasn't as happy as Fu Ya. He looked worried, because she was standing right on the edge of a cliff. If she wasn't careful, she could fall straight down, and that would be the end of her.

Fortunately, Fu Ya only glanced at the scenery before obediently returning to his side.

"Phew, Er Gou, I'm done looking. Let's go!" she said, gesturing for him to lead the way.

The moment he heard Fu Ya wanted to go back, Liu Ergou was thrilled. Without a shred of hesitation, he started walking toward the foot of the mountain. Ascending a mountain is slow, but descending is fast. In just over ten minutes, they were already nearly halfway down.

Liu Ergou turned his head to see Fu Ya panting heavily and couldn't help asking, "Fu Ya, shall we rest here for a bit before continuing on?"

Fu Ya had no objections and agreed with a smile.

They soon found a clean spot to sit. Liu Ergou took a water bottle out of his backpack and gave it to her. Fu Ya took the bottle without a second thought, downing a huge gulp before letting out a long sigh.

"Phew, Er Gou, I haven't been this happy in a long time!"

"I'm not happy in town, either. Sigh, my dad is so meddlesome. He won't let me do this or that, and he's always pushing me to get married. All I can do is ride my motorbike to blow off some steam!"

Hearing this, Liu Ergou didn't say anything. The reason was simple: he didn't know what to say, as he didn't really understand life in town. So, Liu Ergou could only sit silently beside her, listening as Fu Ya poured her heart out.

After a long while, Fu Ya finally fell silent, though she seemed reluctant to stop. She then stood up, indicating she was rested and ready to go.

Liu Ergou didn't dawdle and immediately walked ahead to lead the way.

However, as they were walking, a snow-white rabbit suddenly darted out from the side and bumped right into Fu Ya. This immediately piqued her interest. She reached out to catch it, but how could a wild rabbit let an ordinary person catch it? With just a few effortless hops, the snow-white rabbit put a good distance between itself and Fu Ya.

But Fu Ya showed no sign of giving up and chased after it. Her speed was so fast that by the time Liu Ergou realized what was happening, she had already pursued the rabbit a considerable distance.

"Fu Ya, where are you going? Come back! Don't chase the rabbit, it's dangerous in the mountains!" Liu Ergou shouted frantically.

Soon, Fu Ya's response came from afar. "It's fine! It's just a rabbit. I'll catch it in no time!"

Hearing this, a sense of foreboding washed over Liu Ergou.

The rabbits in these mountains aren't so easy to catch. They're tricky. They deliberately entice people to chase them, leading them bit by bit to other places. By the time you realize what's happened, you're already lost.

However, just as Liu Ergou was about to chase after her, a piercing scream suddenly came from the distance.

"Ah! Help!"

Hearing the scream, Liu Ergou tensed up. Without a second thought, he rushed in the direction of Fu Ya's voice.
