Under the guidance of the female secretary, Liu Ergou quickly arrived at the room where Lu Shuangyue's aunt was staying.

"Mr. Liu has arrived. Our CEO is waiting for you inside," the secretary said.

Liu Ergou nodded without a word, turned the handle, and stepped inside. Before the door closed, he couldn't resist turning his head for one last look at the secretary.

Looking at the secretary, Liu Ergou suddenly recalled an old saying. When there's work, the secretary does it. When there isn't... COUGH, COUGH... Once inside, Liu Ergou saw Lu Shuangyue's aunt sitting at a desk, her eyes fixed on a computer screen, completely absorbed in her work. Before he could speak, she snapped, "Just put those things aside and get me a cup of coffee. That's all."

With that, she fell silent.

Liu Ergou realized she had mistaken him for her secretary. Shaking his head at the misunderstanding, he sat down on a nearby sofa.

When Lu Shuangyue's aunt heard no response from her "secretary" after a long moment, her brow furrowed, and she looked like she was about to erupt again.

Liu Ergou quickly cut in before she could. "Ahem, excuse me. I'm not your secretary. She's waiting outside the door."

Hearing a man's voice, the aunt, who had been on the verge of exploding, froze for several seconds before finally looking up at Liu Ergou.

As her eyes met his, Liu Ergou raised a hand in greeting. "Hey!"

To his utter astonishment, the moment the word left his lips, Lu Shuangyue's aunt snatched a brand-new crystal ashtray from her desk and hurled it at him with all her might.

CRASH!

The ashtray shattered on the floor right at his feet. The sudden attack sent a jolt of fear through Liu Ergou, and he leaped up from the sofa.

"Hey, what are you doing!" he yelled in alarm. "We don't have any grudge against each other, do we? Why would you throw an ashtray at me! Do you have any idea how much that would have hurt if it had hit me, even if it missed my head?"

Hearing this, Lu Shuangyue's aunt let out a cold scoff. "Hah, you animal! You're worse than a pig or a dog!" she spat. "Killing you with that ashtray would have been a service to the public!"

What in the world? How did I suddenly become an animal, worse than a pig or a dog? Can someone please tell me what's going on?

While Liu Ergou was reeling in confusion, Lu Shuangyue's aunt, who had been behind the desk, had somehow closed the distance between them. Seizing the opportunity while he was dazed, she grabbed his arm and executed a surprisingly elegant shoulder throw.

THUD!

Liu Ergou hit the floor hard, sprawled on his back and grimacing in pain.

The next second, she was on top of him, straddling his chest and grabbing his collar.

"You beast, just you wait!" she said, her voice dripping with ice. "I'm calling the police to have you arrested! My niece was completely blind to you. I never imagined you were this kind of person! Lu Shuangyue's aunt let out another cold laugh. "Heh, you're a tough one, still refusing to admit what you did the day before yesterday! Fine! It seems you're the type who won't confess until you're staring at your own coffin! In that case, I'll tell you exactly what happened!"
