Chapter 301: Saint Marr Island
One day, a huge whirlpool suddenly appeared in the waters ahead, swallowing everything around it—dark and creepy as hell.
"Black whirlpool!"
The Crimson-gold Feathered Serpent Wings spread as Carlos flew up, putting away the Black Knights and ship while he was at it.
Beside him, Blood Silver's back sprouted a pair of Blood Wings as it looked curiously at the black whirlpool below.
Carlos held his breath and focused, his eyes like torches as he kept staring down.
The black whirlpool kept spinning, and suddenly a barely visible flash of white light swept by.
"Now!"
Carlos dove down with Blood Silver right behind him. They plunged into that white light and disappeared...
...
No one knew how massive the mysterious sea area was—no living being had ever reached its end.
Inside, a small number of 'islands' were scattered around.
Calling them islands was actually misleading—they were more like continents, just impossibly far from each other.
...
Saint Marr Island was one such large island where human communities lived and bred in isolation from the world.
In the common understanding of the island's people, the world was just the big island they lived on, with endless ocean beyond that.
...
Saint Marr Island, White Forest.
Suddenly, a tall white oak tree glowed with white light. The light gathered, and two figures slowly appeared.
"Fascinating transportation method."
As the white light faded, Carlos looked around at the scenery.
A gentle breeze made the white oak trees rustle—this peaceful atmosphere was extremely rare in the Material Realm.
"The White Forest still existing means whatever force grabbed the Eternal Cube hasn't figured out its true abilities yet."
"Moo!"
Blood Silver was attracted by the fruit on the white oak trees. It reached out and picked a bunch, bringing them to Carlos.
"Blood Silver, we should get moving."
The Crimson-gold Feathered Serpent Wings spread as Carlos shot up into the sky. Flying high, he could faintly see a small city.
"Let's head there first and gather some intel."
Carlos flew straight there with no intention of hiding his tracks.
This was because inside this isolated island, combat power was low—even the strongest monsters were only high-tier level.
"Moo!"
Blood Silver spread its Blood Wings and followed, clutching the acorns.
...
Saint Marr Island had abundant water systems with tons of lakes and tributaries.
By a riverbank, a strange woman appeared wearing a special shell on her head, draped in blue robes, and dragging a blue tail that looked like a miniature whale tail.
The whale tail was curved, but if it straightened out, it would probably be taller than a person.
The strange woman waded through the river to a protruding rock in the middle, where a blue-robed person had been fishing and waiting for a long time.
This person was completely shrouded in blue robes so you couldn't see their face, but from their build, they looked like a normal human.
"Roz, the next mission."
The strange woman's tone was cold without a trace of emotion.
The blue-robed man Roz was used to this. His voice was hoarse:
"Carlo City."
The strange woman glanced at the blue-robed man and casually asked:
"What about the monster intel for that place?"
Hearing the strange woman's words, blue-robed Roz turned his head and said hoarsely:
"Does knowing or not knowing make any difference to you?"
"No difference."
The strange woman's eyes didn't waver at all.
Blue-robed Roz continued hoarsely:
"No matter how many monsters show up, no matter how complicated the situation gets, just take out all the monsters. No other requirements."
Hearing this, the strange woman's expression moved slightly, as if thinking of something, then she turned and left...
Blue-robed Roz stood up, watching the strange woman's retreating figure as information about this monster surfaced in his mind:
"The monster born from Whale Fort's forty-ninth experiment.
Among all the Whale Scale Hunters, she's ranked Sequence 0—the strongest Whale Scale Hunter.
Even the most vicious monsters can get easily wiped out without her even using her whale scale form.
No person or monster has ever seen her twisted, ugly whale scale form.
What people see is always her composure and calm, so they call her 'the Elegant Hunter.'"
The blue-robed man sat down to continue fishing, a flash of fear in his eyes:
"A monster beyond everything!"
...
Carlo City was a pretty small city without many residents.
This morning, the bustling main street suddenly rang out with terrified voices:
"Mon... monster!"
Four residents who had just been about to leave the city looked fearfully at the strange woman slowly walking toward them, the creepy whale tail dragging behind her filling these ordinary residents with dread.
Timira glanced around, and suddenly the whale tail behind her moved. Faster than ordinary human eyes could track, it slammed down hard on the ground.
Boom!
Along with a weird scream, blood splattered everywhere as a fish-headed, human-bodied monster got smashed to pulp.
Timira's expression didn't change:
"The hunt begins."
"Monster!!!"
"A monster broke in!!!"
Such a brutal scene terrified the residents, who scattered and fled.
Timira seemed used to this and didn't pay attention to the panicking residents, instead walking step by step into the main street.
She had just passed a well when a fish-headed, human-bodied monster suddenly burst out and attacked from behind.
Without even looking, Timira's whale tail whipped around with terrible force, directly crushing the monster to pieces with blood and guts flying everywhere.
But strangely, the whale tail didn't get stained with any blood at all—it remained clean and shining with wave-like halos.
She kept walking forward, and another invisible monster was hiding behind the panicked crowd.
Timira flashed forward, somehow passing right through the crowd as her whale tail struck directly, killing it instantly.
One... two... five...
By now, the small city's residents had weak knees and were silent as mice.
Monster corpses were scattered everywhere, their blood pooling together like a hellish slaughter.
Timira walked through it all, her blue robe unchanged.
Just then, the river running through the small town churned, and three giant monsters jumped out from the riverbed.
They had sharp teeth, blood-red eyes, and nasty barbs protruding from their backs—terrifying and horrific.
Timira stopped and looked the three giant monsters up and down.
"Trying to use those monsters to drain my strength?
Too bad.
You should have chosen to bail immediately. Now..."
Roar!
The three giant monsters interrupted Timira's words, their eyes crazed as they surrounded and attacked her.
Timira sighed softly:
"Really annoying."
Boom!
The whale tail behind her suddenly grew massive, and a fierce giant mouth opened at the tip, directly biting off all three giant monsters' heads.
The giant monsters' headless corpses crashed onto the main street, blood gushing out and adding more gore to the small city's slaughter.
"The monsters... the monsters have been eliminated!"
Some of the residents gradually came to their senses. They recognized Timira's identity and realized what had just happened.
The residents' slow reaction really made Timira want to laugh. She deliberately sighed:
"Oh, how annoying. One monster escaped and probably went back for backup."
