Chapter 437: Chapter 437: Chaos Demon
"What an ugly demon!" Muria exclaimed sincerely as he looked past the roof to the descending apparition of a demon lord. Dimogogon, a demon so hideous that even its creator disdained it. Truly, to be considered ugly even by demonic standards indicated just how repulsive this Abyssal Lord's appearance was.
"What demon has descended now?"
"King Muria, save me."
"Your Majesty, quickly open the portal to the demi-plane."
...
"What's the panic?" Muria rebuked as he watched the ministers and nobles lose their composure due to the impending arrival of Dimogogon, showing their ugliest sides. "This isn't the first time we've been invaded by demons. Show some dignity befitting the ruling class of the kingdom."
Hearing Muria's slightly angry voice, and because Muria released his dragon's presence to block the fear aura emanating from the demon lord, the nobles gradually calmed down.
Once their emotions stabilized, these recently terrified individuals promptly began to tidy up their appearances, for the vast disparity in life tiers was something human willpower could not withstand.
Some of these human dignitaries had been scared speechless, and as for those who were so frightened they might lose control of their bladders, well, one would hope that none standing here were that feeble, hopefully!
"This demon, daring to descend upon the capital, is certainly doomed!" A noble, who had just shed tears from the demon lord's fearful aura and felt a slight pain in his bladder, cursed vehemently.
"An ignorant demon. Another bronze pillar will soon be added next to the Demon Hunter Monument," a minister remarked coldly, wiping the snot from his mustache...
Since the onset of the demonic tides, demons had attacked the capital before. Their arrivals were unpredictable; the sentient beings of Nokia Europe never knew when a demon might appear beside them, and the demons entering the material world did not know where they might land.
Without a doubt, demons that landed in the Rockman Kingdom were the most unfortunate. If they could not leave the boundaries of Rockman within a limited time, they faced certain death at the hands of the Demon Hunting Squad.
And the most unfortunate were those that descended upon the capital. Once they appeared in Scarlet, their survival could be measured in breaths, regardless of their strength, they all met the same fate.
Of course, after being slain by a Titan or ancient dragon, legendary demons enjoyed a different treatment—their remains were processed and then hung on bronze pillars as a silent deterrence.
"Humans really don't pick out many useful ones." Muria shook his head slightly as he looked down at the group of nobles.
"Your Majesty, your body?" Suddenly, a noble looked towards Muria, who had become somewhat translucent, and cried out in panic.
"King Muria, what's happening to you?"
The young king's changing body astonished the human dignitaries in the council hall. They were no fools; amidst this unprecedented calamity on Nokia Europe, they needed to cling to Muria for survival.
Without Muria serving as the ruling Duke, who knew what state the Rockman Kingdom would be in now, and what hardships they would be enduring.
"I'm not panicking, so why are you?" Muria raised his now semi-transparent hand, looking somewhat amused at the nervous and concerned faces of the human dignitaries below.
"Your Majesty, what exactly is this?"
"Just a minor glitch, no big deal." Muria smiled, his face calm, but his body became even more ethereal, a sword seemed to appear within him, quickly followed by a dazzling brilliance that obscured its exact appearance.
The true body was observing the manifestation of laws, receiving so much mysterious information from those lights of law every moment that he couldn't spare any energy to maintain his avatar's existence.
Muria had created a total of eight avatars. Now, except for the one in the council hall that was still trying its best to maintain itself, all others had collapsed back into their weapon forms.
"All of you, enter the demi-plane! Don't get in the way here." Muria used the demi-plane control rights left to him by Belaradian to open the small demi-plane he first descended into, herding all the dignitaries into it before stepping out of the council hall to look up at the sky.
"Dimogogon!" Muria muttered softly, looking up at the massive demon lord's apparition filling the sky, his face unconsciously showing disgust. "How could this thing dare claim to be the strongest demon of the Abyss? If it claimed to be the ugliest, surely no lord would dispute that."
Seeing Dimogogon, Muria suddenly thought of this demon lord's lover, the famous succubus queen of the Abyss, Mecanushet.
This renowned succubus queen had rejected the advances of the dark prince Graz'zt, hurting
his proud ego. In revenge, Graz'zt transformed into Mecanushet's likeness to seduce the ugliest tanar'ri lord, Kostchtchie.
This seduction nearly drove the succubus queen mad with hatred for the dark prince, as many demons in the Abyss believed the Mecanushet who lay with Kostchtchie was not an impostor.
"Demons are truly bizarre creatures," Muria remarked as he watched the giant apparition of Dimogogon in the sky become more solid, genuinely amazed.
He couldn't understand why the succubus queen could accept someone like Dimogogon. His power wasn't much less than that of the dark prince; forming an alliance with him would seem the best choice for Mecanushet.
Yet she had refused, and what was most bizarre was the method the dark prince chose for revenge. Could normal beings conceive such a suffocating way of retaliation?
Indeed, the logic of normal beings could not comprehend these chaotic fools' thoughts, and even the seemingly rational, devil-like succubus queen occasionally had her irrational moments.
"Little Muria, is this your first time seeing a legendary demon lord?" A golden dragoness, with a black-skinned, white-haired flying skull circling around her, appeared silently beside Muria.
"Is this a true descent or an avatar?"
"Of course, it's an avatar. Those lords of the Abyss wouldn't dare to truly enter the world of Erathia."
"Why not?"
"Because if their true bodies entered the world of Erathia, they would certainly die!"
