As a member of the working class in this city, Wang Cong is immersed in busy work all day long. Even the occasional free time is spent in games.

That day, a strange call came to his mobile phone.

"Hello?"

"Wang Cong! You obviously know that Chen Mo is real, he just disappeared suddenly, I am not crazy, why don't you tell them about Chen Mo! Why!"

Hearing the angry voice on the other end of the phone, Wang Cong's face was very ugly.

"I..."

With a trace of guilt and apology in his eyes, Wang Cong hesitated and didn't know what to do.

"Chen Mo is real! I'm not crazy! You bastard!"

Without waiting for Wang Cong to respond, the other party hung up the phone.

Because of this call, Wang Cong's mental state was in a trance for the whole day.

At night.

Wang Cong returned to the apartment alone, and his room was particularly quiet.

He took off his coat, turned on the desk lamp, and sat quietly at the desk, supporting his chin with both hands. As his eyes became more and more guilty, his expression gradually became painful.

"It's been ten years, because I don't want to be like you, a madman in everyone's eyes, always telling others about Chen Mo who doesn't exist in their eyes. I just want to live a normal life."

The beginning of the incident happened in a full-time art vocational school in a provincial capital city around the capital.

The time was March 12, 2011, 56 days before the college entrance examination, and that day was Chen Mo's birthday.

The reason why Wang Cong remembered it so clearly was that on March 11 of that year, a magnitude 9 earthquake occurred in the waters around a certain island country, triggering a tsunami, and the classmates in the class celebrated enthusiastically because of patriotic feelings.

Since the school is full-time closed management, the college entrance examination is about to take place, and everyone is under great pressure. I remember that Chen Mo also said that day that tomorrow is his birthday, and he also wants to celebrate it well.

After that, there was a nuclear radiation leak and the salt grabbing incident.

As Wang Cong recalled, his thoughts became more and more distant, as if he had returned to the winter of that year, the day when Chen Mo disappeared.

At that time, I was very introverted and didn't have many friends in school. I usually interacted with only two classmates.

One was my deskmate Wu Huiteng, and the other was Chen Mo, who lived with his grandmother in the neighbor's house.

Chen Mo lived with his grandmother because his parents divorced and remarried, and became my neighbor. We were in the same class since junior high school, and later we were promoted to high school together and were still assigned to the same class. Needless to say, our relationship was natural.

In order to celebrate Chen Mo's birthday, I made a special call and asked my cousin to order a cake from outside.

There is a low wall in the backyard of the school. Outside is a dirt road under the railway. Behind it is a breeding farm. It is relatively remote, so people often climb over the wall here, and teachers often come here for duty inspections, which made me terrified for a long time when I received the cake.

Chen Mo also doesn't have many friends, but he is not a loner. It's just that due to family reasons, he is unwilling to take the initiative to communicate. However, because he is very handsome, has fair skin, and is very good at studying, he scored 148 points in mathematics in the final exam of the second year of high school, ranking first in the grade and eighth in the school in total score, so I know that many female classmates like him.

At noon that day, the three of us met at the abandoned dormitory building behind the school to celebrate Chen Mo's birthday privately.

This dormitory building was not abandoned before, but rented to another railway vocational school. However, due to poor school discipline, it was not renewed and became vacant.

The brick building looks very shabby, the red bricks are beginning to darken and emit a musty smell, but it has become the favorite place for some couples in the school.

In the evening, there will be people playing badminton here, usually classmates in the first year of high school.

Wu Huiteng and I both took gifts.

Needless to say, my cake was a pair of Yonex badminton rackets from Wu Huiteng, which cost about a few hundred yuan, which was a huge sum of money for us at that time.

Chen Mo also gave us gifts in return.

Wu Huiteng was given a complete set of Slam Dunk comic books, and I was given a Winnie the Pooh keychain, which was bought from abroad before his parents divorced.

After eating the cake, there was still some time before class, and Wu Huiteng suggested playing badminton, saying that he wanted to feel his Yonex racket again. Six balls per person, losing.

Although the weather in the north in March is very cold, the sun is a bit dazzling, and there is wind, which is not suitable for playing badminton. So when we were playing, we unconsciously began to approach the abandoned dormitory building to avoid the wind, until Wu Huiteng used too much force and hit the badminton into the second-floor window of the abandoned dormitory building.

All the windows of this building were closed with broken wooden boards, and many of the glass behind the wooden boards had been broken. The badminton fell in through the gap of the broken wooden boards.

Because there was only one ball, Wu Huiteng suggested going in to pick up the ball.

Some people said that before the school was built, this was a cemetery and some strange things happened. I was a little scared, but Chen Mo said it was his gift, so I climbed in through the window with Wu Huiteng.

I was responsible for keeping watch outside to prevent teachers on duty from coming.

I remember clearly that at least twenty minutes had passed and the two of them had not made any movement inside. I looked around and couldn't help but crawl in.

The corridor was very dark, with only a little light coming through the window sealed with broken wooden boards. There was dust everywhere and a rotten and musty smell.

I plucked up the courage, lowered my voice, and called out to Wu Huiteng and Chen Mo several times because I was afraid of being heard by people passing by outside, but I got no response.

Since the badminton fell to the second floor, I tried to walk up the stairs to have a look. The sound of the wind blowing in through the cracks in the window was like the cry of many people. It was only less than a hundred meters away, and I was almost gone. For two or three minutes, they called several times but received no response.

"ah!!"

Screams suddenly came from the gloomy corridor.

I got goosebumps, and almost without thinking, I turned around and ran towards the window I came from, rolled and climbed out of the window, and then I gasped in shock and saw Wu Huiteng also climbed out of the window.

"Where's Chen Mo?"

I asked Wu Huiteng.

At that time, I thought it was two people working together to scare me.

"I don't know!"

Wu Huiteng gasped: "He said he gave you the keychain. He seemed to have dropped his key where he had just picked up the ball, so he went back to look for it. I was waiting for him, but the ghostly scream scared me. I heard someone I ran with him, thinking it was Chen Mo."

Only then did I realize that he mistook me for Chen Mo.

"What took you so long to get in?"

"Shouldn't we go in for less than a minute?"

Wu Huiteng's words made me a little confused. I had obviously been waiting here for at least twenty minutes.

The two of us panted and waited outside for a long time, but we didn't see Chen Mo come out. We stuck our heads in the corridor several times and called Chen Mo's name, but we didn't get a response.

It wasn't until the school bell rang that Wu Huiteng noticed that the "Slam Dunk" comic book given to him by Chen Mo was gone. He had clearly placed it on the cement floor before.

Without caring too much, we hurriedly ran towards the classroom.

When we ran to the classroom, the math teacher had been there for a while and was giving a lecture. He looked at us who were panting and let us in without saying anything.

We were sitting at the same table, sitting in the opposite row, so we would naturally pass by Chen Mo's seat, but found that his seat was occupied by Rong Yeye, the math class representative.

After the two of us sat down, we searched the class for a while, but we didn't see Chen Mo.

"Have you seen Chen Mo?"

I quietly patted Zhu Yidan's shoulder at the front desk and asked in a low voice.

"Who is Chen Mo?"

Zhu Yidan's rhetorical question made me stunned for a moment.

She has had a crush on Chen Mo since her freshman year of high school.

Wu Huiteng seemed a little impatient and repeated: "Chen Mo!"

The math teacher threw a piece of chalk and asked Wu Huiteng to stand up and listen to the lesson. We could only suppress our doubts and wait until the end of get out of class.

As soon as get out of class ended, Wu Huiteng began to ask about Chen Mo one after another in the class, but everyone looked confused without exception. Who is Chen Mo?

Even Chen Mo's former deskmates looked confused. It seemed that no one remembered Chen Mo, or that this person had never appeared.

Wu Huiteng once thought that the whole class had banded together to deceive him.

Then he started asking classmates in other classes and even the teacher, but he got the same result. Chen Mo seemed to have disappeared out of thin air. Everyone had forgotten his existence, including the report card on the wall, and Chen Mo was gone. name.

This feeling was like there was some kind of force that brought Chen Mo to another dimension. There was some mysterious force in this universe that was repairing the minimal impact caused by Chen Mo's disappearance.

Wu Huiteng later became a little confused and told people that Chen Mo had disappeared.

The class teacher noticed Wu Huiteng's abnormality and called his parents. He said that he was under too much pressure in the college entrance examination and was looking for non-existent classmates all day long. He suggested psychological counseling.

At the beginning, Wu Huiteng told everyone about Chen Mo's past in the QQ class group again and again, including Chen Mo's previous grades, who he had good relations with in the class, and so on. Later, he was kicked out of the class group by the class monitor who was unbearable.

During the college entrance examination, Wu Huiteng came to school once and asked me in public why I didn't tell others about Chen Mo.

I was scared at the time because I didn’t want to be seen as crazy by others, so I never spoke.

"Chen Mo got you wrong! I'm not crazy! I made the wrong friend like you!"

I still remember Wu Huiteng being looked at with strange looks by everyone. He made painful and feeble excuses over and over again, trying to pull me out to testify. However, my silence finally made him look at me with anger.

He hated me for not defending Chen Mo, who disappeared mysteriously. He was not a madman.
