Chapter 90: Seriah is Chosen
Emperor Tyran made his way through Fiona's quaters before he stopped at the door, stretched forth a hand and let himself in.
The eyes of the two occupants of the room fell on him immediately he entered but his only settled on his son who sat on Fiona's bed.
He was bare chested with only purple pants on his small waist.
With the bed curtains pulled away to pave way for the dim evening skylight,Ramses grey eyes glistened grey blue under it's influence.
The child's grey-blue eyes appeared more grey like his father's during the day with it's colour gradually turning blue as the sun set, mid-day was blue grey but under the moonlight,it appeared blue, like sapphire sparkling with a preter natural radiance.
Tyran loved the colour change more than anything,it suited him even more in the evening when it was ocean blue.
He ignored Carolene's greeting as he walked towards Ramses with outstretched arms ready to lift him.
When he was few paces away from the bed his son began crawling in the opposite direction till he reached the other end of the bed.
Ramses stopped and sat to stare into his father's grey eyes as he climbed the bed drawing even more closer to him.
"Are ye by any means attempting to flee your own father?"Tyran muttered as he picked him up, lifting him above his face.
Ramses kicked severally in attempt to free himself but Tyran's grip prevented him.
He paused and looked into his father's eyes, his tiny brows furrowed.
"Put me down...you reek of alcohol!"he snapped in a tiny voice.
Tyran gasped, dropping him on impulse letting him land on his feet.
While a startled emperor stared on Ramses walked towards Carolene who immediately jumped to her feet as he neared her, backing away to stand behind Tyran.
Her feeble hands trembled as they watched him glare at them, his eyes mocking their reaction.
"And now you are frightened of me because I speak?"he strained his neck with a wide grin on his face peering at Carolene "No... I have always frightened you".
"You!....what on earth_"
"Am I?"Ramses cut in"Your son what else".
"How...how long have you known to speak?"Tyran questioned still awestruck, his eyes refusing to blink.
"Months now".
"But you are just two".
"Almost three?"Ramses corrected walking towards him.
"Still this isn't normal...and you speak so perfectly you_"
Ramses shook his head.
"Was I ever normal, isn't that why you locked me up here all my life?...since I was born I could hear you"
"And you!"he pointed at Carolene.
She jerked as he did causing him to let out a tiny low tone laugh.
"I could hear all of you"he waved a tiny hand in the air before walking in the opposite direction to sit on the marble floor.
He fundled with his grey hair for a while, momentarily stopping at intervals to cast a glance their way.
They still hadn't moved from the same spot.
"When will you both stop staring it's getting uncomfortable".
Ramses folded his hands as his gaze fell on his father.
Tyran turned behind him to look at Carolene before walking towards Ramses.
He squated and stared into his son's huge eyes.
"Stay a bit further father...further back there was better...this smell.."Ramses waved him off.
"Soon You will resume schooling with other kids your age"
"I don't need school...not when I can speak and read".
"There's more than that to learn at school"Tyran said litting a flame in his hand.
Ramses grinned and let out a hand to lit his but nothing happened.
His eyes travelled from his father's flame to his hand, still nothing happened.
"Gimme that!"he grunted sticking his hand into it only to be burnt by the flame.
Ramses cried out in pain retracting his hand.
Tyran quenched his and made an attempt to take his hand but the child retracted it before raising his hand for his father to see.
"See no need...it's healing"he said through pouted lips."I can do something like that too...it would only work if it wants to_"
"No it should work when you want it to, that's why you need school"Tyran cut in.
"The world will soon know of your existence and when you are brought before the crowd..."the Emperor's gaze hardened."Act like a normal child and don't try anything funny...don't...even think of talking".
"What is this ultimate plan father that can hide the way I smell...I know I smell different from you"
"You'll see"..Tyran said as he got to his feet.
His gaze travelled to Carolene who stood frozen by the door watching them.
Ramses's eyes followed his gaze to settle on Carolene then a smile formed on his lips.
"Don't worry...I won't bite".he jested then his eyes rested on his father now approaching the door.
"Father...what am I?"
Tyran stopped walking
"I have no idea"he muttered.
***********************
Tyran's eyes scanned the beauties before him in the imperial garden as he sat under an almond tree.
The moonlight bright enough with a perculiar glow amplified their beauty in its reflugent radiance.
They all stepped forward in turns, bowing before introducing themselves.
At the moment Tyran found himself desiring and the company of all ten of them in his bed but a particular maiden caught his eyes the most.
Her huge brown eyes and light brown curly hair reminded him of his late wife, she was infact an exact copy.
She stepped forward and bowed gracefully before locking eyes with him and looked away immediately, lowering her head.
Her shyness and innocence only increased his desire to have her.
The emperor found himself staring, unable to take his eyes off her or even catch his breath, through her oval face Tyran envisioned Fiona.
How he missed her, maybe this was what had been missing all these while in his life,a company especially one almost in the likeness of his late wife.
Perhaps this would cease the nightmares and reduce his longing for the dead which he could never embrace once more.
She wasn't her replacement as Fiona was irreplaceable but only a tool to fill in a part of him he lost when she died.
He would have her tonight and pay Sheba a visit tomorrow.
As much as he hated admitting it,Ren was right,he had to find to protect his son in a way he knew Sheba would know something about.
Deep down he knew the sorceress would not help him for she topped the list of people who wanted him dead but still he had to try.
Masking his son's scent and aura was the only way he could camouflage as a demon even when he was not one,he also had to find out what kind of creature he had birthed and even if Sheba turned down his plea for her assistance he would try other means or keep trying till she accepted.
Tyran found himself standing on his feet, approaching her.
He placed a soft hand below her chin and raised her face to his eye level.
"What is your name young flower".
"Sheriiii...you...your majesty"Seriah stammered looking away immediately.
"Fret not flower...I might be the kindest person you will ever know".Tyran turned to the guards standing not too far from the garden gates"Get max here this instant!"
"Your Imperial majesty, here I am"king Maxmillian said as he appeared.
Seriah locked turned to lock eyes with him and immediately averted her eyes, shutting them before resting them on the emperor.
Her eyes held no trace of suprise, she was indeed the perfect actress.
The king wore a dark blue clothing with a fancy gold embroidered dark blue head band to match, nothing auspicious to give him away except for his expensive clothing and the face that the Emperor had summoned him.
"Only her will do tonight...if you wish, you may keep the rest at the imperial palace but they are of no use to me".
King Maxmillian bowed with a smile on his face as the emperor averted his gaze.
"Have her prepare and come to my bed chamber at once!".Tyran said clasping his hand behind his back before vanishing.
The king approached Seriah, eying her with keen interest, every bit of him assuring him that she might as well pull this off.
He encircled her studying her from her head to feet.
She had changed her hair colour but had picked the worst outfit for the moment,a long red skirt with a short top only exposing her abdomen, her huge breasts were fully covered.
If the emperor hadn't fancied her he would have blamed it on her awkward outfit.
King max turned to the nine other maidens and waved them off.
"You all...get out of my sight".
When they didn't move an inch his furrowed brows fell on the guards at the door.
"Didn't you hear me?...Get them out of my sight this instant!"he barked.
"Hey...did you loose your ears?..his Majesty wants you all you out this instant "one of the guards called out.
"His Majesty!"Seriah rephrased in a low tone as she locked eyes with King Maxmillian who froze at the spot.
He stalked towards the guard and landed him a resounding slap.
The guard stumbled off his feet, falling to the ground while gripping the burning spot that had been hit.
"For... forgive me me...your majes_"
He didn't finish when the King kicked his torso, then his face before resting his leg on his mouth.
"And there you go still talking.... give me one reason why I shouldn't slit your tongue this instant!"
He said pulling out his sword.
The nine maidens immediately fell on their knees with their faces against the ground while Seriah watched.
"It's all our fault your Majesty ... please spare him".they chorused.
King Maxmillian turned their way, eying them for a while before slowly taking off his feet.
"Well..."he said casting one last glance at Seriah."Prepare yourself for his imperial Majesty this instant...he is pardoned".
He walked towards the imperial garden gates, threw them open and stormed off.
