Diary of a Teenaged Mimic

Day Six Hundred And Thirty-Six

Dear Diary,

Some part of me kinda wonders at the ridiculous amount of sexy times behavior I've indulged in since New Years. Like, I've had a few times when my life got really, uh, horizontal and naked a lot. But mostly those times were when I was recovering from some kind of big fight where my ass got torn up, or maybe if I got lucky I wound up in half decent shape and just exhausted, like after the Liberation of Calverton.

Okay, yeah, shortly after the Liberation of Calverton I finally got to take Siobhan out on a Date, at which point I finally got to have my way with her. Okay, to be fair, at this point I think the only reason I had my way is that she didn't have a way yet. Part of me kinda wants her to maybe have some encounters with folks other than Marie, Saffron, and me, because I want to make sure she's actually found her way, and not just the way we want her to be. Then again, if that whole fear fetish thing isn't square in the middle of what lubricates her love tunnel, when she finds something she likes more she's gonna straight up die of overstimulation. Which means I can't let her do that until she decants, because while I would absolutely Revive her, I'm not copacetic at all about the bun in her oven rising once more.

Yeah, the more that I think about it, every single time I've done some kind of crazy Heroic bullshit, which at best leaves me exhausted, and at worst leaves me recovering from severe deceleration trauma and maybe a little bit of being dead, I wind up getting the paleo-classic Heroes Reward, wherein the local hotties attempt to extract genetic information to preserve the bloodline for the next generation. Which... kinda didn't happen any of those times, but we did in fact wind up doing that on our wedding night.

Eh. I guess if I'm spending a week or two every season doing nothing but recovering while engaging in mutually satisfying shenanigans with my ladies, that's still better than the denizens of Olympus.

Spent all day yesterday doing the same stuff that I'd done for the past couple days. Playing with the kids, prepping dinner in the kitchen, helping out around the Academy, and watching Saffron and Siobhan. Okay, technically watching over them. Of course, 'playing with the kids' today also included playing with the students at the Temple of Love. Gotta say, I wasn't exactly thrilled when I saw Cadet Brat sitting on my chair, but Karen's right, the woman is devout, and a couple hours of her Worshipping up close and personal gave me the juice to stay up and perky and friendly for the kids all day long. Playing games, answering questions, helping them with their schoolwork.

The weirdest thing had to be what they had me helping with. Fuckin' math class. Passing my math classes with Ds and Cs back at Eastside made me a fuckin' math whiz here and now. Go figure.

Still kinda riding high when I brought the ladies home. Today I'd put the time in to do some bread bowls made out of bread I baked in the morning, and filled them up with a cheese bear stew. It wasn't super great, but the kids seemed to like it. Honestly, everybody was super nice about it, but I still felt kinda disappointed with myself. I mean, when I say the kids liked it, they all wound up covered in cheese. Not just ours, either, some of the women visited, and their kids were just as messy as ours. Ran them all through the showers, then into the Bath, where I played with the kids while Siobhan and Saffron cuddled with Marie and soaked the stresses of the day away. The visiting women did so as well. The soaking part, not the cuddling Marie part.

Once we got the kids in bed, my ladies kinda pounced me into the Bedroom, then made much of me for all my work with the kids at the school today. Apparently they'd fallen asleep watching last night, then saw me doing my thing in the morning. Everybody also commented on Cherry's poster, at least until Karen arrived to collect it.

Today was interesting. For the first time in like two weeks, I wound up spending the day doing something that wasn't preparing for or reacting to some kind of event, major life event or otherwise. I still wound up running around doing a dozen different things. Playing with the kids. Watching over Saffron and Siobhan. Cooking lunch and dinner, although the former wound up being cold cuts and veggies, and the latter was another attempt at stew. On top of all that, Saffron had me shuffling people around, mostly down to Norfolk, where they boarded the Seeking Tentacle. Didn't have to shuffle Karen down there, but she hopped on there then too.

"Same as last time, you're sleeping on the boat?"

I heard the Captain mutter something like 'ship', but focused on Karen, who nodded. "Yes, Goddess."

I didn't like asking, but frowned and said, "You need me filling in for you?"

She looked a little scandalized, shook her head, but said, "the Clergy can manage without me most nights, but... will you be there next Freyday?"

I nodded. "Yeah, of course I will." I hugged her and said, "might stop by to help with the kids again. Uh, would it be a problem if some of my girls wanted to take classes?"

"Problem? We'd be honored!"

"Cool. I'll let you know."

I collapsed back to playing with our kids. They'd mostly been doing some kind of red rover thing, while Maze and I kinda stood there watching and making mildly snarky comments.

"Hey kids, got a question for you!"

They all looked over, and I had to clear my throat to keep Menace from taking one more rush on the other line. She looked the tiniest bit sheepish for a moment, then wandered over and said, "wud, Mama?"

"The Temple has classes. Reading, writing, mathematics. Plus other stuff. You guys want to?"

Maze immediately, if quietly, said, "yes, papa."

Ria shrugged and nodded. "I know those basics, but learning is always useful."

The others looked a little iffy, but when I said, "there are a lot of other kids there," Menace leapt up and started nodding, which got the others all aboard.

While the others started chattering about what they wanted to learn, I walked over to Alex, who'd nodded along, but then got a booger look. "What's wrong, kiddo?"

She shrugged, scrunched up her nose. "Meeting new kids is okay, I guess, and I don't want to get left behind while everybody else goes, but..."

I lowered my voice and said, "you know you're gonna need all that to become a Hero, right?"

"Huh?"

"Oh, yeah. Five days out of seven at the Academy you're gonna be studying stuff you need that for."

"Book stuff?"

I shrugged. "Some of it, yeah, like history and geography. But you're gonna need that to learn Shaping and stuff too."

"Shaping?"

I whipped up a quick Stabilize, just to make it glow. "Yep!"

"Cool!"

Not long before dinner, Marie draped herself over me, and I realized something. "This... all this... this is just your typical day, isn't it?"

She shrugged. "Most Days."

I smiled at her as I kept stirring the stew to keep it from sticking to the pot. "I... kinda see what you enjoy about some parts of it."

"Which ones?"

"The kids. The cooking." I scrunched up my nose. "Not so much the cleaning."

She chuckled and nuzzled me. "Acquired Taste."

I'm not sure if Maenad kisses were what she meant. She didn't seem to mind when I took it that way though.

She still laughed at me when I burned the stew.
