Chapter 93: Rholi Von Bastin
P.O.V - Diana.
"Before you say anything, would you be willing to listen to my story?" She says asking a question at the end.
I look at her still confused not saying anything.
She heaves a sigh as she begins;
"I have never told anyone this story to anyone before so be sure it doesn't leave us...
My real name is...
Rohli...
Rohli Von Bastin..."
"Rohli Von Bastin?
Am I supposed to know that name?" I think to myself.
She turns her gaze to look at me and then looks away.
"Oh yh, no one knows that name." She says.
"But some few people might recognize the name Bastin.
It's the name of a family from another empire, the Ravier Empire." She states.
Huh?
This doesn't make sense.
She's saying she's from another empire, then how did she end up being the first daughter of Dang Woon.
"Yes, it must be confusing, but let me finish.
Do you believe in reincarnation? or rebirth?" She asks me.
Reincarnation?
Rebirth?
I mean that's what happened to me, twice.
Wait is she saying that...
"Not really." I reply.
She heaves a sigh and begins;
"Well, I also didn't believe in it.
I saw it as a myth or folklore, that is, until it happened to me.
A very long time ago, I used to be a citizen of he Ravier Empire.
Not just any citizen though, I used to be the first daughter of the Bastin family.
One of the three Families that led the Empire.
My father was one of the Dukes of the empire.
Over there they didn't really practice Martial Arts like how it is done here.
There are a lot of similarities like swordmanships and the likes but it was quite different.
Very few people over there uses their bodies to fight.
Unlike here where the people use both their bodies and weapons to fight, over there people depend more on their weapons or just their mana.
Here, once one has opened his dantian and begins practicing he is called a Martial Artist.
But over there, after opening your dantian you either go down two paths;
Either you go down the path of being a knight or become a magician.
Different people had different kind of affinities that dictated their paths.
And then there are few people who neither practice Magic or swordmanships, spearmanship and the likes.
Those ones are then called Martial Artists.
They are seen as inferiors and many of them migrate to this Empire.
I was one of such.
I was labelled a disappointment to my family, a disappointment to the Bastin name.
My family treated me like garbage.
Aside my youngest brother who always tried to support me.
After a while I decided to leave.
I left and found myself in this Empire.
At that point I was just twenty years old and was at the level of a First Rate Martial Artist.
I found a place to work to earn a living.
I worked at the Mount Hua Sect.
I was noticed by an Elder and picked up.
I became her disciple and learnt proper Martial Arts.
I grew strong very fast and by the time I turned twenty five I was already the envy of my generation.
I stood at the peak of the Late Peak Realm.
I fought Martial Masters and won.
I could somehow manage to stand my ground against an Early stage Grand Master.
I was happy.
I was labelled the genius of the century.
This brought pride and also hate.
My friends turned against me.
Even my Master began to act wary of me.
I wasn't happy anymore.
Seeing no point in staying there I left.
I left after I became a Martial Master at the same level with my Master.
I wondered the empire for seven years and one day I came across a man."
A sweet smile creeps up her face as she says the last sentence.
She was smiles as she continues;
"He was weird, always covered up from head toe.
He looked funny.
Our paths crossed twice in the same day I first saw him.
The third time was the next day.
I picked up a gig as an escort warrior.
And he was part of the people who we were to escort.
I got some info and found out he was a well known doctor and alchemist.
He was well known but no one knew why he was always covered up.
During the journey, as the sun rested we were attacked.
They were strong.
We won but people were injured.
He worked tirelessly to treat them and everyone was smiling by the next day due to his help.
He was a sweet man.
So passionate about helping others.
I completed my mission and it was time to go.
I did not bid him farewell as I didn't personally know him but my friend pushed me to say hi.
Apparently I had obviously been always looking at him throughout the four days journey.
I didn't even realize I was falling for his charisma.
He was actually more friendly and hospitable than I expected.
Maybe because I was nervous I expected worse.
We spoke and after a while parted ways.
For the remainder of that day I didn't know why exactly but I was happy.
And then like a creep I started stalking him.
I wanted to take on any job that could lead to us meeting again.
I taught I was sleek but I was caught as soon as I started stalking him.
He asked me what I was doing and I just blurted out that I admired him and would love to be his personal guard.
He was not willing but I pressured.
And after about two days he agreed.
Together we ventured through the Empire together.
And eventually I fell deep in love.
During our wandering around I found out somethings about him.
At that point I knew about everything about him.
It was sad.
He was suffering and yet was still trying so hard to help others.
I swore I was going to remain by his side for the rest of my life.
Wether he fell for me or not, I wasn't leaving him.
That was how I felt.
I didn't know he was already also in love with me.
A particular day he confessed.
I was excited and very happy.
He asked for me to be with him.
Even though I had already sworn to be with him I still gave him a condition that I would only agree if he let me see his face.
He was reluctant but afteroving a distance away he took of his mask and I saw it.
I saw an angel.
And angel who didn't have wings but looked like he could take off at any moment.
And angel without golden hair but shone brighter than the sun.
He was the most beautiful thing I had ever laid my eyes upon.
At that point I thought I couldn't love him more...
I fell harder and deeper.
It may seem like I see him that fine because I had feelings for him but that is not true.
He truly was beautiful.
Even the Queen on her death bed testified to that.
His hair shining black and his eyes dark green.
I started at him for about thirty seconds with my jaw dropped to the ground.
Unconsciously I began walking towards him but he immediately put back on the mask and backed away.
He gave me some rules concerning his body.
Not because he was strict but because he didn't want to harm me.
He begged me to follow them and I did.
We got married and were happy together.
It was hard not being able to properly touch him but I loved him too much for that to be a problem.
We continued wandering the empire together as he treated people and tried to find a cure for his constitution.
One day we arrived at a land.
We stayed there for a while and one day he stepped out to attend to a patient.
Most of the times we go together but sometimes I remain and just wait for my love to get back.
That day I was attacked by three men.
Through the window while I wasn't aware the leaked in a gaseous drug that made me weak.
I couldn't channel my Ki.
I was raped, assaulted and left to die.
I could barely fight back.
It was painful.
I was filled with hate and anger and sadness.
I wasn't just angry for myself.
I was also angry that they took what I had been saving to hopefully one day enjoy with the love of my life.
I was slowly dieing but I held to life.
I wanted to see my love one more time.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity he came.
I could see him broken as he shed tears over me.
But before I died I wanted to touch him properly.
We kissed and at the point of my death I was both the happiest and most hateful woman in the world.
I died that day.
I was sure I did, but then one day I open my eyes and see I am in a room I couldn't recognize.
I was being held by a man.
That man was Dang Woon, the Patriarch.
I had been reborn as his daughter.
After growing up to when I was able to gather information I found out that over a thousand years had passed since I died.
I was happy that I was reborn but after finding this out I was angry.
My hope of revenge, my hope of meeting my love, all gone.
I was filled with hate and sorrow.
I gave up.
I was wasting my life, until Dang Hyuk who was just three walked up to me one day.
As a child he spoke to me about cheering up.
He said he didn't know what was going on with me but that he would always be in my side.
I was cheered up a bit.
Then one day I was about to be bullied by a group of boys but Dang Hyuk came in trying to protect me.
He was a little child who couldn't do anything at that point but he wanted to protect me.
That really touched me.
I changed and one day while going through the history of the clan I found him.
I found out that he had gotten his revenge on the entire Sect of the people who wronged me and he had created this clan.
And that was when I got my new goal.
This Clan, this family he has left for me.
I was going to protect it.
I was going to raise it to the top, by any means possible.
So I can make my love happy for when I reunite with him again in the afternoon life.
And that love of mine was Tang Yao...
The Founding Patriarch..."
