Doctor and His Glamorous Sister-in-Law

Hearing Fu Yan's sigh, Liu Ergou hurried forward to support him. "Uncle Fu, listen to yourself. We've been through so many tests today, from head to toe, from our teeth to our skin. Not a single one was missed. With all these check-ups, even I'm breaking out in a cold sweat."

Hearing this, Fu Yan laughed and shook his head. He said nothing more, simply turning and leaving the hospital with Liu Ergou.

Afterward, the two returned to the Fu residence. For some reason, neither Fu Ya nor Zhang Yuehong were home. Fu Yan also had to leave first for matters at work, leaving Liu Ergou all alone in the house.

Liu Ergou sat by himself on the sofa, staring boredly at the ceiling. It was the first time he had so much free time, and for a moment, he had no idea what to do, so he just sat there in a daze.

「Time passed quickly, and soon it was evening.」

Sitting on the sofa, Liu Ergou felt drowsy. Just as he was about to fall asleep, his phone suddenly rang. He pulled it out and saw the call was from Qian Xiaoling, so he answered.

"Hey, Xiaoling, are you off work?"

Qian Xiaoling sighed on the other end of the line. "Ah, I was about to be, but I got called in for last-minute overtime! I'll need to work for another hour or so. Why don't you go to the place we agreed on and wait for me? I'll be there in about an hour!"

Hearing this, Liu Ergou didn't refuse. He got himself ready and headed toward their designated meeting spot. He soon arrived at the restaurant they had chosen and, after being shown to a private room, began to wait.

The wait stretched on. Before he knew it, two hours had passed, gradually wearing down his patience. He checked the time on his phone.

What's going on with Qian Xiaoling? She said a little over an hour. Why has it been two hours now?

He figured she must still be working overtime, so he decided to wait a little longer.

Another half an hour passed. This time, Liu Ergou felt that something was wrong.

If she were still working, she would have called to let me know instead of leaving me to wait here like a fool. It seems more likely that she's had some kind of accident.

At this thought, Liu Ergou dared not delay any longer. He left the restaurant and rushed straight to the hospital where Qian Xiaoling worked, arriving shortly after.

Once at the hospital, he navigated to Qian Xiaoling's lounge with familiar ease. The room was pitch-black, seemingly empty. To an ordinary person, it would have seemed deserted. Liu Ergou, however, could clearly hear a faint breath and the sound of someone panting heavily from within.

His first instinct was to burst in, but he reconsidered. Instead, he cautiously pushed the door open just enough to create a crack and peered inside.

He saw Qian Xiaoling lying on the sofa in an extremely alluring pose, her cheeks flushed. Next to her was a bald, older man, and it was he who was panting so heavily. The bald man was rubbing his hands together, his eyes gleaming as he stared at the reclining Qian Xiaoling, looking utterly impatient.

Seeing this, Liu Ergou couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. So that's why she didn't show up. She already had a date tonight. In that case, I shouldn't disturb them.

With that thought, he turned to leave, but just as he did, he realized something wasn't quite right. He peered through the crack in the door again. Lying on the couch, Qian Xiaoling was completely unconscious, like a corpse.

It hit him in a flash. This isn't a date… someone drugged her! As for who did it… who else could it be but that bald old man?

His expression darkened. I can't believe something like this could happen in a hospital. I have to teach that bald bastard a lesson today!

With this in mind, Liu Ergou scanned the floor and happened to spot a small pebble. It wasn't big, but it would do.

He picked up the pebble, nudged the door open a little wider, and flicked it at the bald man's head.

WHOOSH.

The small stone flew true, striking the man squarely on the back of his head. His eyes rolled back, and he collapsed unconscious onto the floor.

Witnessing this, Liu Ergou quickly entered the room and went to Qian Xiaoling's side. Looking at the unconscious woman, he reached out and patted her cheeks firmly, but she showed no signs of waking up.

This was no challenge for Liu Ergou, however. After a moment's thought, he produced a silver needle and inserted it into one of Qian Xiaoling's acupoints.

The very next second, the still-unconscious Qian Xiaoling gasped sharply and sat up. Now awake, she looked around, dazed and confused.

Liu Ergou spoke with concern, "Qian Xiaoling, what happened to you? Why did you pass out? Was it…"

Before he could finish, Qian Xiaoling raised her hand and swung it at his face. Quick on his feet, he dodged the blow. Seeing her strike miss, she began to curse furiously.

"You beast! You shameless monster!"

With that, she covered her face and burst into tears.

Faced with this sudden turn of events, Liu Ergou was baffled and didn't know what to do. Soon enough, however, he realized what was happening. She thinks I'm the one who drugged her!

His face darkened with exasperation. Looking at the still-crying Qian Xiaoling, he said impatiently, "What are you crying for? Stop it!

"You're acting as if I'm the one who drugged you.

"I came to save you, understand?"

However, his words only made Qian Xiaoling cry even louder. This left Liu Ergou increasingly frustrated.

This woman seemed so smart at first. How could her brain just switch off at a critical moment? It didn't just drop a little—it's completely gone! What a headache!
