Chapter 30: New Threat, New Pill
Three Days Later;
"Finally! Twenty Pills!"
Ken looked at four small jars that contained five pills in each and sighed a breath of relief.
It took him three days to complete these pills.
But of course, they weren't the only pills he created.
On his right side, there were several pills scattered on the ground. But these pills were either slightly cracked or had a darker exterior.
The first pill immediately cracked after he pulled it out. So, it became a wasteful pill.
But he didn't throw them away.
Although these were wasteful pills, they still had many uses.
For example, he could use these pills to grow herbs. Since these pills had a large amount of energy, they could be used by plants or even animals.
They could also be good for humans, but he wasn't going to give these to his girlfriend.
If it were his enemy or even some unknown person, he wouldn't care. But this was his girlfriend.
That's why he could only make twenty pills. In fact, in his first thirty pills, only seven were Rare.
After that, out of twenty pills, thirteen were either Exceptional or Perfect.
Just like any other technique or art, Pills were also divided into five levels.
Entry Level, Accomplished Level, Rare Level, Exceptional Level, and Perfect Level.
Entry Level was his first pill. Most of the failed pills were either Entry Level or Accomplished Level.
That's why if it were anyone other than his girlfriend, he wouldn't mind giving these to them.
Accomplished Level was when the Pill was usable by humans. Entry Level Pill could cause some problems, but Accomplished Level wouldn't.
But one shouldn't take too many Accomplished Level pills.
Rare Level didn't have that problem. Not only that, it was also a level where the pill would have a faster effect and could be taken continuously in a short time.
Exceptional Level was when the pill could produce effects several times better than what it was intended to.
This kind of pill also marked a high level of an alchemist. Normally, only an elite alchemist could create this level of pill.
Perfect Level was when the pill surpassed all expectations. It was on this level that the rank of the pill was generalized.
Without having a Perfect Level pill, an alchemist wouldn't get recognition as a high-level.
This recognition was divided into three tiers: Low, Middle, and High.
But this wasn't an official ranking. It was just used between people since creating perfect level medicine wasn't easy.
If not for his years of mastery, he wouldn't have created so many Perfect Level Pills.
And, even then, he barely created our four perfect pills. And, this was Rank One Pill.
It was also a Low Level.
Creating a Low Level Rank One Pill with his decades of experience and still producing only four Perfect Pill out of fifty was proof of its difficulty.
It was also a proof of his lack of talent.
If it were anyone with high talent for alchemy and his experience, that person would've created at least thirty to forty perfect pills.
'Now with these pills, I don't need to worry about Elaine, and I focus on refining the blood of the Flood Dragon.'
He thought to himself and left the house.
This time, he didn't stay in her house for more than five minutes.
It wasn't that he was unwilling to stay with her, but simply knew he couldn't afford it now.
Dual Cultivation with Elaine wasn't improving his cultivation. But he was in desperate need of strength, especially with his growing sense of danger.
He needed to improve his strength.
While he was moving around his house and Elaine's house, he immediately noticed someone.
This wasn't hard considering his spiritual sense.
But the person he noticed was dead.
At least, he was supposed to be dead.
His expression changed instantly, but he managed to control it before the person turned around.
'Impossible! It's impossible. Makim should be dead. Who is impersonating him?'
'Wait, it could only be them. Only they have enough interest in the Golden Dragon Sect.'
'Nether Race! Oh my god! Why am I facing these monsters now?'
Knowing that they managed to injure a Saint Realm Dragon to the brink of death showed the strength of this race.
And, it was just the tip of the iceberg. The real strength was something that would soon arrive on their continent.
That's why the ancestor of the Golden Dragon Sect was so keen on getting this information to his continent and to his people.
'This is a problem I can't face. I have to be ready to leave this place. But I can't alert anyone for now.'
'I just need to make sure Elaine is ready.'
At this moment, he walked towards his house calmly. He knew that if he reacted oddly, he would immediately face the threat of the Nether Race.
At the same time, he was also screaming in his head.
'System, didn't you say that if I bring major change to the world, I will get Destiny Eggs. Why didn't you remind me about the Nether Race?'
[Host, they haven't made any changes yet. They could be planning on something. But the information costs 100 Destiny Eggs.]
[Sorry, Host! You can neither afford the information nor have the ability to change anything.]
[Instead, you should just sit back and watch. When changes start, you will benefit the most.]
'System, you know, having Nether Race targeting Golden Dragon Sect is a bad thing for me, right?'
[As I said before, the Host shouldn't worry about these things. The Host should just focus on improving his strength.]
Ken finally suppressed his inner fear and thought.
'You are right. I can't panic and make a mistake, especially here. The race that can kill a Saint Realm without revealing their true strength is a massive problem for me.'
'No, wait, if they find out about my physique, this would easily create more problems for me. No, they would just kill me.'
'I need to find a hidden place.'
Ken thought for a moment, and the next moment, he remembered a certain place.
'Red Tiger Forest Area! That's the place where I can find Lee's destiny and also use it as a cover to absorb the dragon blood.'
'More importantly, it's not too far from Golden Dragon Sect, but it's also not too close.'
'Of course, tonight, I should use that medicine. I never thought an ancestor would hide a pill like that inside a scroll.'
He returned to the house and closed his door.
He sat on the bed and took a scroll from the space ring. This scroll was red, and when he opened it, several boxes appeared.
These boxes held different pills, but the one that he needed was in the purple box.
He opened the box and saw a silver pill.
[Sword Intent Pill]
When he saw this pill, he didn't know it. But when he checked it on the system, he found that there was no Low Level pill for this.
There was only a Middle Level Pill.
And, this was supposed to be that pill.
He didn't understand why Makim never showed any sword intent in his previous life.
But then he got more information about this pill and found that it wasn't supposed to be used just as a cultivation pill.
It was supposed to be used as an enlightenment pill. Because it would help him store the Sword Intent inside his Dantian.
By comprehending that Sword Intent, he could create his own Sword Intent.
Of course, the medicinal power of this pill could also be used to complete his Muscle Tempering Realm.
And since it was a Middle Level Pill. He firmly believed that it wouldn't take more than a week to finish.
He placed other boxes inside the scroll and put the scroll inside the space ring. Finally, he took the pill in his hand and placed it in his mouth.
Unlike other pills, when he swallowed this pill, he felt his throat being stabbed by a thousand needles.
He clenched his eyes and his teeth as he bore the pain in his throat.
Soon, this energy passed several organs and entered his dantian. The entire process was a torture.
If Ken hadn't gone through a similar kind of torture in his previous life, he would've collapsed for sure.
At that moment, he realized why Makim never showed Sword Intent or even Sword Energy.
He didn't think Makim's willpower was weak, but he succumbed to an outside race that was planning on conquering his continent and the race.
At this moment, Ken firmly believed that Makim learned about this pill and didn't dare to take it.
Otherwise, he would definitely have unlocked Sword Energy. After all, Sword Intent was the second step of the Sword Cultivation.
Sword Energy was the first step.
Since he didn't even have that, Makim obviously didn't take this pill.
'But I am not him. I am me. I am Ken. This pain…..It's not my doom but my luxury.'
Ken felt his heart being stabbed by thousands of sword energies, but he gritted his teeth and said.
"This Pain...It's nothing. I will…. adapt."
