Chapter 110: First Big Fight.
The two previous mental abilities could connect with the minds of others for different reasons. Now the Mental Network ability could connect with the minds of others for both communication and defense. He could create a connection for either purpose with someone as long as he touched them.
It made him smile. "I was right to think they would fuse. This will help me run my gang very well. All I need is Black Mantis's mental domination ability to complete my preparations."
The Mental Network ability had cost him 10 game points to create. In addition to the 40 game points he used to open the slot, the 10 game points he used to fuse Explosive Fist and the 20 game points he used to fuse Aegis shield, it all came down to 80 game points that he had spent in the span of 24 hours.
He expects to spend 20 game points to fuse the Mental Domination ability and another 80 points to open his fourth slot for the Null ability. This would come to a total of 180, which will leave him with 5 points from his savings.
He said to himself, "Soon, money won't be a problem. What I will need will be game points."
But he stopped thinking about that because there was very little he could do to solve that problem. After all, he is already doing the best that he can to earn more game points apart from going to the foreign battlefield.
Instead, he focused his attention on the last product. He rubbed his hands together in glee as he said, "The best for the last."
He touched the man and activated his second ability. His golden tattoos revealed themselves, and his skin turned black. His black eyes and teeth made his grinning expression look malevolent. The golden spikes tattooed all of his body didn't help the situation.
His body began to shine with golden light that also extended to the body of the man in the box. The light entered his body for a moment before it was pushed out. Then his ability deactivated, and the light on his body dimmed.

He was shocked, speechless. Something like this had never happened before. But he wasn't willing to give it up. He tried again to steal his destiny, but he failed again.
"What the fuck is going on?" he asked in disbelief.
Wrath replied, "Looks like he resisted your ability."
This reminded him of what Wrath had told him about abilities that could resist his ability just earlier. He also remembered that Wrath had tried to convince him not to get this man. It made him paranoid.
He turned to look at her and asked, "Did you know that this would happen?"
She was silent for a while as she stared back at him in defiance. Then she replied without remorse, "Yes, I did."
He was confused by her reply. The confusion was all over his face as he asked, "Why didn't you tell me?"
She replied with a question, "Why should I tell you? I don't owe you anything. I gave you a second ability, and you, in return, must kill Raijin. That's all the responsibilities we have towards each other. We are not friends. I am just a tool to you. I have done my part, and I don't need to do anymore."
She folded her arms and continued, "Besides, you don't trust me. Why would you trust my warning even if I had told you? Or is it that you will only listen to what I have to say when it benefits you?"
He exhaled with his whole breath as he considered her words. Now that things have reached this point, he would be lying if he claimed that he doesn't know why she did what she did. He knows that and the point she is trying to pass across.
So he said, "I'm guessing you already knew this would happen right from the moment you asked me to get a null ability."
She nodded. "I suspected as much. Your Power Shifting ability works by stealing abilities, but nulls resist the abilities of others, so it is expected that nulls will be able to resist you. Now you have two choices: elevate our relationship so that you will gain stealth from me or get a stealth ability yourself with game points."
"Either way, it doesn't matter to me if you are captured or killed. I will move on well enough. You will not be the first paragon to die, and you won't be the last."
Kelvin clapped. "Well done. You have summarized our relationship well enough. I won't be the last paragon. You will be fine without me. At the very least, you won't have to worry about why I don't trust you. You already have everything figured out."
Then he turned away from her and went to work, killing the first two slaves. Then he stopped the unsealing of the third slave and closed the box.
Wrath turned away from him and said, "Fine. Be that way. Be stubborn. I'll be here when you are ready to be reasonable."
He sneered and said, "You will be there because you have no choice. You can't go anywhere. I, on the other hand, have many options. I don't need you. I don't need anybody. Whatever I need, I'll take. I can become the god king on my own."
She said in disdain, "That's good to hear. I won't need to do anything and still have a share of your authority. What's not to like? Hurry up and become a god king."
That ended their argument, but the strife between them had only just begun.
The two of them didn't look at each other. Unfortunately, they couldn't seperate from each other, so they had to avoid each other's gazes and pretend that the other wasn't around.

A/N: Hi y'all. I hope you liked their first big fight. I want to explore the possibility that these two won't get along. Do you want them to make up or split up completely?
