Demonic Dragon: Harem System

Chapter 333: Finally everything is ready to start!

The mountain still vibrated with the presence of the dragon, the ground beneath Strax's feet feeling the pressure of the immense creature he had become—imposing and proud. He cast a cutting glance at Baskev, who was almost cowering, a bead of sweat dripping down the dwarf's forehead. The dwarf knew he shouldn't test Strax, but still, he seemed utterly disoriented by the sudden change.

"Don't mess with him, Baskev," Strax grumbled, his voice deep and echoing like thunder. He lowered his head towards the skeletons, still heavy and imposing. "Time to go home."

With a smooth movement, he grabbed the skeletons—now lighter due to the magic he had activated in his mouth—and placed them all at once inside. His sharp teeth sliced through the air as he swallowed the metal and arcane essence. Even with the magic of the runes, Strax felt no difficulty in swallowing the skeletons, absorbing their energy and storing it in his draconic form, as if he were consuming a rare delicacy. The sound of metal grinding and magic fusing within him was intoxicating, a mix of power and control.

Scarlet watched with a malicious smile, her eyes sparkling with excitement. She was already mounted on Strax's back, sitting in a relaxed posture but clearly attentive to what he was doing. "You really have a unique way of solving problems, Strax," she commented, her tone indicating she knew he always had a trick up his sleeve.

Strax turned his head towards her, his crimson scales gleaming under the light of the setting sun behind the mountain. "Only the best way to do it," he muttered, his voice filled with pleasure as he felt the power of the skeletons merging with his being. "Baskev's artifacts are no joke, but now they're mine."

He felt the energy of the runes echoing through his body, filling him with even greater strength. His eyes shone with the intensity of this new power, and his tail rose with fierce confidence. "Let's go, Scarlet. Time to head home."

With a mighty roar that made the very rocks of the mountain tremble, Strax took flight. He no longer relied on the force of his wings merely to propel himself—his draconic essence, charged with the magic of the skeletons, allowed him to break through the gravity barrier with ease. The biting wind hit his red scales as he soared with impressive speed, every beat of his powerful wings cutting through the air like sharp blades.

Scarlet settled more comfortably on his back, gripping Strax's scales as he ascended higher. "You always make everything look so easy," she said with a mischievous smile. "I'm really going to have to get used to this life of traveling on a dragon's back."

Strax cast a glance at her over his shoulder, his dragon's smile reappearing. "If you think this is easy, just wait until you start joining me on other adventures." His voice had a tone that clearly referred to much more difficult challenges. The dragon loved testing his limits, and Scarlet was always there, enjoying the moments of fun by his side.

The landscape stretched out below them, forests and fields beginning to appear tiny as Strax climbed higher. Their home wasn't far from there, and he knew the journey would be quick—not only because he was a dragon but also because his keen eyesight could see distant details as if they were right within reach. The mountains began to disappear as he sliced through the sky with the grace of a predator.

"I have to admit," Scarlet spoke after a moment, breaking the comfortable silence, "I was kind of doubting you at first. I knew you were strong, but... seeing you do all of this so easily, it's something different." She smiled, the gleam in her eyes showing the respect she was starting to feel for the dragon.

Strax didn't say anything for a moment, letting the wind carry her words. He continued flying at a steady pace. Read new adventures at My Virtual Library Empire

His eyes shifted back to the landscape below as they continued their journey toward their home, which was now beginning to form on the horizon, visible from a distance.

What lay before the mountain was a vast terrain, arid in some parts but with beautiful green fields in others. Strax neared the house, a majestic fortress built in the heart of a great valley, where the surrounding mountains protected it like a natural embrace. His home had the grandeur of a castle but the solidity of an impregnable stronghold.

He began to descend gently, his enormous claws touching the ground with an unexpected delicacy. The rocks around him vibrated with the landing, but nothing broke. Strax lifted his head, observing his homeland with attention — now more alive than ever. He knew his journey was only beginning, but for now, he was satisfied with what he had achieved.

"We're home," he said to Scarlet, a gleam of satisfaction in his eyes.

She looked at the great fortress, a sense of accomplishment filling her chest. "I can't wait to see what you'll do with all of this."

Strax turned to her, his scales gleaming in the light of the setting sun. "Now, let's see if these skeletons can really serve our purpose."

Strax entered the grand hall of Scarlet's mansion, the massive doors creaking open as he advanced, bringing the two skeletons with him. They were now completely infused with the arcane and magical energy that the dragon had imbued them with, yet their metallic structure still glowed with an intense aura, a mix of brute strength and powerful enchantments. Strax, with his towering height and presence, approached two sturdy stone tables carefully set up in the room.

Evelyn was there, waiting.

Her eyes studied the skeletons with a mix of curiosity and excitement.

Strax smiled, a malicious expression lighting up his gaze. He placed the skeletons on the tables with ease.

"So, do you think you can create our two homunculi?" Strax asked, his voice laced with amusement. He watched Evelyn, his smile reflecting confidence in her abilities.

Evelyn looked at the skeletons and then at Strax, her eyes analyzing every rune line and detail of the metallic bodies. She walked up to one of the tables and began making adjustments to the runes, carefully running her fingers over the intricate designs. She was well-versed in what was needed to create homunculi — they weren't just animated bodies, but beings with essence, with souls. She knew it wouldn't be easy, but that was exactly the type of challenge she relished.

"I can do this," Evelyn replied, her voice calm but full of conviction. She turned to Strax with a firm look, a spark of excitement gleaming in her eyes. "The skeletons are impressive. The combination of arcane steel and adamantine essence will create an almost indestructible base. But for these bodies to become true homunculi, I'll need time."

Strax moved closer, watching with interest as she began working. He knew Evelyn wasn't a novice, but her words still carried an air of mystery, as if she were hiding something. He crossed his arms and leaned against one of the columns in the room, waiting patiently.

"How long?" he asked, not in a hurry but with growing curiosity. He was eager to see the potential of those skeletons, to see if they could become something truly unbeatable. "And do you think it'll be possible to merge them with the souls I have?"

Evelyn didn't look at him immediately, but her hand paused over a glass vial containing a shimmering liquid, as if she were pondering her response. She then lifted her eyes and looked at Strax, her fingers skillfully preparing the next ingredients.

"With the magical energy you injected into them, Strax, they're far from being just skeletons," she said, beginning to mix the ingredients with the precision of a master alchemist. "The fusion of the homunculi will be a complex task, but not impossible. The real challenge will be ensuring that their soul is cohesive, that their mind isn't just fragmented by the fusion of so many powers. If we manage that, they won't just be weapons — they'll be conscious beings, as you desire."

Strax simply shrugged, his confidence overflowing. "The unpredictability is what makes things interesting." He smiled again, now with a clear malice in his expression. "I trust you, Evelyn. Do whatever it takes. If everything goes right, we'll bring two legendary dragons back to life."

Evelyn watched him for a moment, her eyes shining with determination. "Then if you're determined, let's begin." She raised her hand and conjured a magic circle around the skeletons, the runes glowing brightly as she channeled her magical energy to bring the fusion to life.

The process began slowly, like a whisper in the air, and the room was enveloped in a palpable magical tension. The power of the runes intensified, and Strax felt the thrum of energies as Evelyn's work began to take shape. He crossed his arms again, watching his work with a satisfied smile.
