Chapter 314: The Noisy Women
"Moo!"
Blood Silver had returned, dropping two women carried by bright red chains.
"Ugh!"
Virginia was dizzy and face-planted into the ground.
Andrea was in much better shape. During the flight, she had scoped out everyone present.
An absolutely gorgeous guy, a woman in a blue dress—but that delicate face looked way too much like Sequence 0?
The rest were all Whale Scale Hunters, just looking beat to hell like they'd been through a meat grinder.
Were they in the same boat as her and Virginia, captured and dragged here?
After a quick once-over, Andrea quickly figured out that the handsome guy was running the whole show.
Even the terrifying monster that nabbed them treated him with respectful and friendly vibes.
"They are..."
Timira glanced over—they should be rookies from later sequences, somehow rescued by Blood Silver.
"Ugh~"
After puking for a while, Virginia finally had the strength to check out her surroundings.
She immediately yelped in surprise:
"Sister Ursula! Sister Julian!"
Ursula and Julian looked her over and recognized her:
"Virginia, how'd you get captured too?"
Virginia couldn't help bitching:
"You've all been nabbed—isn't it normal for me to get caught too?"
"Makes sense!" x2
Ursula and Julian nodded, totally clueless about being prisoners.
...
...
At the confluence of the Dakan and Zekan rivers, the slowly flowing water had carved out fertile land...
CRASH! CRASH!
One tree after another toppled. Dell's whale tail casually swept, lifting the fallen trees and tossing them aside.
"Hey hey, why the hell are we chopping trees!"
The other women were doing the same thing, clearing trees in all directions, obviously making room for something.
Edrin rolled her eyes at Dell, looking at her like she was staring at a complete moron.
She didn't want to dignify that question with an answer.
Having bounced back from most of her injuries, Dell wasn't stuck with just rocket headbutts anymore.
WHAM!
One small and one large whale tail smashed together, the crazy aftermath shattering rocks...
"Kana, are you just gonna let them go at it like this?"
Melinda ripped up a massive tree, hoisted it with her whale tail, and walked alongside Kana.
But Kana wasn't watching the two goofballs, her gaze constantly fixed on the distance.
There, Timira and another weird guy were sipping something strange, looking totally chill.
"Wuu wuu, senior, sorry!"
Doris carelessly chucked a huge tree onto Virginia's foot.
Virginia didn't give a damn:
"A Sequence 15 newbie?"
Doris instinctively puffed out her chest:
"Yes! Sequence 15, Doris!"
The long-missed feeling of being respected made Virginia immediately get serious:
"Excellent! Doris! There's a forest ahead—let's wipe it out!"
"Yes! Senior!"
Andrea beside them shook her head slightly—really couldn't do anything about her best friend.
Already grown up but still such a kid.
...
On the flip side, Ursula and Julian:
BOOM BOOM!
The two muscle-bound women were having a strength contest.
"Fifty trees, piece of cake!"
"Sixty trees, no sweat!"
"Seventy..."
They frantically stacked massive trees on their shoulders, faces red and veins popping on their heads.
But they glared at each other:
"You can't hold on anymore, right!"
"You're about to crack, right!"
Both women's teeth chattered—neither would be the first to fold...
CRASH! x2
"Julian!"
"Ursula!"
Everyone frantically dug them out of the tree pile...
Watching these scenes made Carlos's eye twitch:
"Are they always like this?"
Timira took a casual sip of the weird-tasting black tea:
"Most Whale Scale Hunters got raised and trained by Whale Fort from when they were kids, with barely any chance to hang out with outsiders. This is their way of blowing off steam."
Carlos nodded, not even bothering to lift his eyelids:
"Timira, light a fire under them. After the ritual ends, they shouldn't be like this."
Timira propped her chin with her hand, eyes slightly narrowed:
"Yes, my dear lord. You seem pretty eager to score a batch of gorgeous female underlings."
Carlos's emerald eyes looked at Timira with total calm.
Timira snorted lightly:
"What a boring guy."
She turned and walked off...
Carlos was mulling over the intel squeezed out of the blue-robed guy.
If the plan to hunt Timira went south, Whale Fort would be forced to activate a backup plan.
They would label her as a Fallen Commander and order Whale Scale Hunters to temporarily steer clear of her, leaving her for later cleanup.
'Smart move.'
But no matter how smart, it was still pointless.
Timira wasn't the important one—Carlos behind her was the guy who'd decide Whale Fort's fate.
...
"You guys! Quit screwing around and get to work!"
Timira's roar rang out.
Amidst all the chaos and racket, an open space was finally cleared...
...
Carlos looked at everyone—quite a crowd. This time he'd use a group sublimation ritual.
The Tidal pathway, which mainly focused on digging up beings' own power, had relatively simple sublimation arrays compared to others, making group sublimation doable.
With this in mind, several silver canisters appeared in front of Carlos, all popping open.
Streams of light blue liquid slowly flowed out, rich ocean scents spreading, making you feel waves rolling forward...
Carlos started drawing...
...
The women watched from the sidelines.
"Such mysterious ability—just like that, those canisters popped up out of nowhere."
"Is this the ritual?"
"Doesn't look like much."
"That liquid smells pretty damn good."
"I bet it tastes amazing too."
"Doris wants to try it too!"
"..."
The constant chatter gave Timira a splitting headache:
"Shut it! You'll have plenty of time to yap after the ritual ends."
"Mama's pissed."
"Timira's so scary."
"Hah, even though I can't beat you, my spirit will never break!"
"..."
Since Timira's emotions were way too obvious, everyone present was a monster with sharp senses.
They had already figured out that Timira seemed to still be Timira.
This way, those worries naturally vanished into thin air.
In other words, only by beating the crap out of them all again could Timira make this bunch pipe down again...
Or like this...
BOOM!
The whale hammer slammed down hard, cracking the earth.
Everyone instinctively gulped and immediately shut up...
...
Time crawled by. On the clearing, a massive Tidal Sublimation Arcane Array slowly took shape.
Sky-blue light flickered, wave-like power constantly rolling, sparkling and magnificent.
