Destiny Of Immortality

Chapter 12: The Crumbling Foundations

The days following the feast were filled with tension and distrust. The poisoned generals, now recovering but still weakened, were too scared to question the motives of their fellow officers. They had seen their closest allies fall unconscious, their minds clouded by the hallucinations. The idea that someone within the Rai family had tried to sabotage them was now ingrained in their minds. But who could it be?

Shree Yan, ever the puppet master, had carefully planned his next moves. His influence had spread like a silent virus, infecting every corner of the Rai family. Diwahang, in particular, felt the weight of the growing suspicion. As much as he wanted to believe in the loyalty of his people, his trust was rapidly waning. There was no longer any unity among his generals. Whispers of betrayal filled the halls, and the once vibrant Rai family was now a place of hidden agendas and silent battles for power.

The Seeds of Paranoia

The morning after the feast, Diwahang called for a meeting with his trusted advisors. The situation had reached a boiling point. He needed answers. He needed to know who was behind the sabotage.

But even as he called the meeting, Shree Yan was already two steps ahead. He knew exactly how to manipulate the situation.

As Diwahang walked into the war room, he was greeted by a somber atmosphere. The generals were there, but their eyes betrayed the distrust they felt toward one another. Shree Yan, ever the shadow, stood at the far end of the room, his expression unreadable.

"Big Brother," Shree Yan said calmly, bowing slightly. "The situation is delicate. It seems someone has used the chaos to their advantage."

Diwahang narrowed his eyes, his voice thick with frustration. "I know someone betrayed us, but who? Who would do such a thing?"

Shree Yan's gaze flicked over to the generals, lingering for a moment on the most vocal among them—the ones who had questioned Diwahang's leadership the loudest. "The question isn't who did it, Big Brother. The question is, who stands to gain from the confusion?"

Diwahang's eyes hardened. He was beginning to understand the weight of Shree Yan's words, but the answer still eluded him.

Shree Yan continued, his voice soft yet cutting. "Power is like water. It finds the path of least resistance. The ones who were most vocal in their distrust of your leadership, Big Brother, they are the ones who have the most to gain from your downfall."

The tension in the room thickened. The generals shifted uncomfortably, some avoiding eye contact, others glaring at one another.

The Instigator Revealed

As the days wore on, Diwahang's paranoia began to consume him. He couldn't trust anyone, not even those who had once been loyal. But Shree Yan knew exactly how to fan the flames. He began feeding Diwahang small, carefully crafted bits of information—insinuations, half-truths, and subtle suggestions about his closest generals.

"It was General Aaryan, wasn't it?" Diwahang would ask, his voice low, the suspicion in his eyes growing stronger by the day.

"Perhaps," Shree Yan would reply, a slight shrug betraying nothing. "Or it could be someone else. It's hard to say. But one thing is certain—there's a power struggle beneath the surface. And it's only a matter of time before it breaks out into the open."

As the tension continued to rise, Diwahang began to question everyone. The generals who had once been his friends, his allies, were now suspects. One by one, he began pulling them aside, demanding answers, trying to root out the traitor. But no one could give him the truth—because no one truly knew who was behind the sabotage.

At the same time, Shree Yan continued to work in the shadows, feeding his own agenda. He spread rumors, forged documents, and subtly manipulated key individuals to push them toward acts of betrayal. He knew that the crumbling of the Rai family's unity was inevitable. The more Diwahang questioned his own people, the more isolated he would become, and the more control Shree Yan would gain.

The Breaking Point

It wasn't long before Diwahang's distrust reached a breaking point. In a fit of rage, he ordered the arrest of General Aaryan, accusing him of being the mastermind behind the sabotage. Aaryan, who had once been a loyal servant of the Rai family, was dragged before Diwahang, his face a mask of confusion and anger.

"Do you know why you're here?" Diwahang demanded, his voice shaking with fury.

Aaryan stood tall, despite the guards holding him. "I have no idea, Young Master. What madness is this?"

"Don't lie to me!" Diwahang shouted. "You tried to ruin everything. You poisoned the wine, didn't you?"

Aaryan's face went pale. "I swear to you, I had no part in this! I'm loyal to you, Diwahang."

The generals who had gathered to witness the spectacle exchanged nervous glances, unsure of how to react. They knew that if Aaryan was guilty, they could be next. If he was innocent, then the true traitor was still out there.

Shree Yan, watching from the corner of the room, saw an opportunity. He stepped forward, his face painted with an expression of faux concern. "Big Brother, are you sure about this? What if Aaryan is telling the truth?"

Diwahang turned to face him, his eyes narrowing. "What do you mean?"

Shree Yan continued, his voice smooth and measured. "What if someone else is playing us all? What if the true traitor is trying to manipulate you into making a rash decision? We've seen it before—people use fear and suspicion to weaken their enemies."

Diwahang hesitated, the conflict in his eyes evident. He didn't want to believe Shree Yan's words, but doubt had already taken root in his mind. His emotions were running wild, and the stress was beginning to take its toll.

"You're right," Diwahang muttered. "But then who is behind this? Who would betray me?"

Shree Yan's smile was subtle, but it was there. "That, Big Brother, is the real question. And we will find out soon enough."

A New Path

The next few days saw the Rai family fall into further disarray. With the arrest of General Aaryan, others began to distance themselves from Diwahang, and the factions within the family grew more pronounced. Every meeting became a battleground, as generals and advisors fought for their survival, their loyalty constantly in question.

Diwahang, once a confident and proud leader, was now a shell of his former self. His mind was consumed with doubt, and Shree Yan, the true architect of his downfall, was there every step of the way, guiding him like a puppet on a string.

But Shree Yan was patient. He knew that in the end, it would all come down to one simple truth: Diwahang was weak. And as long as Shree Yan held the strings, no one would be able to stop him.

The Rai family's foundations were crumbling. But Shree Yan's rise to power had only just begun.
