Destiny Of Immortality

Chapter 14: The Path to Forbidden Knowledge

The darkened hallways of the Rai family estate were quiet, almost too quiet. The once bustling corridors, filled with the voices of generals and servants, now echoed with a haunting stillness. The air was thick with the weight of suspicion, and every shadow seemed to conceal a secret. Yet, amidst the growing turmoil, Shree Yan moved with purpose, his every step calculated, his every action deliberate.

He had achieved much within the Rai family, but his true goal was still beyond his grasp: immortality, the freedom to break the chains of this illusionary world. And to do that, he needed something far more valuable than political power. He needed the forbidden knowledge hidden in the depths of the Rai family's vault.

The Vault of Secrets

The vault was a place of legends, a repository of ancient texts, forgotten rituals, and dark secrets passed down through generations. Few had ever seen it, and fewer still had been allowed to enter. It was said that only those who had proven themselves loyal to the Rai family could gain access to the vault's contents.

Shree Yan had spent weeks observing the guards, the patterns of movement, and the various rituals surrounding the vault. He had already anticipated the obstacles, and now, with his influence over Diwahang growing, he was ready to make his move.

He stood in the center of the library, the one place where he could access some of the family's archives. His fingers brushed against the ancient tomes, feeling the weight of history in his hands. These books were only a small taste of what lay hidden in the vault—knowledge that could break the very fabric of reality.

As he turned to leave the library, he caught sight of a familiar face. It was General Aaryan, the one who had been wrongfully accused. Though he had been released from his temporary confinement, the general's eyes were heavy with doubt and fear. He had not yet regained Diwahang's trust.

Aaryan approached Shree Yan cautiously, his voice low. "You knew I was innocent, didn't you?" he asked, his gaze sharp but filled with a tinge of gratitude.

Shree Yan didn't reply immediately. Instead, he gave a small, almost imperceptible nod. "I knew," he said quietly. "But the time for mercy has passed, General. Diwahang has made his choice."

Aaryan's eyes hardened. "Then what is your plan, Shree Yan? What are you really after?"

Shree Yan turned to face him fully, a faint smile playing on his lips. "I am after the truth, General. And the truth lies in the vault."

The Key to Immortality

That night, as the moon cast a pale light over the estate, Shree Yan prepared for the most crucial step of his plan. Aaryan, now trusting Shree Yan more than ever, had agreed to assist him. Together, they would infiltrate the vault.

Shree Yan's acting skills were in full play as they slipped past the guards. His demeanor was calm, confident, as though he belonged in this secret place. His every movement was calculated to avoid detection, and with Aaryan's help, they reached the entrance to the vault.

The door was enormous, adorned with intricate carvings of ancient symbols. Aaryan stepped forward, his hand trembling slightly as he placed a special key into the lock—a key passed down through generations, forged in secrecy.

With a deep, rumbling sound, the vault door creaked open.

Inside, the air was thick with the scent of aged paper and forgotten knowledge. Shelves upon shelves of scrolls, books, and artifacts lined the stone walls. The vault was a treasure trove of forbidden knowledge, much of it unknown even to Diwahang himself.

Shree Yan stepped inside, his eyes gleaming with excitement. He knew that this was the key to unlocking his immortality. The ancient texts here contained the secrets of transcendence, the knowledge that could sever the ties between the soul and the illusionary world. It was everything he had been searching for.

Aaryan stood back, his expression unreadable. "This is madness," he muttered, his voice barely a whisper. "If Diwahang finds out about this—"

"Diwahang won't find out," Shree Yan interrupted smoothly. "You've already seen what happens when someone tries to stand in my way. No one can stop me from achieving my goal."

He moved quickly, scanning the shelves for the specific texts he sought. He knew exactly where to look. His fingers traced the spines of the ancient tomes, stopping at one that seemed to pulse with an otherworldly energy. The title was written in a forgotten language, but Shree Yan could understand its meaning: The Path to Immortality.

He pulled the book from the shelf, and as he did, a deep, resonant hum filled the room. The air grew colder, and a sense of dread washed over him. But Shree Yan paid it no mind. This was the moment he had worked for, the moment that would change everything.

A Forbidden Ritual

As Shree Yan opened the book, the pages seemed to glow with a faint light. The ancient text outlined a ritual—one that promised immortality, but at a great cost. The ritual would require a sacrifice, a willing offering of blood to fuel the process. Shree Yan's mind raced as he read the instructions. It was risky, dangerous—but it was the only way.

He turned to Aaryan, who was watching him warily. "This ritual will give me what I seek," Shree Yan said, his voice low but filled with conviction. "But I need your help."

Aaryan looked at him, hesitation in his eyes. "You want me to help you sacrifice someone? Someone close to us?"

"No," Shree Yan replied, his tone calm but firm. "I need your blood, General. Your loyalty has already been proven, and you have nothing left to lose."

Aaryan stared at him, conflicted. But in the end, Shree Yan's words rang true
