Chapter 168: Father Killer.
Wrath asked him, "So what are you going to do?"
He threw up his hands and said, "What else can I do? I have to fight. There is no other option. Nothing I can do will stop this guy from finding me. He will find me, and we will have to fight."
Wrath didn't mention the matter of her ability to resist tracking. She only encouraged him and advised him on how best to prepare for the impending battle.
They read more information about Thorin. There was a lot about him, as he had offended a lot of people.
The Anteater cabal had also offended a lot of people with the way the deadly test that they use to gain new recruits was conducted, but there was actually little information about the whole cabal as a whole.
There was just a little bit of information here and there about the people they had offended. There was very little about their abilities apart from what they had shown in the Destiny games.
But that information is usually outdated since the members of the cabals sign up for the foreign battlefield as soon as they reach the professional league.
Thorin was the only outlier in the cabal. While the others kept a low profile here on earth, he was always getting into one trouble or another here on earth.
A lot of people had a lot to say about him. This helped Kelvin get a better view of how his ability worked and how best to plan for it.
He didn't have much time to plan since Thorin was gaining on him by the moment. But he did manage to cobble a feasible plan together.
The first thing he decided to do was decide on a battlefield. It is something that will be easy to do since he knows what Thorin is looking for.
With the target of the tracking mission in mind, he knows where Thorin will likely end up in his search. He just has to pick which one of those locations will be suitable for a battle.
With that out of the way, he began acquiring the other things he needed for his plan. He didn't spend up to 30 minutes doing this. In total, he spent less than an hour to formulate a plan and execute it.
Meanwhile, somewhere in Paris, in the headquarters of the Caped Crusaders Hero Society. A certain Omega was angry and inconsolable.
Rewind threw a glass vase at a wall. The vase shattered and the water in it spilled everywhere.
He roared, "Let me go!"
One of his new caretakers warned him, "This is your last warning."
This new caretaker is a young hero. She is older than him, but not by much. Her ability allows her to traverse large distances in a short amount of time. She also has a certain tracking ability.
Her abilities are why she was the only one who could look after him and make sure he couldn't escape. At least, if he escapes, she can find him. Or she can try to find him and might be able to keep up with him.
But he wasn't scared of her. He stared her down and said, "Or what? What will you do?"
She couldn't reply.
He smirked and said, "That's what I thought. You can do nothing to me."
She finally spoke. She said, "I can knock you out."
He sneered and said, "You can try."
She didn't reply. So he goaded her. "Come on. Give it your best shot. Let's see who is the fastest between the two of us."
She still didn't speak. So he asked, "Are you afraid? What are you afraid of? Do you fear my potential? Do you fear that I am faster than you? If you're not, then unseal me and let's find out." Stay connected via empire
She sighed and said, "Don't be a child. Stop with your tantrums. You know they are doing this for your own good."
He stamped his foot on the ground and said, "No, I don't care why they are doing this. I won't stop my tantrums. I will always try to escape."
"Don't worry; the association will find the killer and bring him to justice."
He refused. "I don't want them to find the killer. I want to find him myself. I have to kill whoever it is and look into their eyes as they die for their crime."
She returned to silence when she failed to convince him. He didn't like this silence, so he began picking up other things in the room and smashing them against the wall.
He did that for a few more minutes. When that didn't work, he resorted to pleading.
He said, "Please, Sky, he killed my father."
The hurt she sensed in his voice made her speak. She sighed and said, "Trust me, I know that this is painful for you. But that is not going to change anything, and I can't help you. Your ability has been sealed, and you have been forbidden from going after the killer yourself. All you can do is train and wait."
She didn't say that the Count was really his father. The Count had only taken him from the orphanage because he awakened an omega ability.
She didn't say any of those because it would belittle his pain and cause more pain. But it still wasn't satisfactory. Rewind still took offense from what she said.
He asked her in anger, "Wait? You want me to wait while the killer walks about? Do you know how insulting that sounds? How would you feel if someone killed your father and the hero society told you to wait?"
She replied, "I would be angry. But it still won't change anything if my ability has been sealed. So calm down and stop throwing a tantrum."
He didn't calm down. He roared in anger again and began looking for stuff to throw. But he had run out of stuff to throw. The whole room had become a mess. It couldn't help him release the ball of anger in his chest.
