At the sound of that voice, Liu Ergou and Feng Chunling froze on the spot until the pounding on the door started again.

"How could it be Wu Dahu?" they exclaimed in unison.

They racked their brains but couldn't understand how Wu Dahu would know they were in this hotel. At the thought, a wave of panic washed over Feng Chunling. She might have been fearless when seducing Liu Ergou, but if their affair were to be exposed, she would rather die.

"What do we do, Er Gou?" Feng Chunling asked, her face pale with fear.

Liu Ergou didn't answer immediately, instead sinking into deep thought.

This doesn't make any sense, he thought. Wu Dahu had come looking for his sister-in-law once, and Liu Ergou had taught him a lesson for it. Then he'd brought men to cause more trouble, but his backup turned out to be Li Dafa, so Wu Dahu ended up getting beaten again. After that, Wu Dahu had vanished as if he'd never existed in the village.

Yet here he was again today, for some unknown reason. Judging by the racket, he was dead set on causing trouble. Nothing Liu Ergou could say would make a difference.

The relentless pounding on the door scared Feng Chunling witless, but Liu Ergou remained expressionless, as if nothing was happening.

He looked at the frantic Feng Chunling and said, "Auntie, don't be afraid. I have a plan!"

With that, Liu Ergou grabbed his clothes from the floor and quickly threw them on. He then went over to the hotel window and examined it carefully, letting out a long sigh of relief. The window wasn't far from the neighboring one. With a little effort, he could reach it.

After confirming his plan was feasible, Liu Ergou turned back to Feng Chunling. "Auntie, don't panic, just listen to me! I'm going to climb out the window to the room next door. Once I'm over there, get dressed, open the door, and leave the rest to me!"

"Okay, I understand!" she nodded, picking up her clothes and starting to dress.

Wasting no more words, Liu Ergou jumped onto the windowsill. He stretched out his hand, grabbed the window of the adjacent room, and, relying on his formidable arm strength, muscled his way inside.

Once in the neighboring room, Liu Ergou breathed another sigh of relief. Thankfully, the window had been left open for ventilation. Otherwise, he would have been completely out of options.

Just as he was about to head for the door, he noticed something. Several pieces of women's clothing were strewn across the bed, from an overcoat to underwear. Without a doubt, the room was occupied, and by a woman.

Just then, he heard the sound of footsteps coming from the bathroom.

His heart sank. This is going to be trouble. If that woman comes out, I'm a dead man for sure.

But he couldn't worry about that now. He heard the door to his room being pulled open, and Wu Dahu's shouting immediately ceased, replaced by a smug, triumphant tone.

"Auntie Feng, you don't want everyone in the village to find out about you and Liu Ergou getting a room together, do you? If you don't want anyone to know, you'd better have a little chat with me. Agree to my terms, and I'll forget this ever happened. Doesn't that sound reasonable?"

As soon as he finished speaking, Feng Chunling's angry retort came through.

"Wu Dahu, are you insane? I was taking a bath by myself! Who is Liu Ergou? Have you been drinking? Are you here just to cause trouble?"

Feng Chunling's denial only made Wu Dahu's voice more excited.

"Auntie Feng, don't be shy. I get it, it must be tough for you being alone all year. Anyone would feel for you! But I just don't get what's so great about that kid Liu Ergou. If you need a man, you could come to me! I might not have much else, but just look at my build! I'm strong! I promise I'll take real good care of you. How about it? Want to give me a try?"

Hearing Wu Dahu's lecherous proposal, Feng Chunling could no longer hold back and erupted in a stream of curses.

"What's going on? Liu Ergou, how did you get into the next room?"

At that moment, Wu Dahu was utterly baffled. He had clearly seen Liu Ergou and Feng Chunling enter the hotel together, looking very intimate, just moments before.
