Diary of Guarding Monster Girls

Chapter 120: Launch Speech [There Will Always Be Someone Who Loves You!] (12k Words)_2

I'll try my best not to make the character stories too bland.

Don't take hatred to write something, don't use lust to write love, and I won't create any disgusting scenes, absolutely not!

Perhaps my abilities are lacking, but at least my attitude will be very proper.

Anyway, if there's a mistake, I'll definitely fix it. Thank you all for helping me correct them; I've made changes wherever you made sense. Thank you!!!

Next up, the main focus is the rules on additional chapters when going on sale:

1. [First subscription extra]

The first subscription is very important for this book; it greatly affects the editor's estimation and subsequent recommendation. It's really very important!

So, for every 100 first subscriptions, there will be 1 extra chapter added.

500 first subscriptions add 5 chapters, 1000 first subscriptions add 10 chapters, 2000 add 20 chapters, and so on...

It sounds exaggerated, but actually, the first subscriptions won't be a lot; if I end up owing around ten or so chapters, I'd be very grateful, and I can definitely handle that.

Of course, the more, the better.

If there's so much that I can't keep up with and have to slowly catch up, that would definitely be the best.

But this depends on your prowess.

If you've got the skill, just exhaust me!

...

2. [Reward extra]

For going on sale, let's raise the previous level a bit; the Alliance Leader reward will temporarily change from adding 3 chapters to adding 4.

Silver Alliance... if it really happens, I'll add 14 chapters!

Additionally, I'll include the five Alliance Leaders who already gave rewards before, and add 5 more chapters!

Another thing, from going on sale to the end of the year, scattered rewards will accumulate, and for each Alliance Leader the total surpasses, I'll add 4 chapters as well.

This offer will be valid until December 31st of this year; after that, it will continue as 3 chapters per Alliance Leader.

...

3. [Monthly ticket extra]

Usually, it's 200 monthly tickets for 1 extra chapter; this month, I've already added 10 extra chapters.

After going on sale, an additional rule is added: at 2000 monthly tickets, it changes to 100 monthly tickets for 1 chapter; past 5000, it changes to 50 monthly tickets for 1 chapter.

(ps: This is the most naive decision I've made; during the month of going on sale, there were 9184 monthly tickets... totaling 123 extra chapters, coughing blood!)

This offer is also valid until December 31st.

...

4. [New book monthly ticket rankings]

This is something I never dared to dream of, but everyone's votes in these past few days have given me some confidence.

Making it into the top 20, there'll be 5 extra chapters.

Making it into the top 10, there'll be 10 extra chapters.

Making it into the top 5, there'll be 20 extra chapters.

Third place, 30 extra chapters.

Second place, 40 extra chapters.

First place, 50 extra chapters.

That's what I say, but glancing at the big names leading the ranks, I feel I shouldn't think too much...

But anyway, I'll just write it down.

...

5. [Total monthly ticket rankings]

Breaking into the top 100, there'll be 10 extra chapters.

Breaking into the top 50, there'll be 20 extra chapters.

Anything above that is the realm of monsters; I can't defeat them even with all my might, so I'm not expecting too much.

Anyway, if it actually happens, I'll definitely add extra chapters.

...

6. [Average subscription extra]

For each increase of 100 average subscriptions, there will be 1 extra chapter added, calculated from 0.

2000 average brings 20 extra chapters, at top quality, that means 30 extra chapters.

To sum up, a rough estimate would be:

If there are 1500 first subscriptions, 2000 average subscriptions by the end of the month, 2800 monthly tickets, two Alliance Leader rewards, plus the 5 extra from previous Alliance Leader rewards, and making it into the top 10 of new book monthly ticket rankings.

The total extra chapters will be:

15+20+18+8+5+10=76 chapters

It seems like too much to pay back in a lifetime, but that's not the case.

I'm prepared to go on sale with a daily word count of 6000 base + 4000 extra, aiming for a daily update of 10,000 words.

These mere 76 extra chapters will just make daily updates of 10k words last 38 days, just over five weeks.

No big deal!

...

Describing it this way makes it seem a bit like I'm struggling—I'm indeed struggling hard.

Most old readers know the pressure I'm under.

I don't have many material desires nor do I want to buy a house or a car, I'm also not dating anymore, but my family needs my support.

And sometime ago, to earn more money, I chose the most desperate approach—writing two books simultaneously.

And on two different platforms, with two entirely different dark fantasy approaches, hilarious.

Then at the beginning of the month, after seeing some progress with this book, I finally resolved to temporarily shelve the other and increased the basic word count of updates to 6000 words.

In October, I simultaneously wrote two books: 150k words for this one, 120k words for the other, totaling 270k words, with daily updates of over 9000 words.

Looking back, wow—

That's definitely not a life anyone should have.

If I hadn't tried writing two books at once, and only focused on writing this one, I'd have 120k words in reserve now! That would be some fairytale life—

But unfortunately, life has no ifs, only moving forward.

Is the pressure great?

Very great.

Do I resign myself to fate?

No, I don't.

Hard work may not guarantee satisfying returns, but without effort, rewards are impossible.

As for my life, love and all that, just let it go.

When everything settles...

When I'm no longer suffering or confused for survival, someone will come to love me naturally.

Once, I worked, studied, and wrote updates while dating.

Now, the six-year relationship has ended, I've graduated, and I've quit the job abroad too.

The money I earned while working in Africa for two years has been used to fill the financial gaps my family had, clearing forty to fifty debts, with just a few remaining, almost done.

Ah... if I knew full-time writing was this difficult, I wouldn't have quit my job early to return home.

Anyway, in my current life, besides writing and leaving behind some stories, it seems there's nothing much left.

Just writing.

Then I'll bury my head in writing.

Create stories, leave behind something worth remembering.

Don't worry about me collapsing; this book won't die either, I won't let that happen.

I don't have many other strengths, but I'm very committed to my promises.
