Demonic Pornstar System

Chapter 393: Strategy

Kaiden and co barely had time to gather their bearings before the camp came alive as word spread that the briefing was about to begin.

Awakened gathered near the central platform, more than a hundred of them forming a loose semicircle. Weapons reflected in the sun, armor clinked as people moved, and the quiet sounds of anticipation filled the air.

Tessa stepped up first. She carried herself with the authority that came from years of leading. At level 85, she was one of the strongest present despite only having a B-tier class, the Arcane Archer.

But even she glanced to her side when a second figure joined her.

The man wore a deep blue coat and sported a fashionable beard. He was tall, broad-shouldered, and his expression was hard to read. He belonged to Runewoven, named Geralt.

As Talia herself was not a combatant, someone else had to take on the responsibility of leadership.

That duty fell to this man. Level 89, A-tier awakened.

"Thank you for assembling quickly," Tessa began. "We are here for more than just clearing monsters. This mission is a test. Nova Circuit and Runewoven have agreed to stand side by side, and this is the first real chance to prove that our alliance has a future together."

That instantly earned the woman a sharpening of spines from her members and sneers from Runewoven. They all understood that Nova Circuit was the weaker guild, so much so that they were in near financial ruin.

The woman's words, using this mission to prove that this alliance had merit for both sides, felt hypocritical to their ears.

The man from Runewoven took over. His voice was deep and sharp. His mere presence was enough to silence even the loudest of the whispers from his side, letting Kaiden know he was a real leader who had the obedience of his subordinates.

"The dungeon that broke is further inside the reservation. The pulse can already be felt, but the rift is stable. The monsters that escaped are demonic in nature. Expect twisted beasts, armored fiends, and lesser devils. Based on the readings of the association, their strength will fall between levels fifty and seventy."

He paused, scanning the crowd.

"Our task is simple. Contain the threat. Save the native tribes who still live in the area. And in the process, take this chance to grow. Many of you will gain valuable experience here, and the guilds will benefit as well."

Tessa stepped forward again, sporting a smile. "The good news is that most of you will not need to enter the dungeon, which I'm sure many of you are happy to hear. Going into dungeons is nasty business, especially one with a demonic theme. This one is outright hellish, according to scout reports."

This earned the woman many sighs of relief. All awakened present knew how traumatizing some dungeon environments could be. To them, the awakened combatants, fighting on Earth was a major boon.

Tessa continued, "The threat will end once the boss monster is defeated. At this time, we cannot say with certainty whether it remains inside the rift or has already slipped into the wilds. For that reason, an elite task force has been formed. We will use artifacts to track the boss and bring it down. As for the rest of you, your task is simple. Focus on the horde. Contain the spread. Keep the tribes safe and cut down every lesser creature that crawls into our world."

The two leaders exchanged a brief nod before stepping back. The gathered awakened broke into smaller groups, their chatter rising once more as plans and strategies began forming.

Tessa broke from the other leaders and crossed the field toward Kaiden's group.

"It's a pity Rae and Riven aren't here," she sighed as she came to a stop before them.

Aria giggled, eyes sparkling with understanding. "How opportunistic of you, Tessa. You're already thinking about how to harness the power of two A-tiers for yourself, aren't you?"

Tessa let out a soft chuckle but didn't answer.

Nyx was in professional mode today. "It's a pity, yes, but their contracts forbid it. They're our bodyguards at home and while we travel. During missions like these, they return to the Association and join their task forces."

Tessa nodded once, acknowledging the truth of it. "Fair enough. Then let me ask: do you need anything?"

Kaiden shook his head and gestured toward Diaz, who leaned casually against a nearby tree while flipping his daggers with his fingers.

"We're fine. He'll be with us. With him as our rogue and me holding the front, our squad is already plenty balanced."

"Not exactly." Tessa's eyes sharpened as she swept them across the group. "Your girls are all backliners, while Luna is a fragile speedster. Diaz is the same. Which means the only one who can truly hold the front is you."

Kaiden didn't argue. He could've mentioned that Nyx had shields at her disposal, but he knew that relying on spells being cast wasn't ideal.

"That's why," Tessa continued with a little smile, "I want to help. Call it my way of apologizing for letting Vaelira remain a thorn in your sides for so long."

She lifted a hand and waved. From the nearby crowd, a man stepped forward.

Heavy armor gleamed in the morning light, and a massive tower shield rested easily against his arm. He moved with the confidence of a veteran, not the swagger of someone trying to impress.

"This is Thomas," Tessa introduced the man. "B-tier. Level sixty. A tanker who knows how to hold the line, because you, Kaiden, are a damage dealer yourself. You just know how to take some damage thanks to your sturdiness and Gluttony Stance. He'll balance your squad out perfectly, letting you focus on dealing damage."

It was clear in her tone: this was a genuine offer she hoped they'd accept, not a command. As the leader, together with the Geralt guy from Runewoven, the two of them could order Kaiden to assimilate into any team or accept teammates. Tessa, instead, tried to help them and seek his opinion on the matter.

Kaiden glanced at his girls and then at Diaz. None of them showed even a hint of hesitation. Why would they? It wasn't every day you were gifted a walking wall to round out your team.

"Thanks," Kaiden said simply, stepping forward to extend his hand.

Thomas clasped it firmly. The handshake was professional. "The name's Thomas. Looking forward to working with you."

His eyes flicked briefly toward the women at Kaiden's side - Luna, Aria, Nyx, Bastet - but only in the quick, respectful way a man might glance at comrades. He didn't linger, didn't let his gaze wander. It was deliberate, careful restraint. The message was clear: Tessa had warned him about the incredible jealousy and possessiveness Kaiden harbored in his heart.

One might expect a pornstar to be happier to share his partners, or at least let others treat them as eye candies, but that couldn't be farther from the truth.

At the beginning of their journey, back when they were filming porn for both genders, Kaiden didn't truly mind letting men watch through their screens.

But those feelings have been stripped away after he truly fell for his girls.

As the days went by, the less happy he was showing them off. Then came the idea to only film for women, and he jumped on it instantly.

He has never looked back since.

This was his true path, the one he felt most comfortable with.
