Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4131: Returning After Great Success

Illumina and the others finally reached the Fifth Void Dust Sanctuary. They did so covertly to the best of their ability. It was unknown if they were followed, but if they were followed, they were ready to destroy the Fifth Void Dust Sanctuary.

"Welcome back!"

Stella greeted them at the entrance and brought them in.

She led them to a place where there was a long line of people made to stand in rows and columns with at least five meters of space between them. They were none other than the people who were rescued.

There was a black-robed woman walking among them. She was like a drill master, watching the behavior of the soldiers. She seemed to make her final stride as she was going to walk out of the line.

However, she suddenly stopped.

There was a man and a woman on opposite sides. She walked to the woman and inclined her head.

"Are you a traitor?"

"…!"

The woman shuddered greatly before she went on her knees and smashed her head on the ground.

"Please forgive me! I promise I won't do it again!"

Mingzhi's expression didn't change, "Was it for wealth?"

"…" The woman kept banging her head and didn't reply.

Mingzhi waited for two more seconds before she glanced at Stella, and Stella snapped her finger. That woman then reappeared somewhere else. She was now with twelve other people who seemed to have been suppressed by space. There were both men and women here.

Their expressions weren't good, and they seemed to have cried a lot. However, they were all suppressed to the point where they couldn't even talk.

Mingzhi finally walked out of the sea of people, but looking at Fenren and the others, she giggled.

"Ah, more people to check. But since you're all safe, I imagine that the mission is successfully complete?"

"Yeah."

Fenren smirked proudly, but as he saw the thirteen people look as though they were about to be executed for becoming a traitor, he sighed.

"Do we have to kill them?"

"That's your wish."

Mingzhi raised her hand and fiddled with her fingers elegantly, "They have their own reasons to betray, some because one of their family members was held hostage, or some because they were selfish, or some because they simply believed that you were wrong for believing the Divine Emperor of Death. There are a lot of reasons, but betrayal is betrayal. I can't be bothered to punish them, so the three of you can take that role for your clans."

Fenren nodded to Mingzhi, but he couldn't help but take a look at Soaren and Andiron.

After all, these thirteen people were theirs. He still hadn't released his own people from his life ring. He handed his life ring over to Mingzhi and patted their shoulders.

"Don't worry. We have done a good job during the mission, and we have ample time to investigate their betrayal."

"It's not a problem," Soaren uttered with a wry smile.

Andiron also nodded in agreement.

Fortunately, none of their close family members betrayed them, so they weren't shaken.

Mingzhi greeted Lereza and the others, making sure everything was right before she continued with eliminating traitors using her Heart Intent.

She first announced her intent to them and made them stand in order after summoning them outside. Then, she walked from the first row, first column, investigating the emotions of the people with her Heart Intent.

Emotions were a mysterious thing. Even if one could hide emotions from displaying through their face and their body, their soul would still release those waves. It was nearly impossible to hide their emotion unless they already had experience in dealing with Heart Intent.

However, Mingzhi possessed Level Two Obscure Intent of Enigmatic Heart Laws, just like Davis. How could they even hide from her senses? Continue reading stories on empire

The moment she announced she was going to find traitors, the ones who had done wrong were alarmed greatly. They couldn't stop themselves from panicking, and it easily gave them away to her.

Her range was ten thousand meters, meaning she already knew the moment she announced to them.

However, she was thorough with her search because her main mission wasn't to find traitors.

Nonetheless, as she walked through them, she also talked with a few of them to gain more knowledge about them.

She talked with Fenren's first wife, Feilin Jadelight.

Apparently, Fenren had sixty-eight wives. As the Patriarch of the Starlight Jade Wolf Clan in the First Haven World, he sired over two hundred and twelve children, of which thirty-nine were dead, due to various challenges that cultivators faced during their growth.

She knew three of Fenren's children since they had accompanied them during the events of the Astral Forgeheart Minor Realm. They were Harlen Jadelight, Silvia Jadelight, and Nuren Jadelight. They were here, standing on the lines and greeting her.

She also waved their hand to them, appearing heartened to see them.

Regardless, she was inwardly flabbergasted by the sheer size of Fenren's family. Funnily enough, it wasn't the biggest in the Jadelight Clan. That achievement belonged to a Grand Elder, the difference almost two times.

"So that means Renfa Jadelight is the sixty-ninth wife, right?"

"Yes," Feilin Jadelight politely answered, "She is the newcomer to our family, but she was suddenly nowhere to be found. The next thing we know, we heard that she appeared near the execution platform in the Obsidian Crystal Minor Realm. I hope the child she carries is safe."

"Yeah, the child is safe. She just gave birth too. You should go fawn on her later." Mingzhi smiled.

She barely held back from laughing out loud at that number.

Mingzhi continued, checking them all individually. She found three more traitors from her investigation, but there were still two left to go until the end.

Naturally, before this walk, she had also talked to Soaren's third wife, El-na Goldsun, and Andiron's first wife, Komui Spacewark.

From them, she knew that Soaren had thirty wives and thirty-eight children. Similarly, Andiron also possessed thirty-two wives and sired as many as three hundred whooping children, which honestly made her almost trip and fall.

However, it seemed that around a hundred of his children had died in their cultivation journey. Although not similar, two of the thirty-eight children Soaren had sired also seemed to have died in their cultivation journey. Soaren had also lost his first wife. She had known about it since that made him a madman during wars and made everyone stay away from provoking him.

Still, she felt extremely intrigued and even formed a layer of sympathy.

They had already experienced losses but were still going strong. She was scared that they might also one day be able to move past the death of their children. It was a terrifying thought that made her think deeply.

'It's freaking weird…'

But at the same time, she couldn't help but feel this strange emotion of wanting Davis to surpass them in these numbers, have more women and more children, and paint everything in his image, but at the same time, she didn't want to share him any more than she needed to. It was really strange. Even as a Heart Intent user, she couldn't tell why she was thinking like this.

She low-key wanted Davis to be the most powerful man and have everything within his grasp, but at the same time, she didn't want him to have all those things and only have them, have her.

'The duality of extreme thoughts is always difficult to explore…'

Mingzhi thought and finally made it to the end of the line. She turned around and looked at the crowd with narrowed eyes.
