Deus Nos Ducit Ad Astra Per Aspera

Chapter 43: Never give in, fight on

-3 Weeks later-

As the Russian Army advances further inland from the north, the British come in from the south. Albeit slowly as the atrocious amount of Ottoman men slow them down and turn it all into a slugfest.

The Balkan League, as the Balkan people call their resistance against the Ottomans have taken almost all Balkan territory with only Albania and the Constantinople territory remaining. With the Albanians beginning to rebell as well, the estimate is that soon the Balkan front will be over as they focus on Constantinople.

While this happens, the Russian Army that arrived from the Black Sea started to advance again as their goal is to divert Ottoman forces and ease up the Main Army on any strain they would get when advancing.

Since, Samsun, Giresun, Trabzon and Rize are occupied by the Russian Army that came from the Black Sea Fleet, with the same Fleet harassing the Ottoman coast and supplying the occupation.

The Territory between those cities is also under Russian control.

But once Erzurum fell, the Russian Army got connected with Rize and with that connection and the connection Rize has with other Cities, the entire central and eastern coast is under Russian control. Now a land connection is created as the main army can now reinforce the Army at the coastal cities.

With this massive control over Ottoman territory, the Russians can attack from a wider front and do so at multiple cities at the same time.

Forces from Sinop will advance towards Kastamonou. Samsun to Amasya, Trabzon and Erzurum to Erzincan.

From Muş they will advance to Diyarbakir, from Siirt to Mardin.

Even the massive Ottoman Army will be stretched thin as the front is too wide and that is just their front against the Russians.

-Russian Frontline Comand-

The General staff is discussing the current attack strategy. Anastasia proposed the simultaneous front wide attack, targeting major cities as they clear the country-side.

"Alright, let's review it again. We attack from all fronts at the same time giving them no chance to readjust. We will target the highlighted cities. Thus, crippling them to the point were we might see them fall apart."

Michael spoke as he leaned in.

Alexi chimed in.

"Don't forget that the the non Turkic people began to revolt. This could boost the British advancement as it does ours."

Everyone nodded at him as they continued their discussion.

Currently Anastasia is laying down on her makeshift bed to get some needed rest as she needs to be in top shape to lead her men.

As as she falls asleep, she suddenly found herself in a weird location. It's unnatural.

"Hello? Anyone There?"

As she keeps walking she sees, nothing. There is nothing here in its truest sense.

Then a shadowy being emerges, it's form obscured by its dark tendrils.

"As I return to my abode, I find it desolate, devoid of its luster as it decays in roting ruin."

The Shadow speaks in a tone than sounds like scraping a fork on a plate.

"In its place, a roting carcass of of sin and evil lays as it worms around."

The Shadow moves around dramatically as it covers Anastasias sight.

She then sees visions, of a World of sin, of degeneration. Her heart beats like a festive drum.

"The lights that once shone, extinguished, by the very hands that light it."

A World of ruin, where honesty, kindness and compassion, are nothing but myth.

Her eyes begin to shed tears, how can a world like this exist.

"Never have I seen a blight of this atrocity"

The World is gone, trust is dead, virtue is false, sin is all.

"Never to regain what it lost, never to hope, never to dream, never to feel."

A World that abandoned the Word, a World that threw it away.

"The lights of life gone, now a corpse lays in its place."

The joy of the life, lost, never to return.

"Only regret remains as it rots under the blazing sun."

Those who realized their mistake could not fix it, the window of mercy is closed.

Anastasia began to sob, this World before her is nothing like hers, it's dead, wicked and most of all. It lost its light.

"The virtues that held it high, now gone for sin is all that remains."

"All encompassing, all dark, forever."

"HAA!"

Anastasia woke up, drenched in sweat as she looks around her. She's back, no longer in that dream.

"What kind of World is that, I can not let it come to pass."

This is the day that Anastasia swore to herself, that she won't let that World from her dream become a reality.
